@limpcookiez148 Probably because like Sting said, nothin was gonna top nWo/WCW. That 1997 Starrcade was one of the most anticipated matches of all time. I even remember CLEARLY watching Nitro before Starrcade. They had a 3-hour special that was quite possibly one of the most exciting Nitros ever! Well maybe not exactly exciting, but memorable.

The match didn't live up to the hype because Sting hadn't wrestled in over a year, but more importantly, because Hogan was an arrogant prick that refused to put Sting over cleanly in the biggest match in WCW history. That was the first nail in the coffin for WCW, with many more nails to come.

He also graciously did the job for Sting at the Great American Bash & gave him the Big Gold Belt. Sting couldn't draw like Flair & returned the title to Flair after only six months. So who is really "way better"?
