And as far as the 2 game suspension for the Bell shot, watch the video. Raja throws his hands into Horry first, THEN Horry defends himself. More of a slap fight really. If an "altercation" would not have broken out, Nash would have laid down and sold the foul even more. But he got up becuase he didn't want his own teamates getting suspended over him selling the foul. A veteran play to be sure, but it backfired because Amare and Diaw are young'uns and don't know any better.

If Popovich is as opportunistic as you suspect, then why did he tell the refs earlier in the series to let Nash play when Nash's bleeding could not be stopped, in a game that was still up for grabs. Of course the refs quoted the rule book and said no. Do you think D'Antoni would of showed the same class and sense of fairness if Duncan was bleeding all over the place? HELL NO! So it is a huge stretch to think Popovich would order a flagrant foul in a game that was pretty much decided.

I think Horry simply got frustrated...plain and simple...in the heat of the moment he saw the game slipping away suddenly and he decided to do something to 'change the momentum'. It was a bad choice of course, but I think it was a flagant foul, which only should have hurt the Spurs more...too much of a big deal was made out of this...no one got hurt.

Is Horry not supposed to play defense? Any player with enough knowledge would do the same, stay back and defend. They needed to foul and that is what he did. (Notice Manu setting up right behind Horry in case Nash gets away from Horry) Horry just stood in Nash's way while he was running full speed, so he is naturally going to fly upon contact. The Suns just made it a bigger deal than it was. Sure Horry walked off with an attitude, he was frustrated just like any of us would have been.
