  • HID'sssssss lol

  • I don't believe he lost it in the vid. Watching his video, from his personal in-car camera, he never went off-track.

  • lol, initial D

  • Scion needs to come out the next generation of Supra and MR2

  • @RichKilla86ers They trademarked the Supra name for the next three years. Cross your fingers.

  • they build a car that they can sell in the name of ae86 bcz its so popular and be loved !! but it's a big failure !! i would rather to buy the same ae86 model if they build it in the same shape !! ae86 is the best <3

  • They should've kept the concept design.

  • @aassggkk and made it horridly unsafe and priced astronomically high? No, that's not what the car is about.

  • @rivengle It would have the same frame, it wouldn't be unsafe. It would have to meet safety standards, which it would. And astronomically high? Im not talking about everything about the concept, just the outward appearance. The concept was more appealing than this one, but this car is still beautiful.

  • Deff a car on my short list to buy..but i kinda wanna hold out for the Subbie Sti version

  • @tredeep and the extra 13K?

  • @tredeep i look at my 08 si a little differently every time i go out to it now, ever since i heard word of these cars

  • he kinda looks like Dai from the side

  • 1:07 He definitely crashed into the grass right after

  • Awesome video. Obviously, everyone is excited about this car. I just saw a bunch of people talking about getting the car at fast86.net

  • I don't think they have enough GoPros on that Scion

  • My miata can also drift on a wet road....nothing special...

  • @SniKKaz But does your Miata have 200hp? ;) (the fr-s is roughly the same size)

  • @rivengle mines got 360HP! but it also has an engine swap

  • @rivengle not really :-/ if you look at the spec sheets the fr-s has a lot longer wheelbase which would make it a much more stable car to drive

  • 0:58 Damn, there's no angle they didn't get

  • i like BRZ better because it has LED's :)

  • What the fuck ? Isn't that the BRZ ?

  • @omygosh34 You idiot its, BR-Z/FT-86/FR-S are all the same. the Subaru suspension is set up slightly different, I'm guessing they weren't under as much pressure to bring back the feel of the ae86.

  • @snakeeater66 oh ok, you dont gotta be a dick about.

  • BR-Z/FT-86/FR-S are freaking identical.

  • the drift fails at 1:07 they even had to cut it out.

  • where the fuck is the concept version of it. THIS IS SOOOO FUCKEN UGLY!!

  • @aznguy11111 Hey they probably tried the best they could to match the concept, do you know how many stupid government regulations there are that determine the shape of new car, so pedestrians will be genitally defected off the car and then stagger back to the pub.

  • @snakeeater66 what?

  • tail lights are UGLY. IT GOTTA GO

  • Haha, The track was wet on The end of The video, it makes Drifting with low power easier!

  • @bigpapanl but harder to control

  • @kain161718 maybe, i've seen lots of drifting on a wet oval track because it makes less noise and into the netherlands we have noise limits.

anyway, a wet track makes it easier to slide with low powererd cars like the AE86, BMW E30 and the European ford Sierra with a 2 litre engine and a whelded diff!

  • @bigpapanl yeap and if you have drifted in the rain before it is harder to control, easier to initiate in underpowered cars but harder to control

  • @bigpapanl oooooooooo...... Nop actually is more difficult to control, u can under steer more easily, and there are more videos including this one that the GT86 (the real name not the FUCKED up USA name) is drifting and not in the rain!!! I'm a drifter with a AE86 and in drifting power don't matter that much, Gushi don't know shit, talking about power, the car is a weight/ power ratio that means that 197hp = 240hp because of the low weight!!!

  • WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT IN NORTH AMERICA?!?!?

  • @773soccer Early spring in 2012.

  • @oneviwatara Nice!

    Any idea on the price?

  • @773soccer They said starting price at $25,000.

  • Underpowered? I don't care. That's what aftermarket parts are for

  • Anyone know the base price?

  • I don't see smoke in any of the videos while the car slides. No/very poor Gripp.

  • @1Shiznit Lemme guess, you use this same insult every time you are proven wrong? I love seeing how pathetic people can get when they get angry over something on the internet lol.

  • ken GUCCI

  • Thank you Jesus! I was wondering when scion was gonna pop out something better.

  • pretty sure this car was designed to be underpowered, with further modification in mind.

  • @HyperLeafBlower It's not modifications, it's more that it doesn't need the power. This is suspected to compete with the Mazda MX-5, which is another car with very little power, but handles like no other.

  • Underpowered. Looks good though but should have a Turbo option :/

  • @SnowSurfDirtX Another moron who doesn't get the point of this car...

  • Balance over power try driving a 700 hp rwd on a touge

  • ... but will it blend?

  • @86Nookie The FR-S will blend the BlendTec!

  • @86Nookie nobody gives a fuck

  • This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered. This car is NOT underpowered.

  • @1Shiznit There's that word again...underpowered.

Yet another moron who misses the whole point of this car.

  • How can you even compare it to an AE86...this is a sports car. The 86 was a econo-box Corolla...

  • @ExileElf The AE86 was an affordable lightweight RWD sports coupe that was built to compete with the Nissan S cars of that era.

Just because it was called the Corolla, doesn't mean it was an econobox.

  • @ExileElf By the way, he wasn't comparing this to the AE86. He was comparing it to the Scion's Japanese brother, the Toyota GT-86.

  • @Elmo187 He said, "traditional AE86" bro...

  • @Elmo187 I'm pretty sure he was actually comparing it to the AE86 as he said "traditional AE86 which I still drive today" at 0:28.

  • @ExileElf the corolla or ae86 is a amazing handling car that was rediculously easy to drive fast, and go sideways in...clearly so is this..

  • @itchysp The Corolla SR5 has 87 horsepower, a solid rear axle and a smooth, "comfortable" ride characteristics. My stock 86 is very slow; it just makes a pile of noise, even with the stock exhaust, and goes nowhere. It doesn't have enough power to break the rear wheels loose to "go sideways", even in the rain.

That being said, I have my 1UZ swapped track monster that is about 350 rwhp, which is a very fast, great handling car. Unfortunately that build is easing towards $20,000 at this point.

  • @ExileElf ur sr5 isnt a ae86, lolol

  • @itchysp AE86 is simply a model designation. In North America, the AE86 came as either a Corolla SR5 or GTS.

  • @ExileElf AE86 is a sports car..

  • @Lowloudandsideways I would say the GTS is a little sportier; however, it is far from being considered a "sports car". That name, personally, I would reserve for Z cars, M3s, and the like.

  • @ExileElf lol dumbass

  • @rey1164 Have you driven either? Or are you just some Japanophile fanboy?

  • @ExileElf lol no dumbass i own a ae86 my self and i being fallowing this car since the picture of the prototype came out ive also seen all the reviews so far, from top gear, speed hunters, and other drivers so no im not a fan boy in that sense, u however are a morron talking about shit u dont know about, many idiots such as urself which much more powerful cars where beaten by that little piece of shit econo box. in my opinion a lotus elise is a 86 on steroids

  • @rey1164 Source? What more powerful car were beaten? In what style of racing? Touring? Hillclimb? Rally?

  • @ExileElf listen kid im not fucking google if u where a fan of the car u would know the car had its own racing series back in japan where it was only 86's allowed, also the car was xtremely popular for rallying and circuit racing, such as group A and group N at those times the biggest rival was the civic's obviously neither car near stock, then u got Keiichi Tsuchiya who used the car to race in mountain passes against any car , R34, R32, Rx7s, u name it he never lost on those mountains

  • @rey1164 the car is still popular today for its response to the driver and how easy it is to work on, obviously the car is too old now is showing its age, but is a perfect entry level car for circuit racing or drifting they say if u can drift an ae u can drift any car because the car is all about the driver, and if u think about it toyota didnt decide to make a tribute to this car cause a couple of hundred people thought it was cool...but hey u wouldnt know to u is just an econo box.

  • I think that at 1:02 - 1:03 before the video edit....he lost it!! :P

  • if the fr-s is gonna compete in formula D than Ken gushi is gonna chuck in a v8 just like everybody else with their japanese cars...

  • @andrewmai123 ken gushi currently uses a scion tc that has 4 cylinder as far i remember...

  • It's great that the FR-S can slide, but I hope that it is used for circuit racing just as much.

  • Hmm.. I wonder..

  • I wanna see what his team can do the new Subaru flat 4.

  • nice. Glad to see toyota finally getting a rwd mid price sports car into the market again.

  • Very nice car.
