thats nice, everything works fine?? drivers, wi-fi... cos now Im using Windows an it runs fine check the HD video promo I made on an aspire one at my videos or right here /watch?v=cZH-FYUg20Q
I think the compatibility of the two aren't good I'm assuming but you should try to see if the hardware is even recognizable by Ubuntu, because some products are OS-oriented or was made to only accept a certain OS to use it, mainly Windows and Linux. You can always switch to windows xp and turn off all unnecessary computer functions to make it run more smoothly. This may take more memory space but you can buy like 2 4gb cards and label one for media and one for work.
the acer comes with an interal 8gb ssd memory card inside, you can upgrade this by simply buying another 8gb and putting it in the card reader slot. You can also increase the 512mb ram by opening the laptop and adding an extension laptop ram.
the HDD version didnt come out until like a month later so most people have the SD version, but the 120GB would be my choice although for those who slave over more hard drive space there is a NEW 160GB version. The downfall of the extra 40gbs is that the power source gets drained an extra 30 minutes of run time. The SD version performs almost twice as fast as the HDD version and uses less power also, but limit space. So people just take their pick. Longer Battery Life Vs Memory Space
