Lächerlich Werder Sascha. Der spielt ja nicht 3 oder vier Spiele schlecht. Sondern dauerhaft schlecht. Er ist einfach eine Katastrophe. Er läuft nicht, er kämpft nicht und spielerisch ist es auch eine Katastrophe. Hoffe das er im Sommer weg. Seit er seinen dicken Vertrag hat macht er gar nichts mehr.

So as of now, it seems the English FA's only chance to make Hunt play for England is to call him up on England's World Cup 2010 squad in case that Loew does not call him up on Germany's but never say never. If everything goes normal however, Hunt will be called up for Gerrmany and gladly accept the offer.

Let's look at the facts here: his father is German, his mother English.

He was born and raised in Germany.

He has played for German youth national teams since he was 16.

He plays for a German club.

He stated, that he would prefer playing for Germany.

I'm not sure if he even speaks English as a native language but he probably learned it at school.

I think he'd may consider England on the basis that, other than Rooney, England don't have many fit international class strikers.

- Crouch doesn't do it against the big teams.

- Defoe isn't a natural finisher.

- Heskey can't get a game for Villa and can't finish.

- Carlton Cole looks good, but is untested.

- Owen has lost a yard of pace, which is fine at utd, as they keep a lot of the ball, but England struggle with posession and need pace.

I agree, but Defoe has been on fire this season, so has Agbonlahore.

Never really saw why Carlton Cole was ever considered, always thought Darren Bent or Andrew Johnson were better.

Crouch is dangerous if pinpoint over-head crosses are aimed at him of the Beckham Variety.

Heskey is not getting the games.

So my first four Strikers would be

Rooney, Defoe, Agbonlahore and Crouch.

But i do concede that Hunt would be a fantastic partner for Rooney.

 I agree with you on Hunt being better than Crouch nevertheless but its difficlt to compare those two as Hunt is a completely different type of player.

Klose is Polish yet plays for Germany. So Hunt even has a English mother as you said, meaning he can play for England.

I don't mind those players you spoke of playing for England as I am black myself!

Klose got his German citizenship by birth according to German law as he is a so-called Aussiedler (a member of an ethnic German minority in Silesia which is really granted the status of a minority by the polish government) so he could be considered both Polish or German.

But what I really wanted to say is: I wouldn't mind Hunt playing for England. Read my posts first, please. I just said it is unlikely he will do so and gave reasons for it.

As much as i would love Hunt to represent England, he is a fantastic player but he probably would do better in the German ranks, Everyone knows that Germany is more likely to win major tornaments, plus he doesnt seem too keen.

We have alot forwards of International quality, for example:

Rooney, Defoe, Owen, Agbonlahor, Ashton, Heskey, Andrew Johnston, Carlton Cole, Crouch, Darren Bent.

Some good up coming youngsters Like Dan Sturridge & Andrew Carroll.

So do we really need him?

Thanks for your interesting comment. The next chance to make hunt a "full international" would be the World Cup as friendlies don't bind players to a team. I am a Germany supporter but I am not quite convinced if Hunt is good enough for the national team. He tends to injure very easily. If he can keep up this kind of level for a whole season without suffering major injuries he should be called up for the World Cup. If not, he is very likely to get called up for the Euro Cup qualifiers after

As far as I'm aware he'd become a fully bound international as soon as he played a friendly for either Germany or England. Maybe we're being mislead by the press here in the UK? Do you have link, because I always thought you were only allowed to play in schools, under 21s and B internationals before deciding on allegiance?

And a friendly is still deemed as a full cap here, and contributes to official player records, so I doubt your notion a little.
