@Brenda2OOO I agree. Michael Keaton is so sexy to me. I think his mouth might have something to do with it and the fact that he is one of the best male actors.
I think the reason why Keaton for me is better than Bale is that you're rooting for Keaton, but at the same time your put off by him because you know he's got a couple screws loose in his head. You can see by the look of his face in his performance that he's crazy. Bale's not bad he's clearly a good actor, but they definitely could have a better man. He doesn't have the darker edge like Keaton.
I THINK.. I'M TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU GUYS, KEATON WAS THE BEST BATMAN EVER.....BALE, KILMER AND CLOONEY , THEY ARE ALL GREAT ACTORS ,BUT KEATON WAS THE BEST OF ALL THEM, HIS EYES, HIS FACE, HIS VOICE, HE DID A GREAT JOB ..AND NOT ONLY HIM, DANY ELFMAN MADE A GREAT MUSIC SCORE FOR THE FILM AND TIM BURTON DID A REALLY GREAT JOB TOO..
"he brought his bat-suit to the premier the other night and he and i putted it in the bag it were his idea and stuck it under the thing. i sit down next to him// i had one made by ??? costume you know, and he actually brought it like: wif there's trouble, I'm ready!'"
in my eyes no one can do batman like him, the tim burton ones were 100% true to the comics i think! dark, gothic, abit of "camp comedy style" to it, even the joel schumacher ones were, the design, costumes, story lines, look and way the whole films are, are so much like the coics, nolan has made them sooo unbelievablly modernised, no design to them really, but theyre still brilliant and dark aswell, more emotional and more focus on the characters, more real to believe aswell xD
thats so cute with his son and the batsuit... reminds me of myself.. I sometimes when I was young wore my batman suit under my regular clothes to school, for just the same reason, "maybe theres trouble and I can change and be a hero..." good times.. having the imagination of a child.. nostalgic.
I think Keaten was good for Burton's image, but I like Christian Bale's Batman for Chris Nolan's 21st Century Batman films. But Keaten's Batman voice wasn't as bad as Bale's in TDK.
Hollywood Sucks imagine if we had a Tim Burton Batman Saga for 3 or 4 movies? I do love the new Franchise Bale sucks & without Heath Ledgers Joker The Dark Knight would have been boring
Batman & Batman Returns will always be two of my favorite Batman Movies always. This is how stupid Hollywood can be, they ax Tim Burton/Keaton for a lighter Batman Franchise & go the super colorful Batman:Forever Route which was cool thanks to Jum Carrey but that led to the craptastic Batman & Robin & the death of the Franchise Then 8 years later they want a Darker Batman story to reboot Batman Franchise & Boom Batman begins is born.
@TheAzraelKnight i think deidrich bader and bruce greenwood deserve to be up there too. and hey, what about adam west? sure he was just a spoof batman, but a batman no less! =)
@xviolentphilx yes deidrich bader is a pretty good batman, but no where near the level of conroy. greenwood isnt good, but he isnt bad. and west .............well west ......................west was west.
@TheAzraelKnight oh c'mon man. no where near?..that's harsh. i'd say he's close, just not there. rino romano isn't anywhere near conroy, but bader and greenwood are. greenwood is gonna prove you wrong in the new young justice animated series.
and dude, bader was SO GOOD in "chill of the night."
@xviolentphilx sorry i should re word that. i do think deidrich is a great batman, but he isnt as good as conroy.i thought romano was good. And i just cant get in to greenwood, it could be because im so used to conroy and i like his voice acting the most.
Best Batman movie other than the Animated one made in 93 (Mask of the Phantasm). I remember seeing this movie at a dollar movie theater in Beckley WV.
I remember the "Gino" attitude... an 80s phenomenon... spilled over into the early 90s too. What is a guy from Western Pennsylvania doing, talking like a wiseguy? It was a Cold War era cultural expectation to make everyone feel "mainstream". The only remnant we have today is the "Valley Girl" for females with slight variations in intonations and vocabulary. What an eye opener. I used to talk that way too. If I do it today, post 9/11...hahaha. Now it's, "Thank you. Come again."
@AliAbraham51 I've always wondered why women feel the need to talk like that -- make themselves sound like a total bimbo. I'd like them better if they'd just use their God-given inflection.
He's the most serious and disturbed Batman yet. I don't care if he doesn't look manly and can pout and use a throat crushed voice or not. He's the most realistic and disturbed Batman yet.
Well put, thanks for agreeing with me. Well said, he does bring the most humanity to it. Nice choice of words, makes more sense than some of what I said.
@lenerene very true. Bale seems like he'd beat the hell out of you but Keaton's Batman seems like he would just kill you. And if I remember from the first movie he did kill a few bad guys in the first two films. Keaton plays creepy very well.
@RASOOL28 ya, but he killed them after he found out joker killed his parents, before then he would just beat the crap out of people and say "I'm batman"
@lenerene I agree wholeheartedly, there is just something about his Batman - that eclipses all others - his look, his demeanour in the suit - he is just perfect, and as amazing an actor as Bale certainly is - he just isnt right for Batman for me.
One thing I loved about Keaton's Batman is truly no one would suspect him. You saw him pain and mourning but he hid it like the comic. If someone was like 'He's batman' everyone would laugh. With Christian Bale it'd be like 'Yea, he might be Batman, that guy is pretty weird'. I thought Keaton was great casting
ya but it just reminds me of that scene in Good Will Hunting, where Matt Damon tells the guy at the bar that he recited a quote from a book and pawned it off as his own. no hard feelings buddy, but its good to see a fellow NC viewer
I was surprised to find out he was 20th Century Fox's original choice to play in 'The Fly' (1986), but turned it down. He also was considered to play 'Jack Sparrow' in 'Pirates of the Carribbean' (2003) However, I'm not sure if he turned that one down or the chose Depp over him.
He had a border collie too! My sweet baby Sherri was just like the one in Babe. She had a bit of husky too I think. A 50 buck petstore pup rescue I never knew. I had her from 92-2000. I woke up to her having a massive seizure. Being poor I couldnt treat it and had to put her to sleep. She wanted to play but I couldnt chance a seizure. I cried for 2yrs daily and wanted to die. Alone and childless you get so attached. Michael just made me cry. Dusty sounds like her. I have not had a dog since.
Funny sexy and cerebral with a dash of crazy -- HOT!

Keaton seemed like a strange choice at the time, but I think most people agree he was excellent, both as Bruce Wayne and as Batman.
