I was a radio dj during this time and to this day it's by far the most beautiful, thoughtful, romantic song I've hers in country music - simple, no heavy production, simply beautiful
@dgpage....I saw him years ago at the old Palmer Auditorium in Austin, Tx....he was amazing!!!! Still one of the most underappreciated acts in country music....
Thank the late great Chet Atkins for discovering and bringing him out to us all!
I love Steve...I am so excited, I will be seeing back to back concerts of his in a couple of weeks on Sept 1st and Sept 2nd.....front row center and 4th row center.....I have loved his music for 29 years! Thanks for posting this beautiful song!
I found this song on SingSnap.com. I had never heard it before. First thing I thought was I had to try this song for my wonderful wife so I tried it. Might not be just the way this is done but I love the words in it. So much meaning and feelings. Thanks for shareing it.
You did absolute the right Mr Cadillac!! Thank you!
I heard that song about 15 years ago on AFN-Radio here in Germany. Thank god I recorded it on Tape. Since today it was the only way to listen to that song and don`t ask about the quality haha..... I love this song!
Steve's songs did GREAT on the Country charts and as I'm sure you all know did great on Tour! Granted he was no George Strait as far as popularity but he had a great career and I loved all his songs!!! We played this song at our wedding in Feb. 1992
I played this at my wedding in 97. Steve Wariner is one of my all time favorites. It's a shame he isn't more recognized by country radioi. Thanks for posting.
@ddebbiegirl I agree totally with you! He never has gotten the recognition he has deserved. Must not have enough drug busts and extra-marital affairs on his resume.
@DaveWollenberg I would just like to add that according to R&R records this song reached #2 and stayed there for weeks. The radio station I worked for reported to R&R and as opposed to billboard (trash) R&R was a Trade mag, not a press mag. What I mean by all this is that this song was highly respected, at the time, and most purists preferred it and billboard didn't show it the truth it deserved

He's won some Grammys, but, I agree, never enough recognition for such a great talent. And a good role model, too. Thanks, Steve, for your gifts.

Steve hit #30 in Billboard, 4-10-93. God bless ya, brother Steve! Happy birthday, and also, Merry Christmas. (Steve's birthday IS on Christmas!)

@DaveWollenberg I had forgotten that! In my opinion one of the most under-appreciated talents in country music.
Chet Atkins signed this man to RCA...that should say it all!
