@bitsurfer0101 No need for a magnetic coating....a magnet put beside a moving conductive surface (or vice versa) like aluminum or copper will cause tiny eddy currents of electrical energy to flow in the conductive surface, which resist the magnetic field. Try taking a powerful rare earth mag. just barely smaller than the circ. of a copper pipe. Drop it down it and it will fall in slow motion...a really cool experiement!!!
