  • I FUCKING NEED A WAH WAH PEDAL! Btw wich settings on our amp?

  • unfortunately i damaged my thumb so its got very little movement so i,ll have to find another way to play this..where theres a will theres a way..:-)

  • This guy sounds like Kermit the Frog! Haha awesome playing :D

  • 7:42 The James Gang ;-)

  • só vota negativo quem não consegue tocar.

  • is that purple nail varnish?

  • @evr92 who gives a shit gaylord. listen to the guitar

  • ótimo trabalho. parabéns!

  • wow. great lesson. i knew this was gonna be good since your fingers looked exactly the same as hendrixs in the little box!

  • you´re good !!!

  • wat dvd is this lesson from/

  • You play really well, but can you sit down please?

  • hey sry to bug you but can you tell me the down up pattern. thanks for showing us the sweet styles

  • Once again a great lesson :) Keep up the good work!

  • THANK YOUUUU

  • only thing i know is: this guy knows whereat he's talkin' about!!

  • fantastic lesson. Thank you very much

  • WHERE CAN I GET THIS GUITAR?!?! :O

  • @MrErjavec It's a Kenny Wayne Shepherd Stratocaster.

  • @bcbrandon97 Its called transcribing, try it.

  • Sweet job man, you make it look easy. I wish I had a Wah pedal. I'm using something similar to an autowah on Guitar Rig 5. It works, sounds relatively close.

  • Muting strings you dont want to play while strumming is very hard.

  • Good stuff as always just wish you would show your foot motion on that wha wha p

    cheers

  • where the hell are the tabs???

  • @bcbrandon97 They are in the video but it's hard to see them through a sense of entitlement.

  • @gr8bluesgtr LOL! :) Haha!!

  • @gr8bluesgtr hahahahaha dude. you put that kid in the burn ward.

  • @gr8bluesgtr ;)

  • @gr8bluesgtr

    i love you.. lol

  • @gr8bluesgtr LOL

  • @gr8bluesgtr ohhhhhhh! burn

  • @bcbrandon97

If you need tabs then you should give your guitar away.

  • Nice tone.

  • HENDRIX SNACKS HAHA ACIDDDDD AND WEED!

  • Hey man, if you could do some John Frusciante lessons that would be awsome. I don't need to tell you how inspirational he is as far as blues/funk and rock go.

  • @okamasphere That's an ironic statement since "Under the Bridge" shows that Hendrix was very influential to Frusciante... and THIS is a Hendrix lesson! I think my brain just exploded!

  • @StratMatt777 yeah the playing in that rips off hendrix big time...not that i mind obviously lol

  • @okamasphere,

I second that request if it helps any? When Frusciante was a kid his parents took him to a powwow. An all Indian band happened to be playing Little Wing. John couldn't understand how it was possible to play Little Wing with just one guitar because of Hendrix's amazing ability to play a chord with a harmony going on at the same time. I felt the same way when I first heard Hendrix. I just couldn't understand how one guy could put out all that sound by himself.

  • P.S.,

Hendrix says he picked it up from Curtis Mayfield. You should download some Curtis Mayfield to see what I mean. The song "Think" off of the Superfly album is one good example. Hendrix really brought it to another level though, he was "Hendrix" after all.

Under the Bridge and Soul to Squeeze by Frusciante have Hendrix written all over them.

  • @Greyswyndir don t forget sir psycho sexy :) That's totally Hendrix...

  • @TheKonstantinLevin,

Really? That's interesting. I'll have to go back and take a listen to see what you mean. Thanks.

  • Inspired by the funk

  • Oh my God, that pedal is the greatest pedal ever, and they don't make them anymore. I want to die.

  • that looks like my charvel

  • What model stratocaster is that?

  • @xXlopoXx

kenny wayne Shepperd - it looks like KWS American fender

  • not too bad yourself, rock on.. papatom609

  • Jimi revolutionized everything we know about guitars and how to make them sing. Many if not all musicians have heard his name. Keep rockin in the clouds jimi

  • jimi fuckin rules!

  • Wah happened?

  • I'm glad that he waah-ks us through the lesson!

  • I'm glad that he waah-ks us through!

  • use your tone volume on your guitar

  • Anthony , the Best teacher!

  • More wah lesson tricks please

  • What do you do with your wah while playing?

  • i been playing 20 years learn new stuff all the time you got best lessons on you tube bro class teaching skills

  • My Strat looks just like this one here except with out the silver stripes...you've got good taste in color combos

    Kinda like a Gilmour/SRV hybrid

  • 4 thumbs down why? who ? crazy most likely steve vai joe satriani

  • @kevlarunderware Joe Satriani is actually pretty great, playing more melodic stuff rather than that insane crazy speed technique junk so many metal "shredders" prefer. and He Taught Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet of Metallica, which shows his superior command of guitar playing. I am a bigger fan of Hendrix and SRV, but Joe is an amazing guitar player.

  • i can't wait to get a wah pedal.

  • my mind is blown this is crazy helpful and well explained

  • Wow You're amazing. I've got some sounds comin' out my guitar that I never thought I'd hear for several years....Your an amazing guitarist and an inspirational teacher.

  • Hey man hows your living? I hope youre makin money so you can continue these lessons. They are the best guitar lessons I've ever had, youre a born teacher.

  • sounds like some early jimi, killing floor and izabella were the 2 songs that came to mind before you even said them. cool lesson!

  • this is one of the greatest lessones on line

  • Man you have no idea how much I've learned from you in the past year:D Thanks 4 sharing.

  • Ouch, expensive Wah!

  • Anthony...GREAT VIDEO as always. I have a tone question for you: Besides the Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, what other options are out there to get that big, beefy mid, SRV tone??? Thanks for the help. To any others reading this...buy the videos from Steviesnacks....BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT. They got me playing things I never thought possible.

  • The best ones I've used(Witch happens to be on Anthony's special Legend Guitar) are "Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots" they're 220$ new and WAAAY better, WAAAAY fatter, and WAAAY more beefy than texas specials...

  • great lesson 5*****...Jake

  • I agree with one of the posters above -- as good as this lesson is, I would've liked to see more on the right hand technique aspect.

Still, it's Hendrix and it's completely free, so awesomeness is not lost :D

  • Nice to see you doing some Hendrix. I would love a full Killing Floor from you!

  • probably one of the most important things thats missing from this is your right hand technique.

Its nothing more than old bluesman and jazzer's playing their guitar like a high-hat. You keep the beat going with your hand, and dampen anything u don't want to hear, but instead have a percussive beat that goes along with the drummer.

It's an essential for playing in the pocket.

  • It's there! It's in the sound! Very basic pattern. Check out the beginning about 1:45. No intricate picking or anything. Just simple rhythm strumming.

  • I just stuffed a big fat spring in my Dunlop crybaby from hell, can't wait to try it out along to this masterclass !!

    Funkin' immense!! :D

  • my hands are too friggen small for the grip style

  • @fenderbender149 trust me dude you can find a way to make it work, mine are small too but if you work your hands enough you can get this caged style going to a degree.. guys like john mayer, frusciante, or hendrix all had/have big ass hands but that doesn't mean you can't pull off a similar sound

  • That's a killer sounding wah! Very vocal.

  • this is just like the lick or very much the same as category 4: lick 2 lesson 2 of the "5 box essential lick" I learn how to incorporate my thumb in playing/rocking out.... this is mind-blowing!!! thanx.

this lesson was fun but too easy. step it up! like the last vid you put out (Hendrix cord tricks)

  • The great thing about all your videos is that I wanna pick up my guitar as soon as possible. Great stuff.

  • no but for real i just punk upped some funk and i think it sounds sick

  • ive been wanting to get a wah for the past 6 months, this just made me wanna cry....im so poor HAHAHAHAH

  • @ptdatnurpipensmkit

If you start crying you'll have plentay of Wah.

  • @parigod *BA DUM..PSHHH!!*

  • @parigod your probably a "cry baby!" aaaaawwww yeaahh!!

  • What kind of wah are you using, Anthony?

    Thanks.

  • These lessons should be featured on the YouTube front page! I have yt to come across more comprehensive and entertaining tutorials on YT and I have seen them all.

    Great job man!

  • you might wanna check out user drixtone, he's not talking much about stuff but you he sometimes explains about the solos and you can really see "how to" and all, the guy is Angel Reca, definitely one of the most experienced players on youtube, his drixtone channel is for practice (lessons on bends and vibratos and some licks to learn), handtricks is his normal channel. My most favourite youtuber!

  • Well thank you! I'll definitely check hm out.

But Anthony is still amaizing IMO.

  • Yeah I think Anthony does it more like "how to" and explaining things, Angel is just a great player showing his technique from a close angle with some tips around it sometimes, but most of the time it's just as you knew "what" but wanna watch "how" exactly

  • Nice, I find this kind of muting really hard in "Can't stop" by Red hot chili peppers, but I'm not an experienced player yet.

  • Great lesson Anthony :)

  • lmao we got the same wah! XDD did you get the 2b version? I have previous A1 and it's great, although I can only use it on blues junior since I got a bad V1 tube on Ceriatone so it makes that scratchy noise when using pots (in wah too). But really great wah, has a nice quack, only if it had more bottom end. Maybe 2b has better...? congrats anyways :)

  • Wow, what an achievement.

Great video, as always, Anthony :)
