  • The Roots has staying power because talent goes a long way.

  • Lovin the Fela Kuti Inspiration.......... This is hot!

  • Daaam. P.O.R.N's flow was craaazy. pity he has such an unfortunate name.

  • @AetherKael yeah, good luck finding P.O.R.N with a google search.

  • wow noone got brought here by the NLCS???? It was on there game 3 im shocked

  • i can't help but to wine my waist to this one!!

  • I can't wait to see ya'll for Jazz Fest 2011. I will be there baby! So underrated but what can u expect when mfs selling they souls and killing their families for the limelite. So ya'll right don't f*ckin apologize.

  • THE BEST ... THE ONLY ... REAL LIVE BAND HIP HOP !!!

  • RISING DOWN WAS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF 08!

  • YES THIS ALBUM IS SICK! I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS......THIS IS SICK! I DIG THIS!

  • HELL YES!!! Shakim the Communicator on Facebook turn your boy on 2 this crackin ass song!! Are those some ASWAD samples up in this muthafucka? 20 STARS OFF TOP!!!

  • This Fela Sample is DOPE!!!!!!

  • yes i will not apologise either ..fuck wannabees

  • yall crazy black thought murked this beat.

  • P.O.R.N on the first verse. friggin mental. such a unique flow. he was the most comfortable and dynamic on this beat IMO.

  • @AetherKael He was almost off beat, but it works. This takes me back to real hip-hop.

  • @callmetw 'they" call it "groove", cousin. and im kinda surprised you noticed that -but in retrospect thats wasup ^^ real hip hop indeed. glad to see people are still appreciating this song and this album. not to mention this calibre of hip hop(!)

  • I thought Game Theory is dark, but with this album they got even darker....It's good, but still I love Game Theory more.

  • I love it! Expose the fakeness of the busines; and the fake artist living behind illusionary-images.

  • Roots ALWAYS come correct. Easily among the most consistent hip hop crews next to Gangstarr in history. Always reinvented and innovated but never EVER came wack.

  • I like this sample... Stoupe used this sample for Canibus back on Poet Laureate II a few years before this came out. Used well here too.

  • Is that Talib on the chorus?

  • Sounds like it.

  • i love thiiis

  • i like playing this in my car! :D

  • This song is soooooo nasty good

  • This beat is a sample of "Mr Grammarticologylisationalism is the Boss" by FELA KUTI.

    The afrobeat master.

  • There needs to be a Rising Down Instrumental album because the beats are too dope.

  • This beat is sick as shit. If I had beats like this and something like the beat from "In the music" on Game Theory. I would Eat, Eat, Eat, MC's!!! Black is the realest.

  • killa flows - all three of em.. especially black. hella sick ass beat.

  • P.O.R.N.'s verse is sick.

  • ...awesome Fela beat (Mr. Grammar) and matching dark lyrics. Nice to see Quest doing the Tony Allen drum thing.

Props to The Roots crew. Afrobeat forever.

  • poop thanks for sharing this link...

  • i love this song (:

my cuzins showed me itttt (:

    <3=]

  • I got this CD when it came out and this track immediately got my attention. I thought I was losing my mind cause I heard Kweli in the Chorus but no verse. Sick song, would have been sicker with a Kweli verse, but this (or Singing Man) is my favorite song off the album.

  • I agree, Kweli always has great lyrics

  • @unccrazy333 yeah kweli is a MONSTER!

  • what fela song is this?

  • Mr. Grammarticalogylisationalism Is the Boss - long title, i know.

  • "Mr. Grammar" or, to give you the full title, "Mr. Grammaticalogylisation is the Boss". Really had to get hold of.

  • this album is f**king dark

  • & f**king krazy

  • dark as in morbid or dark as in totally banging (for want of a better word)?

  • dark as in low keys, hard beats and depressing political lyrics... on the nowrwegian release of the album, "birthday girl" was included, but that track is kinda out of style of the album. This is a good album, but does not compare to "game theory" which is in my opinion one of the best hip hop albums of all time...

  • game theory is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO underrated

  • Dice Raw, my nigga you murked this shit

  • Sippin on a English brew or whatever they think we do

Sprayin double Uzi's cause you know they think we live in zoos

dope they way he rides the beat

  • I love this group, they came to my hometown twice and i missed them both times. I will not let that happen again.

    I feel Dice Raw's verse.

  • Nice one,

  • Really good song!

  • mikeeo2 i'm totally agreeing wiyh what u just said. the roots rule the hip hop

  • nice song but im dissapointed by no kweli verse

  • I love Thought's verse on this song. He tore this one up!

  • exactly.... once again the roots deliver.. so why do people still by ""hip-pop" shite!!!!!

oh...and they're BY FAR one of the hardest working bands in music...NAME ANOTHER HIP-HOP ARTIST / GROUP THAT CAN PUT TTOGETHER 10 TIGHT ALBUMS AND STILL TOUR 3/4 OF EACH YEAR!!!!

  • @mikeeo2 Because them Niggas is BRAINWASHED FAM!!!

  • @mikeeo2 KRS One

  • oh my goodness, a real Rap Song in 2008! We need more shit like this!!!!

  • why do people still buy that shite? because 'they don't get it'...
