  • He looks like an Elf in 1:50

  • play it backwards and you have the bass line to "number of the beast" an octave lower....

  • But....when are you supposed to pluck the A string? D: I see you doing it but I don't know when to.

  • @ItsBethAhhh You don't. It's moving because his finger is hitting it after he plucks the d string

  • @baconbag Oh, thanks. :)

  • he flipped us off how rude !!! XD XD XD

  • Oh my stars and garders, great instructional! I can't wait to learn my bass, thanks for taking the time to teach us these things!

  • sounds basically the same as this, Blink 182 - Man Overboard /watch?v=hRGBtK7bEmk

  • I HAVE A COCKATIEL BIRD.

  • XD

  • sounds like number of the beast or sumthing by iron maiden

  • HELLO GOOD PEOPLE!

  • I've already used that pattern in a song, but good video man

  • Drink much coffee? I couldn't get through this.

  • man overboard

  • Hey what guitar is that I know it's a bass I mean what brand and style

  • @CockassProductions its a fender precision bass

  • I am going to learn guitar I just want to know is this the easiest guitar to learn please answer

  • Excuse me sir, I believe you are missing some pickguard.

  • thankyou! i have to know about pedal notes on the guitar for my music exam, and on paper i had no idea what it was about, this has helped :)

  • oh Danm it XD

  • Wow, I've actually been trying to do this on my own for the last week or so. I've been trying to use a typical three finger gallop (ring-middle-pointer). And have been having slow progress. This way looks like it might be easier in the long run but I'd hate to have to unlearned what I've learned so far. Would you recommend I start training the plucking order here or stick with the way I'm doing because it can be accomplished eventually my way too.

    That make sense?

  • your three finger method throws me off pretty badly but otherwise it was a very good lesson. Thank you very much.

  • Geee, It sounds like thats not all you can pluck !

  • he flipped me of

    XD

  • why did you cut your pickguard?

  • fingering :L:L

  • FUCK THIS LOSER IN THE ASS PLEACE

AT LIST SOMETHING HE CAN DO WITH IS L

  • @jimenavs please learn how to spell and fingering is one of the best ways to play bass there are many different tones you get from either picking, fingering, and slapping/popping. a true bass player plays with all for all different kinds of music

  • @jimenavs mad much?

  • @jimenavs how about u go back to ur expert village vids bc aleast he know wat hes talking and he actully teaching us something

  • i just think of a big L

    LOSER

  • I LOVE BASS GUITARS!

  • I thought this dude was going to sound like a tough mother fucker not a chill dude

  • 1:50 the face of determination.

  • i got a question i just started playin the bass this summer ive been playing the piano most of my life im 19 and its like i know people start playing at a young age but i just wanted to know whats the best way to learn how to play bass watching videos on youtube or taking lessons i mean yeah watching video lessons on how to play the bass guitar is like totally free but is there like a good way for me to like start off playin

  • @2Nbafan for one don't listen to this guy please. go get a teacher they may cost money but they are very helpful, once you've got to grips with the basics you can try teach your self for a bit, grab some cds with some good bass players and try working stuff out by ear, that helped me allot when i started try going to different teachers that way you get different perspectives. ahhhh and !! don't favour one musician over another however good they may be they all have some thing to teach you

  • hey can smone suggest me good but inexpensive bass guitar? pllzzzz

  • @andranik3949 started bass pack go around 350 dollars it is very good

  • bassmania.webs.com/

  • ur 100times better than expertvillage -.- like seriously

  • how did u get ur pickguard that way cool stuff haha

  • i love this video

  • can someone please tell me this dudes name? spin bartaal? lol im so lost

  • does that guy have his own channel??????? seen a few of his videos and he's a beast

  • Nice vid. You guys explain really great, it doesn't get boring listening to you. As soon as i have my bass, you'll know which vids i'm checking out^^ Cheers.

  • your facem looks like a elf at 1:52

  • Man Overboard

  • @gunlak

Mark Hoppuss must have watched this video before he made the song. lol

  • like the bass and quit giving us the finger i already know how to do that very well

  • damn, this guy is hot. bald, fit and knows how to play the guitar. i bet he has a big package too.

  • Another clear example of pedal note (and very similar to this progression) is The Clairvoyant, by Iron Maiden... very easy to play on bass (although a bit tricky in some parts), and really fun xD

  • @cliptheracer just maiden in general, steve harris loves using the pedal note. the rime of the ancient mariner, number of the beast etc but he truely is great

  • nice. thanks for sharing.

  • did you just flick me off! sun of a gun haha

  • Sounds kinda like Paper Wings by Rise Against.

  • i swear the riff is a blink 182 song

  • It definitely sound a lot like the song Carousel by Blink...a lot of the same notes anyway.

  • yeah the bass part of Carousel has pedal notes.

  • thats because mark hoppus used the same pedal note for carousel. the riff however is very different.

  • Cool. I've been playing guitar for years and now I'm thinking of jumping over to bass. Hey, was that Daves brother?

  • thats daves bro

  • why dont he jst play the open g insted of complicating it wih the use of the 3rd string, anyone agree?

  • playing that many notes on just an open string sounds terrible and much harder to control soundwise than the fretted note

ps bloop reel at end is funny. I play bass and guitar and have been growing exponentially through all your videos. I'm digging the bass lessons. my bass teacher IRL suckssss compared to this. thnx again!!

  • because open strings don't sound as good as fretted notes

  • thats up do debate dsusrts ! I love osnepen stringsd teh make mehd jamz

  • 4.56 cliff burton pulling teeth

  • Dude when he plays at 7:05 to 7:10 i almost started to go all river dance

  • great lesson!

  • when he plays super low its twinkle twinkle little star

  • its the number of the beast backwards :D

  • lol its like man overboard by blink 182

  • Isn't that the same as a passing tone ?????? HMMMM...

  • I know nothing about bass guitars. All I was told was that they are played around the root of the cord the band is playing. True or not? I don't know. I don't even know what that means! LOL! I M such a noob!

  • generally that is true, but usually the add some notes in there, and the really advanced ones play their own progression in the same key

  • That means for eg. if Guitar player plays G chord then base player plays G note ;p and ofc it's not true ;p Chceck Chirs#2 from Anti-Flag ;p

  • great and funny bass player

  • nice ending haha

  • you look just like a bald version of david!

  • ur so right :O

  • at the start he mentions that he's Mark Taub, so its not surprising

  • he says his name is Finbar Taub

  • does david have hair? cuz i've never seen him without a cap :P

  • david is bold

  • wow

  • a great example of pedal notes would be green day's longview. it doesn't have the same right hand plucking technique, but it's got the same left hand concept.

  • lol i started cracking up at 3:20

    i'm so immature

    :D awesome videos guys

  • you guys should start showing examples of the licks you teach us...like show this over a country progression or a rock progression...something like that

  • im offended on 3:24 lol

  • middle finger on G spot:) haha

  • double win lmao

  • @jazu40 No matter what theres gonna be a "finger on G [Insert fun word here]" at every guitar lesson vid...

  • PLEASE make a jam vid of you and your brother!!

  • he flicked us off

  • Very cool! Keep doing more bass lessons! I'm just starting on bass with a Fender Jazz, but I've played guitar for quite a while now.

  • Keep on bringing the bass vids! Screw all the others lol

  • AWESOME!

  • Tom Morello in da house!

  • actually, it looks kinda like tom morello mixed with rick neilsen.

  • no...

  • Why? Is it because he's black??

  • "the black guy" is playing guitar, this dude is playing bass.... darn

  • Nice to see Davids brother on here again. The Taubs rule

  • heck yes

  • Lol pixie ears

  • cool riff!
