I played Red Baron II, it was a masterpiece, great concept and gameplay (and the manual was briliiant, with so many pages of aviation's history!), such a mess they haven't done more games like these...

The German plane in the later part of the video is a Fokker D.VIII. The patch I am running is a mix but mainly the Western Front Patch 2 (vers. 10). You can obtain it by Googling the Wings of Honor website which has a repository of RB patches.

I would spend hours on this game when I was like 8... named my self Hitler and took to the sky! Being only 8, I hated long boring flying missions so I would kill my own guys for fun then get to where I needed to go, and get my ass killed cuz i had no backup! I miss this game so much! Too bad my CD is ass fucked up :(

No, Red Baron 3D is an upgrade to Red Baron 2. People who purchased RB2 could patch it to RB3D.

no. red baron 2 sucks because the controls are too realistic. the point of a game is to have fun playing it and rack up kills, not spend the whole time trying to keep your plane in the air.

the guns have a timming mechanisme that tells the guns when to shoot

It was a real problem. I think the guns were timed from cams driven off the engine.

The video shown does have quite a few RB mods installed. The bloom is just something fun to try. I'd prefer if you two gents could agree to disagree and we'll leave it at that. I don't like erasing comments unless I'm forced to.

Use the Saitek mapping software to map the default Red Baron keyboard commands to whichever buttons you want as keystrokes.

It goes in your Red Baron folder with the plug in. If you feel it was difficult to understand, no one is stopping you from uploading your own version. Perhaps then you will get the thrill of people complaining about something you did too...

I'm having a problem where the game CTD's when I hit the Campaign button. I read that this happens because I need to copy the video folder from my RB cd to the game's directory. The problem is, I downloaded this game from the net. I didn't actually buy it. Can anyone maybe e-mail me the files in the video folder so I can install them manually? I can message anyone my e-mail. Please...I'm desperate. I love this game and really want to get back into my campaign. Thanks!

This is easily the best game ever created!! But now, since I got a new computer, I can't play it. I have tried and tried. Nothing works. I bought that Full Canvas Jacket Superpatch--still nothing. Can you help me?? Can anyone help me?? I have Intel core 2 duo 6800, Win XP, 2 500meg Nvidia GeForce 7800 working together in SLI mode. 4 gigs of ram barely using 2 gigs since I haven't upgraded to Vista yet. i think you might be a bit excited. falcon 4 is the best...period. furthermore ive never been able to get rb3d looking close to what this video shows. messing with glide and 3dfx is a real hit and miss.
