Hey man what brush do you use, i think most of the time what i paint doesnt come out right because of the brush im using, yours special or a default brush?
@daarken default round brush meaning? the first brush in the palette? And cheers for such a quick reply! lol! i found your website anyways and DL'd your 'My Brushes' link but if the one your describing now is used more thats what ill use :D
Man I love your style. Can you slow down a video so we can see the painting/color-selection process you go through. I need to see how you go about getting the smoth transitions in your colors with 100% opacity and flow to your brush. Much appreciated.
@daarken ive not long bought an intuos 4 , and im a noob to using a tablet and doing concept art, could you give me advice on any brush settings or pressure settings , or any advice on how to set up my brushes or advice on what books or tutorials to watch to help me better understand , ive watched your tutorials and they help alot, i find ti hard doing the image from a silhouette ,im so confused LOL ,if you have time could you give me some advice please driftjunky8224@hotmail.com thanks
hey daarken, ive been watching your videos, great stuff man, i actually first learned of your work in some spectrum annual. any how, i have a question, do my eyes decieve me or do you use your brushes at 100% opacity at all times? that scares me hah
@daarken i know its probably really simple but i never learned how to set opacity jitter to pen pressure. im looking in the brush menu and i dont see it, im using cs4. could you point me in the right direction? i want to try it out and see if i like it better than manually pressing the number pad to change opacity
@phobophile6 I am not using CS4, but if you go to window-brushes and then click on other dynamics you should see opacity jitter. Set that to pen pressure but keep it at 0%.
@AngellGaby Are you talking about when I cropped the image? For that I just used the crop tool. It is located on the tool bar, or you can hit the letter "c"
@planesrift I only use two brushes in this tutorial for painting the figure. The first brush is just a round brush with opacity set to pen pressure, and the other is just a default Photoshop rectangular chalk brush.
Awesome, I do love how serious this is D:. Being Nibru and all. Totally lookin forward to the next pieces youre doin... Got anything else you're workin on for videos?
Thank you very much for this video Daarken. I often got some doubts on my painting technic as a beginner, and your videos always helps me a lot! Thanks again mate, for sharing your talent and your technic. And, good luck for your future work!
How long have you been an artist?

I sincerely hate thinking of poses for characters. That's what usually leads to my unholy art blocks. It's sucks when I can't even get past step one.

Fun. I realize how very, very often you flip your images!
I will definitly start doing that!
Flipping it horizontally after having painted it "one way" for a few hours really drives me crazy, there are so much to fix then.
More tutorials! Pretty please with cherry on top!

Every time i re size a part of my drawing it becomes blurry.

Try holding down Shift while dragging it. That will keep the aspect ratio intact.
