They should have made a few more SS characters regulars on the Muppet Show in addition to Kermit. You know, to give them a more all-age edge as opposed to the "merely educational" utility they have on SS.

Count von Count's more sinister persona could have been fleshed out in The Muppet Show and with the rest of the Muppet gang (as opposed to being merely a kid's character). Ernie and Bert could have done more non-kid things too.

Plus, they should add Statler and Waldorf onto Sesame Street, specifically after Elmo segments.

Their commentary on the inanity of that red bugger would be invaluable.
