  • da zivee majka makedonija.................

  • Is there anywhere I can download the recording? Been trying to transcribe this for guitar for a while!

  • @kyriakosd please spare me!!! where are Greek lyrics of the song??? And why in Greece you don't say JUST Kori Eleni but you also have the other name ''Eleno mome''?? even if it comes from Lerin - STILL there are and have lived Macedonians so this song is not more greek just because now Florina is under greece. Notice that not all in greece is greek.

  • :-)))))), daaaaaa from Bg, Super!

  • hey - this is bulgarian language...

  • Like :)

  • I didn't know that you'can't visit your places..people have nothing to do with Goverments,i don't know where you believe but my religion says that behind human goverments exist daimons.I've been in your country twice travelling towards Serbia and Hungary, except borders were we have delays people in cafe were polite.i work in a cultural society and my headmaster told me that dances like Eleno mome etc came fron slavs known to us from records in Macedonian villages after 1930..how people knew?

  • @ARSAPNAL children couldn't visit them, for decades...most of them lost brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, all family.. of course you don't know..

your headmaster told you what? look, dances and songs from this place do exist, songs in old dialect, what exactly are you trying to tell me? from which records??

  • Kwnstantinos Xristou or captain Kwtas was lived in Lerin. He spoke slavic but he thought himself Greek. Turks hang him in Bitola 1905,his last words were "zivia Gricia Slovoda i Smir",my spelling is not good but it means "Viva Greece, freedom or death"this is not propaganda it;s history..July 28 1913 by the condition of Bukurest Macedonia bacame Greek..many of you forced to leave but we have also many refugees.. You want Macedonia??? We want Minor Asia, Konstantinoupoli and banks of black sea..

  • @ARSAPNAL what do you know about captain at all? did you know that he was with VMRO and then he sold himself for money and why he did it? Turks hang him and do you know WHO BETRAY him and why?do you know his real name? yes he was golem grk, for money:))) he said slovoda ili smrt and you heard him, didnt you? or maybe turks told you that? haha if this is all what you know we can say goodbye to each other because you have lack of knowledge. you have to learn a lot..and if you want one day you'll..

  • and i don't want anything ''back''. we will be all sooner or later in EU. our refugees already manage their lives for decades, what i do want its JUSTICE...you didnt let people who were born in greece to come for a visit to their own places..and YOUR GOVERNMENT say that these people are GREEKS...people to which they prohibited to enter their homeland.

and what made you to act the same as cruel turks?? turks did a crimes against humanity, did you have to do it too??

  • @ARSAPNAL enough you fuckin idiot stop stealing fuckin negroids

  • If only a few greeks lived then in border regions and didn't have any cultural exchanges with slavs how they know the dances today?? I suppose they didn't made your people to teach them the songs and steps before they force them to leave. Many greeks then talk both greek and slavic or only slavic. But i wasn't there when all these happened and nor you. So please tell me where you read about the steal of your tradition and i will read it also cause i want to have a more concluded opinion

  • @ARSAPNAL lol and who told you those ''greeks'' today in Lerin are really greeks? greeks didnt know slavic dont be ridiculous now! why would ordinary people need slavic language AND greek language to communicate with each others if ALL KNEW GREEK? FOR FUN MAYBE? where did ''greek people'' learn slavic?? NO we werent there, but instead of us my dear, our grandparents were and their stories are more true than any of your weak propaganda

  • @ARSAPNAL btw ''how they (i suppose you mean greeks from minor asia, armenians, russians and many other population which you brought to macedonia...) know the dances today''

you know there is something called cultural society (politistikos sillogos)

  • I haven't heard ever in Greece to call this song "mother Greece" it's ridiculous. We know that Eleno mome means Elena girl and that it is in slavic language. Dances like this one are slaviks but in regions like Lerin lived also greeks and bulgarians then. That's why Eleno mome today is danced also from Bulgarians and Greeeks. They are Macedonians as much as you. Here in Greece when we want to teach Eleno mome we explain that is a macedonian dance from the region of Lerin.

  • @ARSAPNAL well if you didnt heard I did... What do you want to say anyway? How many greeks lived in Lerin back then? like 10 people? Do you want to say that greeks were singing in our language and danced dances together with our grandparents? they were sharing culture? :D if this would be so we would be one nation dear! they didnt know languages of each others so how could they even understand each other? with hands?how many greeks lived in Lerin before population exchange?not so many eh...

  • Thanks for posting this GREAT video! And the answer is BULGARIAN!!!

  • Thanks for posting this GREAT video!!! The answer is BULGARIAN!!!

  • this is bulgarian....

    uhhm, not greek, lool. :P

  • macedonian, to be precise. but hey, we slavs (russians, serbs, macedonians, bulgarians, the TRUE slavs) are all the same, rly. similar languages, customs, genetics. its those croatians we need to rally against, those greeks, and esp, Albanians. a unity of slavic peoples could overrun them all!

  • Аз гледах гръцки клип с хорото ......Интересното там беше, че го играят като в северна България ,на хорото там и аз можех да се хвана........:) Да им се каже на гърците е същото както да се каже и на другите балканци-няма смисъл!

  • i oti dojde tuka ako няма смисъл? jas i zatoa go napravi voa video. za da vidam kolku ke se komentira od vashta strana tuka i kolku na grchki videa. guess the result

  • The song and language are Bulgarian. The rhythm is 7/8 - but not the 3-2-2 typical of the Bulgarian songs from the macedonian region, but rather 2-2-3 - which is typical of the northern Bulgaria regions. Ruchenitsa is also 2-2-3. The language that is spoken in today's FYROM is a srbianised version of Bulgarian - basically Bulgarian with many srbian words which have replaced the old Bulgarian ones. The older folk songs are in pure Bulgarian, the modern pop songs are in srbianised dialect.

  • yes it also exist in northern Bulgaria, and also exist in Macedonia and Greece-without lyrics! btw could you resist to not use the word ''fyrom'' at least on my videos because i don't say to you ''tatars'' like you stated on vid for Baj Apostol. the fact is that serbians wanted to serbinize Vardar and that's why there are some influence in grammar macedonian but if you go in Bitola, Gevgelija or Strumica nobody will speak like that but in their dialects which are similar to old church slavonic

  • I used to have sympathy towards the macedonians in FYROM since my family is also from macedonia (aegean), but lately I am simply amazed at the level of stupidity and brainwashing that rules there. Now in the age of the internet, a whole population to be clueless about their history and heritage is really spooky. Everybody is free to consider himself ethnically whatever he wants, but to be so uneducated and ignorant about history? I really have no respect, sorry!

  • if you have no respect do not write on my videos! my ancestors were tortured from both side, from greek and from serbian! you dont know how it is so dont talk me about stupidity and ask greeks why they have SLAVOphone greeks in their state and why they consider those slavs as pure macedonians!? i am not ignorant but some people here must get what they deserved! sorry if you suffer because of that it's not my fault!

  • If your people were tortured by the Serbs, who also forcibly changed your alphabet, your last names (-ski), and your flags and symbols - why now that you are free - don't you restore the old ones? Get back the Bulgarian alphabet (get rid of all srbisms in your language), get back your Bulgarian last names, get back the Bulgarian gold lion on your coat-of-arms and the red+black flag. You have not only used these for hundreds of years, but actually actively participated in their creation.

  • Don't get me wrong - I dislike the Greeks too - I think no one likes them anyway. But look at it this way: for 500 years under the Turks, the macedonian Bulgarians kept their language, churches, schools, names, alphabet, flags, traditions, etc. etc. But for 50 years under the Greeks - most of them suddenly became slav-speaking Greek-macedonians and for 50 years under the Serbs - they suddenly became slav-speaking REAL (Alex the Great-type) macedonians. Quite similar - don't you think?

  • Thats why you gonna burn in hell mother fucker ! Fuckin traitor.., traitors the devil virus ! Go and have fuck with the negro short hairy greekies.. prodadena dusa sve ti ebam po spisok.. so noz na majka ti u sred picka sto te rodila kurvo !

  • yes it is popular dance in Bulgaria, R. Macedonia and northern Greece, also in Serbia...wherever live Macedonians

the lyrics also are only in one language...this are folk songs and songs can be without lyrics only if someone remove them because of some particular reason

    cheers friend ;)

  • No this does not sound Greek or "Macedonian", it is for sure BULGARIAN from Macedonia...there is no Macedonian language it is Bulgarian!

  • if it's bulgarian why you dance it and claim it? you dont have your own folklore to dance on?

peace ;D you are not greek either

  • You eat what your NAZI buddies have cooked up. If you kept everything the way it was, you wouldn't have had these problems today. But since you like stealing, now you have to live with one arm.

  • another fake account...

  • bravo za videovo!
