I actually am about to dye my locks too... either red or grey (yeah, i know, am freaky like that lol) anyway, and idk, i might run into thesame prob u did... it may not take the colour much because my hair had been dyed permanent jet black so... it'll probably be hard for it to take the colour. Oh well, will see... thanks guys

i used the color silk u used in ash blond to lighten my dark brown locks but it dnt work as well as is should

if you dyed your hair permanent jet black, you will have to bleach your hair if you want to apply a color other than black.
