Amazing, amazing short film. Wonderful idea, and tying Conor's birth to Diarmund's recovery was the perfect way to end it.

It's also nice to see Robert Sheehan in a more sensitive, serious role. His performance as Nathan was so strong that it really did seem to define him as an actor - but after watching this, it's clear that he can pull off the serious just as well as the funny.

@ctswright Er, well, the way I interpreted it is this. First off, as was said in the film, when Conor looks back on himself, he only sees himself as he appears now, which is why he is born into a teenage body and doesn't age from that throughout the film, if that makes sense. So with that out of the way, in a purely metaphorical sense: Conor takes his first breath of life "and the story begins." Compare that to Diarmuid, at the end of the film, emerging from the bathtub, taking a breath of air,

In the beginning of the movie he says that when he pictures himself as a child, he always pictures himself as looking the same way as he does while telling the story. The whole film is him telling the story, and he always pictures himself to look the same, so that is the way we get to see him as well.

I love him so much, and I'm gonna miss him like crazy in Misfits. But I think you should all watch 'Love/Hate' it's amazing and he plays so brilliantly in it.

I think this film short is so beautiful and haunting but I am confused. Is the relationship between Conor and his brother like a Cain and Abel thing? I don't understand why Conor treats his brother the way he does. Also the end doesn't make sense. I thought Diarmuid was paralyzed how'd he pull his body out of the water?Can someone help me out?

@thelonelygrape i think conor treats his brother that way because he doesn't want his brother to feel like he has to look after him and once his brother is paralysed he tries to kill him cause whenever he sees him it reminds him off wen he pushed him off the pier thing. and at the end wen diarmuid comes out the bath he is no longer paralysed. i know that's not possible but he's back to normal
