Read this...in the company, staff called him..Boss, at home his wife called him Honey, and the kids called him Daddy!...but yet he is still one person!!!!! can you explain that?
And this clear the whole thing of the so called violence of islam : "There is no COMPULSION in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing."2:256
I am a devout Christian and the Trinity does not make sense. For example, how can three co-existent, co-equal, co-eternal, persons be one person? God by definition means 'only', 'alone', 'one'. God's attributes are not transferable. I believe the Bible The OT talks of only "one God" and the NT of "only true God" While I would not dare to say I fully understand God yet He has revealed enough of Himself for us to make sense of Him. God does not bypass our brains!
To answer question. What Jesus meant by "I and My Father Are One" is, "The way of My Father and my way are the same" e.g I am on the religion of My Father/on the same path. Jesus was telling his followers that he was calling them to the path of God and that the path of God was also his path. What he was calling them to was the way of God and that if they followed him they were also following God's way, hence "I and My father are One.
A2 Ok lets apply logic. 'God' means alone, single, one, right? God is thus alone, single and one. This creed says there is only one God yet at the same time says G + G + G = G! It also says God's substance is indivisible yet at the same time it says there are three persons: P + P + P = P! It also says omnipotence is indivisible yet at the same time it speaks of omnipotence as threefold: O + O+ O = O Have these people gone mad?
Interesting to hear a Muslim perspective on the Trinity, and how nonsensical the concept seems from the outside. His point about how one needs to step outside of their box to think clearly and analytically about things is exactly right. But every religious person needs to do this with their religion/beliefs---think critically----otherwise their religious practice is simply a brainwash.
we muslims believe that Torah and bible are speech of god revealed to his prophets Moises and Jesus (peace be upon them) but we believe also that they were distorted over time so they contain a lot of mistakes and falsifications.
On top of that we believe in quran (speech of god revealed to the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him).
@bobbo345 Thank you for asking. All prophets and God are one, symbolically : they all command what God Commands, they forbid what God Forbids. In the Hebrew semantic, they use "son of God" to design symbolically someone who believe and lives according to the Law of God. But later, all this rhetoric has been twisted and made in accordance to the pagan believes which has an anthropogenic view of God (demi-god, man god, trinity, familly-god etc..) Rome was pagan (Sol Invictus..Mythra)
The story he says in the beginning sounds like the story of Abraham and his father Terah. Abraham would laugh at his father putting food out for the idols.
Though I agree God is not a "trinity" but Jesus is God too and they're one as a Family" the Hebrew and Greek names for God agree by being plural indicating more than one.
@quest380 This is polytheism and blasphemy in the highest order. Jesus, God, and the holy ghost are NOT one God. There is only ONE God and there is no other god besides God. The plural form is the royal form/respect form as a King would say "We are not amused." If you spoke Hebrew or Arabic you'd know the semetic languages have a plural in number and a plural in respect.
@quest380 Faith is common sense! How can 2 opposites be the same? Can i be a mother and father same time? Can my cat be my begotten son? Like the creator, God cant be like His creation. If i made a spoon, can i be a spoon? Even if i wanted to, its not in my nature. Read Surah Ikhlas, the perfect way Allah (God) is described, no other religion says this. So if u love Allah then follow Him, trust Him. Look how Allah makes this message so clear to us yet some still dare to deny! Asalaamu alaykom!
Alhamdulillah, this is reallly good stuff. One mistake on the part of the guest speaker, however - when he said he was quoting Genesis, he actually was quoting the Gospel of John...
..........To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.
and there is also this verse:
[5:73] They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.
the Arabic word for Trinity is "Sallasa" and the are verses which speak about Sallasa "Trinity"
[4:171] O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son.........
and there is also the Quran challange. many verses in the Quran speake about it. here is one: [10:38] Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!"....imagine the person who wrote the book is challenging people to produce a book like this. such challenge can only be given by God and again this is another evidence which shows truly Quran is divine and Islam is the truth.
There is no contradiction in the Quran. it is said in a verse of the Quran: ".....and if it were from any other than Allah, they would have found in it many a contradictions" (4:82)....Imagine a person writing a book and challenging people that there will be no contradiction in it. such book can be only from God.
brothers and sisters thank you for your help and i would like to say that dont get me wrong. i myself am a Muslim and accepted Islam by my own choice. there is alot of overwhelming evidence for the truth of Islam. this is just a issue raised by Christians that this verse is a so called contradiction to the concept of Trinity so i only need some clarification on this point and i didn't mean to attack Islam. so sorry if i did anything bad.
Gods blessings & peace 2 all. I am a believer of Jesus the Christ & Son of God because the Word instructs us to believe that way. However, the Bible also informs us to seek God & to study and show thyself approved. For that reason I thank you for having these discussions & challenging the status quo. So, I have some simple ?s: Why should we not consider Jesus as the Son of God when the prophets foretold of His coming as The Son of God In Luke 1:32 & states that he's taking the throne of David?
Hello DaScribe. Thank you for asking about Islam. As you know, in Islam, we are forbidden to lie, so everything I say will be honest. Also in Islam, we have faith and evidence, the truth and the proof, so I can back up what I am saying. Finally, if after I explain the answer to you, you feel like you agree with me, that what I'm saying makes sense, and you even think you might like Islam for yourself, are you prepared to become a Muslim, and worship God the way He wants to be worshipped?
First of all, I want you to understand the meaning of "Islam." Islam is an Arabic word meaning sincere submission, surrender, and peaceful obedience to God's will on His terms. Automatically as a Christian you should have no problem with this basic definition. We believe that God has always sent prophets to mankind to teach the basic message of Islam; to worship God alone with no partners, and to do good deeds. You know the names of many of the prophets, as their names are in the Bible.
In Islam, we believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) was one of God's prophets, and I know you believe this too because it is mentioned in the Bible in statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh). We believe that Jesus (pbuh) was born miraculously of his mother Mary, and that God sent the Angel Gabriel to announce to her that she would conceive miraculously. However, the account in Luke chapter 1 we disagree with, and find it to be in error. As you may know, the Bible itself has gone through changes.
Despite the best efforts of the true and best followers of Jesus Christ (pbuh), people were able to alter and change the records that existed, and in other cases destroy documents that supported an understanding that conflicted with their own. This is the sad history of the Bible. Amazingly, God preserved a significant portion of truth that stands clearly from the falsehood that does exist there.
In the verse you mentioned, Gabriel tells Mary about who Jesus (pbuh) will be, but we cannot...
...necessarily trust that account. This leaves us in a state of confusion. However, God would not allow this confusion to persist, so, as you will see, God sent another messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to, among other things, clarify who Jesus (pbuh) really was.
In the Qur'an, which is the literal verbatim word of God, the true account of Gabriel's announcement to Mary is revealed to us by God Himself. Remember what I said before, we have the proof and the truth. This is the true account:
"[And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah]. He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He...
By the way, Allah is the Arabic word for God, not a different God, but the One True God of Abraham. I recommend you read the rest of the chapter, as it speaks a lot about Jesus pbuh), as well as chapter 19, titled the chapter of Mary (Surah Maryam).
Now that I have explained it to you, do remember what I said earlier? Are you ready to start worshiping Allah the way He wants you to worship Him, alone without partners?
thank you for your help and support brother. i prayed to Allah that he should help me with this issue and Alhamdulillah he did. i did alot of research on the internet to find whether Christians considered Mary to be divine and Alhamdulillah found some good info. that verse which i showed u is not talking about trinity but it is talking about "Marian devotions" which is also know as the "Catholic Mariolatry"..this something which is still practiced today by Catholics.
i have send u a message to show that article about Marian devotions so u can understand. well so we come to the conclusion that this verse doesn't speak about Trinity and since Quran is the book for all people. it addresses to Christians,Jews,Pagans,Atheists etc. so similarly it addresses to the Christians who practice Marian devotions in that verse. but now there are verses in the Quran which speak about trinity. ill show them......
Also, you seem to misunderstand it. It clearly means that Allah will ask Jesus, son of Mary, if he ever told people to worship him and his mother, and Jesus will say that he never said that because he had no right to say it.
How in the world can you read this and think it says anything about a trinity between Prophet Jesus, Mary, and Allah? Your English (and Arabic) must not be very good.
Sister, please refrain from being insulting. Brother Hussam is just asking a question. He is, from what I know, a sincere brother just looking for some clarification. Even if he was asking this question with hostility, as Muslims, it is still our responsibility to reply with kindness wa Allahu alam.
116. And (remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allâh?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my innerself though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the AllKnower of all that is hidden and unseen.
so according to the Quran the Trinity is union of Mary and Jesus with God as 3 in 1 but according to Christians it is Jesus, Holy spirit and God as 3 in 1......so isnt this a contradiction?......pls tell me how do u debunk this claim!!!
Either your English is very poor that you cannot understand the quote you put forward from the Quran, or you are here to cause mischief. Please clarify what part of the verse you quoted hints towards the 3 in 1 theory.
Assalaamu alaikum akhi. I have had them throw this one at me too, but there really isn't anything to it. There are many Christians who worship Mary, pray to her directly, kneel at her statues, and call her the Mother of God astughfirullah. This verse, while mentioning two partners that Christians associate with Allah, is not talking about the trinity. As we know, the mainstream version of the trinity is associating Jesus (as) and Jibril (as) as partners with Allah, wa Allahu alam.
[5:116] And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.
Assallam-u-Allaikum....brothers and sisters. i have a serious question which i want to ask. The Trinity according to the Christians is the union of the Father and Son and Holy Ghost in one Godhead. but it is said in the verse of the Quran........
in many places in the bible Jesus is referred to as a prophet , Matt 21:10-11 Who is this?" So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." Luke 24:19 And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people," John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."
MaashaaALLAH...... My uncle was trapped in a trap of confusions made by a christian jamath,,,,... He knew a few about deenul Islam and he went to know about Christianity, those christians are making use of his ignorance and illitracy about Islam,....
May ALLAH 4give him and follow the most true and straight path and grant him Hidayah.
@iam4akhir call him right now and start discussing with him! Allah will hold you accountable if you had the knowledge and did not save him from christianity!
If you feel you can't talk to him, you have a moral obligation to seek help from other Muslims in your area who would be able to explain to him in a kind and wise manner.
@iam4akhir The bible has been intepreted form hebrew and other languages. It uses more than one word for GOD. So each word means somthing different and in English we do not make the distinction. Elohim, Aboni,YHWH,Elshadi, each name means somthing different. Elohim for instance means' team" or the" God head". Many people believe that the christian overcomers will one day be part of the GOD HEAD......
Brother, it is really saddening to hear of your uncle.
Would it be possible for me to contact him somehow? OR better still, could it somehow be possible for me to talk to the deceiving Christian missionaries in order to give them a befitting response? I can give you my email ID if you need it.
I do not look for any glory or recognition amongst people. It is the responsibility of EVERYONE in the Ummah to protect and exhort each other in upholding the Deen. May Allah SWT help us all.
inshaALLAH, just let me know if U need his contact number, I dont think he uses email or internet anymore....
also help me with good dawa materials for the purpose...
once my brother happlened to meet him and he was asking questions like ""Why is makka a holy place, there no such place like holy place, and it is his own house which is holy to him"", I dont think is rejects ALLAH, but looks like he dont agree with the fact that Muhammed Rasoolullah(pbuh) is the final prophet..
he continues asking some other silly questions about Quran,....etc.
all in all he is brainwashed by those christ descievers, because he knew only a little about deenul Islam....
He use to be a music directer/teacher in Dubai, his father(who was similar to an Awlia) always hated it and was never satisfied with the disobedience even at the time of passing away. I think this music relation might have made him directed towards "people of MUSIC"(christians)
For those that believe in the trinity I suggest that you read John 17:3
English Standard Version (ESV)
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the ONLY TRUE God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (caps are for emphasis)

thank you for your help and support brother. i prayed to Allah that he should help me with this issue and Alhamdulillah he did. i did alot of research on the internet to find whether Christians considered Mary to be divine and Alhamdulillah found some good info. that verse which i showed u is not talking about trinity but it is talking about "Marian devotions" which is also know as the "Catholic Mariolatry"..this something which is still practiced today by Catholics.

@dawahaddict
i have send u a message to show that article about Marian devotions so u can understand. well so we come to the conclusion that this verse doesn't speak about Trinity and since Quran is the book for all people. it addresses to Christians,Jews,Pagans,Atheists etc. so similarly it addresses to the Christians who practice Marian devotions in that verse. but now there are verses in the Quran which speak about trinity. ill show them......

Psalms ch.2 verse 6 doesnt say what he said at 25:50
uNamed2lyfe 1 year ago
Also, you seem to misunderstand it. It clearly means that Allah will ask Jesus, son of Mary, if he ever told people to worship him and his mother, and Jesus will say that he never said that because he had no right to say it.
How in the world can you read this and think it says anything about a trinity between Prophet Jesus, Mary, and Allah? Your English (and Arabic) must not be very good.

Easy: Illiteracy still plagues the world. Hussam displays this fact.

Ittaqallah. Do not treat your brother with such harshness.
dawahaddict 1 year ago

Here is a more correct translation of that verse:

so according to the Quran the Trinity is union of Mary and Jesus with God as 3 in 1 but according to Christians it is Jesus, Holy spirit and God as 3 in 1......so isnt this a contradiction?......pls tell me how do u debunk this claim!!!
thank you
XxXxhussamxXxX 1 year ago

The Trinity according to the Christians is the union of the Father and Son and Holy Ghost in one Godhead. but it is said in the verse of the Quran........

in many places in the bible Jesus is referred to as a prophet , Matt 21:10-11 Who is this?" So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." Luke 24:19 And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people," John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."

respecting other religions doesn't mean we can't criticize them, muslims have confused 'respect' and 'criticism'

If you feel you can't talk to him, you have a moral obligation to seek help from other Muslims in your area who would be able to explain to him in a kind and wise manner.

@iam4akhir jzkallahu khayran for your desire to enjoin good and forbid evil. To deal with this situation, I would suggest a three step approach:
a) you yourself watch lectures/discussions like this video, and read about the arguments for/against trinity/christianity.
b) you talk with your uncle about what you learnt in a kind, confident and sure manner.
c) After personally discussing, give him links to the material you reviewed.
This channel has many lectures on these topics.
