  • @Crichjo32

    You are not allone. ^^

I think the "Silmarillion" Trillogy will come. Earendil as the hero maybe or 3 heros for each age?

And in the beginning there was only Iluvatar and the Valar, Maiar and so on.

He was like the father, they were like his children. I think that picture would be a good intro.

Maybe with a short view on the child who wander alone, away from the group. Melkor of course. And only fans would realize who he is. With a voice introducing us like in Lord of the Rings.

  • Hey, why everyone's drawing Nolofinwe's hair blond? It was said in Silmarillion, that only Arafinwe and his children was fair-haired. Even Ted Nasmith don't see this -.-'' Eh, it annoying.

  • very few of those drawings are good

for an epic battle from tolkien's world

    this is pretty bad

  • the bravest elf that ever lived

  • @wubafwez Feanor had more guts , he stood against all the Valar not just Melkor.

  • and I'd just like to say, it's terribly sad that Morgoth has been reduced to the name of a stupid death metal band I mean, for "creative artists" (lol) they sure have an un-creative name. And how'd they get the rights to that anyways?

  • this was one of my favorite stories in the Silmarillion...nothing beats "Of Beren and Lúthien," but this is a great story too.

  • People who have never read Tolkien's books but have seen the LoTR movie trilogy think that Sauron was the ultimate evil in Middle Earth and Arda. Let me tell you, Melkor / Morgoth was far, far more powerful. Sauron was only his apprentice and underling. Melkor was the equivalent of Satan in Tolkien's cosmology. Basically, the God of Evil. By the way, lovely illustrations!

  • Who is the artist of the drawing at 0:21? And do you know where I could download a copy of this?

  • Some wonderful renderings of this most epic of battles! There seems to be an argument about Morgoth being giant, to which I would say: The fact the Tolkien makes it clear that Grond is creating giant craters in the earth, would suggest that the weapon is wielded by someone of incredible size. Also, the idea that Fingolfin is much smaller than Morgoth makes the battle that much more heart-rending, and triumphant , and sad. Great artwork!

  • Actually I suspect Morgoth is massive (but I haven't officially confirmed that yet :) :) although I can confirm that rumor about Satan. Morgoth is really nothing like Deevil the devil. The devil will always beat him at the waltz & he won't be able to blame it on a wounded foot. However, I suspect in the company of Morgoth dancing would not be the priority. Middle Earth is a great place to go husband shopping, cept I picked up a few too many. :) :)

  • Good vid execellent compilation of pics, shame no music ofc!

  • I wish they could make a film version of this story in the same vein as the LOTR movies, just so I could see this fight! This would be one of the most epic and intense battles ever on screen, and Morgoth would be an incredibly fearful villain. Unlike Sauron in LOTR you can actually see him, and he comes out and does battle, instead of hiding in his tower like a lazy ass dork.

  • @Crichjo32 I don't think it would be possible to film the silmarillion. It's way more complicated than lotr and doesn't have one storylie. It's more like a bundle of stories. And after he got his foot poked by Fingolfin he never left his stronghold again except to get his ass thrown into the void. But I agree, it would be awesome to see this fight.

  • @Crichjo32 Well, it is quite hard for Sauron to do anything considering he has no physical body. But when he had, he fought.

  • @Crichjo32 dont say crazy things

  • Great pictures! It is such a pity that the video has been muted, because with music (I am sure you chose one that fittet the dramatic pictures perfectly) it would have been much more impressing, of course.

  • Fingolfin is one of the most badass heroes in Middle-Earth.. First of he had the balls to challenge the most powerful Vala, the Master of Sauron: Morgoth.

Second, he managed to wound Morgoth seven times.

Third, in his last moments, he wounded Morgoth in his heel which was never ever healed.

    And fourth: It was MORGOTH!!

  • 0:07, 0:22, 0:41 and especially 1:16 are my faves

  • Fingolfin is one of my favorite elves by far :D

  • cool pictures, i think it was suicide that fingolfing haad challenged morgoth to duel becouse theres a huge difference between an elf and a valar

  • who wins?

  • Μοrgoth! They are indeed good!

  • fingolfin dies but manages to scar and cut one of morgoth's feet and he never healed

this when you realize that morgoth is the equivalent to the devil himself is uber badass

  • Nice work - you really dug up a lot of cool pics

  • And it happened again. This video, too, got muted :-(. Thanks, WMG :-(.

The music for this was an excerpt from "The Black Rider" from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.

Maybe you appreciate this vid´s wonderful artwork even without music ;-).

  • APOTÉOSICO!!!! 5 STARS!

  • *gives xxKALEMxx thumbs up and big smile, without removing eyes from the vid*

  • The picture at 0:23 is mine. Thanx for using it. I can't believe it, that I've just saw it here.

  • I like your Melkor drawings at deviantART, they´re really well done! Would you mind if I´d use some more of them for maybe another Morgoth video?

  • Not at all. Feel free to use anything that you like.

  • Best story in the Silmarillion! Very well done

  • I don't know why Morgoth is always shown as larger than life. It is never said that he was a giant just the he was terrible.

  • In the Silmarillion it is said that "He (Morgoth) stood before the king like a tower, iron-crowned..." According to this, Morgoth was quite a lot taller than Fingolfin, but that doesn´t have to mean he was a giant, I agree with you.

  • Yeah thank you but when you say "like a tower" I think he meant the shape of Morgoth because his crown is seen as a tall helmet kind of like the Witch-Kings making him look like a tower.

  • @Fingolfin1394 Morgoth's initial form was "...as a mountain that wades in the sea and has its head above the clouds and is clad in ice and crowned with smoke and fire; and the light of the eyes of Melkor was like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold.". Given that his head was above the clouds it seems reasonable to assume he was a pretty big guy...he DID change when he lost the title of Melkor and took the form of the Dark Lord "tall and terrible" mind you...

  • morgoth rules!

  • There's a big misconception in most of the pictures...

Grond, the Hammer of Hell, is actually a Mace... Quite misleading huh?

  • If Grond looks like a real "hammer" or more like a kind of "mace" depends on your own imagination I think. Anyway, both are lethal weapons which I wouldn´t want to be hit with ;-).

  • They have to make a movie of this I don't give a rats ass how bad the movie is they better have the most epic fights and I believe morgoths mace/hammer would be a 2handed becuase well if fingolfin has to dodge it like it said in the book it better be friggin big

  • I really like it. =)

  • Hello There´s,

Morgoth / Melkor is not my favourite Character in Tolkiens Story, but i like the Video.
