Well both of them, in the 80'ts EVERYBODY listened to em, they were setting the trends everywhere. But theres new music today and different styles, so going back is not a option ;) Yesterday, Joey Tempest sat as a judge at the Swedish Idol, I mean, everywhere theyre getting more and more attention, mainly cause of the new album and the radio hit new love in town, top 15 at like all radio stations here in sweden btw. People finally starting to realise that theyre back and mean business.

Yes I know and I mean the self thing. I like the new stuff very well. For example "start from the dark" . Yery good album but in the world they only sold 700'000 exemplares. 2. My absolutly favorite band is duran duran. They make today good albums but they don't sell very much albums. Madonna is bad and they sell millions.

At the top of the charts is not the good quallity of music. This is what I mean.

Anyway, this is a very nice version, the song is absolutely superb, and in my opinion, this guy has some of the best voices in rock. Of course his voice matured a little bit,but still the notes he can hit are not easy.

Hey, give him a break, he seems to have a cold or something, check out the other versions from 2005-2008 and you'll find that his voice is better. I heard him hit a Bb in one of the recording from the last year i believe, so he can still do it, only that from he's own reasons he prefers not to.

This isn't all that bad, but the reason he can't do what he used to do is probably because of the permanent damage of touring for umpteen years singing in the upper tessitura of his voice. That strains the vocal folds and creates callouses. We call that "break-down" playing/singing. Any performance or hard rehearsal/practice is "break-down." Most singers from the 80s didn't know to do "build-up" practicing by going back to the basics, particularly doing a rigig warm-up every single day.

I wouldn't say it sounds bad, but letting the crowd sing the high notes every time is a bit of a let down. It's like seeing your favorite guitarist, but he never takes a solo. Good acoustic version, but I would have liked to see if he can still produce the goods live. Great song.

I don't understand your response. Being older has nothing to do with being able to hit the higher notes or not. That's a cop out answer. There are tons of great singers who haven't lost their voice as they've matured or gotten older. Either way, in this video and every other acoustic vid on youtube, he doesn't sing the higher parts of the song. Even in his younger days, he struggled to hit the notes live. Still, I give him a lot of credit for what he can do.
