My experience with them is that they rattle a lot and have a lot of ground relay problems. They do however have a great view from the cab and they do pull despite the rattle in your bones. You could feel it for hours after going home.
you think they could have sold them too like a rail musem or a historical charity that fixes them up and gives them too places like the IRM they got some oldies they got an old C@NW passenger train still in yellow and green
no i was just making conversation ive seen UP's in your other videos are they the same or little different being here on west coast you dont see those only ones ive seen were in other posts its kinda neat too see that those are still around and not being scrapped im so used too seeing bigger loco's used for that then you see these and are like whoa
Ok. I see. CN got these SW1500s when they took over Wisconsin Central in 2001. They have repainted a lot of them in their own paint scheme with WC reporting marks, but 1560 was left unpainted as of this video.
Kinda ironic that they didn't scrap these, but did scrap the much bigger and more powerful SD45s. Must've needed switchers more than road power, but you'd think they could have found an RR buyer. CN has an unfortunate habit of retiring and scrapping running engines.
Very Cool, Great Video, and i see in Jan. / 2011 this CN SW1500 is still in WC paint, that's cool! Thanks for posting, i love Switching!

Bring yourself to Kensucky, you can see all the Chicken Shit Xpress you can ever dream of. Seriously, like you I'm tired of CSX as well.

IRM did get one of them - one of the Operation Lifesaver ones. Do a search for "WC 7525".

Indeed, you should see what they did to the BC Rail units. Ran them to death, sold them or scrapped I believe.
