  • ....si ploau, si ploau...Superb!

  • I see there are six people that absolutely have no taste what so ever.

so so sad. Like to see what they think is good, No i wouldn't

  • And to think, This group didn't like this song and didn't think that it was going to go anywher for them. Oh how wrong they were. One of the most beautiful love songs in history. But that's just my judgement.

  • Brought back memories enjoyed it but doesn't this sound similar to Diana Ross' cover of "Ain't no mountain high enough" I wonder which one was first.

  • Love this song, it's cool the way Barry talks on the phone in the end of the song, true love! ooh, let me find some rain! love rain!

  • my three sisters in Brooklyn 79 south 6 st,with Becky singing together wow, memories love this. love this record it sounds nice.

  • @dantegx8 I was raised in Bed-Stuyvesant on Reid ave. (renamed MLK) So what section of B'KLN was 79 South 6th?

  • Well this of course is always related to the late and very very great Barry. RIP, you are always with us, a reminder of how love might be but never is, how i wish i could have spent just one day in this state of mind, sigh

  • I was a third grader when this song hit. My classmates and I would always be at the radio just so that we could talk about what we heard the night before. This song, for me is associated with that time in my young life. WVON was the radio station that was the listened to. Nicknamed the "Black Giant" it was. Long before there was "urban contemporary." There was just music. This was also before the corporations took over radio.

  • "Let me tell you how it started".....OMG. So much emotion right there...makes you think about the sexy story she's about to tell.

  • million dollar question, who is the male singer on this track? please answer...

  • i know i was at least 5 the last time i heard this song!

  • Best INTRO EVER! I came here to hear that intro.

  • what a classic - or is it just me.

fell in love to this - I was just 16, but hey did it FEEL real... ha ha

  • Love Rap, Love Hiphop, Love R&B, Love Soul, Love Funk, Love Disco. I love it all, the past, present, and future. It's all Good!

  • HOLLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not heard this since I was 7! I somehow remember the "I love walking in the rain...." part all my life. As a kid I nearly got in some major trouble because I thought the singers were saying "f-ing". So this morning on 2011 I typed "i love walking in the rain feels so fine" into Google and get "Love Unlimited Walking in the rain with the one I love" as lyrics and high-tailed it over here to YouTube and suddenly, I am back riding in the station wagon....

  • @NEXPAR I can relate to you because for the longest , i thought that New Years song , Auld Land Syne , i thought they saying old ass times.............lol

  • WOW, surprised some talentless peice of shit rapper hasn't sampled this classic and RUINED it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @use2slam2 oh yeah they did i think ice t sampled it but i sampled this in 1999 still have it reallly nice mpc 200xl

  • LOVE this from my young days ;))) thanks a lot :**

  • qvole to all the vato locos in califas

  • As with all the music in the70's I was young, however 30 yrs later I now understand and feel their meaning and purpose spiritually , mentally and physically. Sometimes I smile form the happiness I felt doing those times. Now I wish that I can dedicate these meanings to some sister who can not only appreciate them ...............but me.

  • in mexico great song in year 70 classic

  • sod it i've caught a cold now he he

  • Que rica melodia, la amo. I love "love unlimited".

Do you become the rain? oh yes

  • Que rica melodia, la amo. I love "love unlimited"

  • Que rica melodia, la amo

  • How did we go from BEAUTIFUL soul music like this to today's vulgar hip/hop rap/crap?

  • @mrob75 when producers started sampling this and the less privileged could relate to hip hop topics instead of love and romance...i agree alot of todays rappers are crap but dont be narrow minded about 'hip hop'

check out mos def, talib kweli, J. Cole--> great storytellers, great minds, and great mc's

  • @undermisensiOPC I thought about your comment. I would have to disagree about the less privileged being unable to relate to love and romance. These are two concepts that transend money. Regarding hip hop, I still kinda' feel that 50 years from now acts like the Love Unlimited will reign supreme vs. any contemporary hip hop act.

  • brings back memories love it

  • this song has only 8 secs of barry and still you expect it since you started to listen :)

  • Lovely song...I see that there are some racist bitches trying to ruin a good moment....you know who you are.

  • @BigMamaMayhem Don't even stoop to their level.

  • THIS IS BABY MAKEN MUSIC .......YA AT ITS FINEST

  • Hey Man, take a look out the window and see what's happening.

Hey man. It's raining. It's raining outside, man.

Oh, don't worry 'bout that. Everything's gonna be real nice. Just gonna sit back and groove on a rainy day.

    sniff sniff....cough cough....Yeah. I see what you mean, Bro. Just sit back and groove on a rainy day ;-}

  • Barry had a great gift for melody and harmony...no question

  • i've heard sum dif. beats made off this sample... all dope... could anyone tell me some examples though? i cant find them

  • Anyone ever hear the song Ice-T sampled this on? "Walking in the Rain"

  • Endless hits... Cant wait until it rains!

  • They knew how to make music then :)

  • I just love this song so much i just discovered it, and this keeps playin in my head. so great.

  • this is a fantasy song..if more blacks got out in the rain..they might LOOK cleaner

  • @teehonky Great quote! Don't mind me if I steal that one.

  • as a little kid i substituted "fu**in" for walkin in the rain. cuz that's what it sounded like. and it definitely put you in that frame of mind.

  • @GaryColinGATEX2418 hahahaha, a dirty mind is a joy forever.

But anyway... I made me laugh reading this.

  • @GaryColinGATEX2418 hahahaha, a dirty mind is a joy forever.

  • I remember watching her in 1973 on TV , I was 8 years old , the clip was black and white , she was laying down on a sofa singing , then at the end she sat and dialled on an old style phone with a revolving dial , and talked so sweetly , one of the best memories from childhood

  • damn this song brings back so many memories.

  • Classic!

  • I knew it was a smash when I hear barry White's voice late in the son on the monologue...Universal Records multicolored 45 rpm I remember very well.

  • I wish i could find a girl to write me a song this nice..Thumbs up

  • my first girlfriend of the 70s (lets just call her Carlie) NEVER liked the rain..when she dumped me on that cold rainy morning in february 1972, I thought my heart would NEVER heal..but SOMETHING gave me the STReNGTH to PUSH her HEADFIRST into a MUD puddle and MOVE ON with my life....sniff..memories

  • @2phillysangel Pleasure.

  • Rainy Sunday

  • One other beautiful song they did besides this classic one was "Sharing a Little love in Your Heart" which came later on. If you can find that one to post that will be delightful!

  • Plus the bass playing at the end. You couldn't do that on a pop record now. And I think 10 cc copped it for "I'm Not In Love"

  • it was raining outside when i played this tune

  • saaie muziek!

  • It is so cool to read a comment from my home town San Jose, I went to Ocala Middle School

  • Pistachio*

  • Comment removed

  • And dig that sick bass playing at the end. Think it influenced 10cc's "I'm Not In Love." Records use to be so individualistic and quirky.

  • This was around the same time when the group honeycomb sang that song "Clean up woman". or that song about "Highway Robbery".

  • It would be very nice to hear what kind of version the Baseballs can do of this, maybe an great one, I`m waiting for that...

  • Thanks so much! It has been (nearly) 40 years since I have heard this song. I used to do the dialogue for my friend in High School and she would CRACK up.

  • @annachestnut That's funny. I can see it in my head.

  • brings back my days in good old new london. junior high, never get those days back, anyone remember?? great sound.

  • Amen to that

  • This was before Barry snatched the mic out of Glodeen's hands. That phone call should have been to Empire (That's a Chicago Insider joke!)

  • Such a sweet memory, i was 13 yrs old and so in love with a girl named Aida Garza. Only trouble was that she didn't love me LOL. Sure wish I could go back to my home in East los Angeles back to those days. So many people and family I had back then are gone now.

  • this is the shit

  • THIS MY FUCKEN SONG ESE........... MUWWAHZZZ..

vCHOPPERSX12 SUR PWS... LOVE YOU BABY..

  • love this song grew up listening to it

  • The moment when Barry White appears in this song, the tinkling piano notes that appear in the background, reminds me of the groove that plays throughout Rhianna's classic 'Umbrella' song.

    What do you think?

  • Fuck that wack "umbrella" shit. This is classic and has been sampled many times by much better artists...

  • The difference with this song and rhianna's song is that she seems to be talking about being there for a friend if their sad. This song "walking in the rain with the one i love" is about pure true love. Adult classic love and the day rhianna can bring barry's bass voice into the song then we can talk lol. This tune is timeless. You can tell grown folks are being personal. A few words said on the phone while the rain drops in the background. Classic.

  • I love this song , memories of childhood

  • I so adore this song. it brings back child-hood memories.I was just 11 yrs. when this song came out,now i'm in my mid 40's.I thank god for the net and youtube, every day!!!

  • Me too, I always knew this would become a real classic. Such a beautiful song and such pretty sentiment. Long ago, far away, and so very, very deep inside....

  • I agree with forest2city. Its beautiful.

  • Even as children in 1972 in sixth grade when this cut was released we knew then that this would be a classic. And here we are.

  • gr8 song...u sholda put some stills while u recorded dis, dude!

  • LOVE IT!

Heard it in a Ice t song

  • I had no idea all of these years that the man's voice who answered the phone was Barry White. wow....The things we learn as we get older. Beautiful song, and beautiful Barry White. This man was a talent.

  • The piano and the bass that comes in at the telephone call from 3:10 until the end, is fire. They should us that instumental part in a movie, druing a crucial moment or scene.

  • You got a point, they should have used that version you are talkin about in Love Jones when they were out in the rain. Matter of fact there are alot of movies especially afam that should be using more classic soul music. They would definitely enhance the scenes and most importantly the movies. Movies now(most of them) just put songs anywhere without really understanding how a song can take that scene to another level.
