Extremely difficult. The amount of height and spin on the ball not only makes it nearly impossible, it'll make the ball easier to kill because the ball, if he tries to drop it short will be high and long. And with the mechanics of that shot, the signs will be easy to read, which will give him plenty of time to run in, and kill the attempted drop ball .

@AznBoi07 I would like to add. It's indeed extremely difficult but is not impossible (or nearly impossible) at all. Ma-lin did it numerous times. But the problem is most players have better training and foundations in smashing instead of giving it a drop shots; most of the times, drop shots are tried out of players' inspiration.

@Skyvesz Observe very carefully. It first hits the top of the net (sort of bounces on it) and then bounces on the other side of the table. Due to the camera position, one may think that it bounced on the table the first time as well, but it actually bounced on the net. Remember that his backhand had some top spin and it is highly unlikely that a top-spin hit from that distance and with that speed will bounce twice. Also, notice the complete loss of speed after the first hit.
