  • VTEC kicked in, yo!

  • 8th Gen Civics were very safe cars. They had better crash-worthiness than Hummer H3s, for example, despite being 60% of the weight. Reading the comments on this video, it's amazing how most of the people bashing "Jap" cars aren't able to put together sentences. American cars have come a long way, but imports are still ahead on resale value because they fare better over time. Japanese and German manufacturers were pioneering safety systems in the 70s and 80s while American cars only followed laws

  • Best Car of the world

  • why do people hate civics? they are awesome cars.

  • shit car

  • so safe

  • Have you ever driven a Civic sedan Si?

I love mine, better than most cars under $18,000.

  • super lousy car!!

  • This car is design failure. A sedan with mediocre space for luggage?

  • thats the result for a honda civic 2006 at 5 miles an hour!!!????

    WHAT!!!??? FTW!!

  • @jawbreaker480

Actually it is in slow motion. Normally they hit it at 38mph.

  • @Kanebb21 ohh

    wow

    <33

  • @jawbreaker480 LOL moron..

  • @paintballjunkie93 HEY tough guy!!....god bless you

  • @jawbreaker480 lol my bad but it was funny i had to comment..

  • I hate this generation of Civics. I hate civics becuase Ricers ruined them for me.

  • @MSNIMSM civic was an asian car from the beginning, what are you talking about?

  • @BatmanbinSuperman12 Im talking about those faggots that put the coffee can on the muffler and spoiler made from plastic duct tape and 2x4's on thier shitty cars...

  • estes teste sao realizados à quantos km/h ?

se alguem souber responde por favor obrigado.

    att...

  • @kauleo1

    Depende. Alguns são feitos a 50 km/h , outros 60 Km/h.

  • wow, safe car.

i hate civics but damn, very safe.

  • @KarstonLikesMustangs why do you hate civics?

  • malllar ncap değil bu düz duvara çarpıyo sol önden darbe yemiyo

  • WOW you guys do right alot fucking hell

  • Honda was actually the first "foreign" car company to start building cars in the U.S.- starting in 1983. And in 1988, they were the first to build a model exclusively in the U.S. then export it to other markets, including back to Japan. It was the '88 Accord Coupe, made only in America.

  • Do you guys realize that most of the Honda's for the North American market are built in north america.... Only the fit, insight, s2000, and civic hybrid come from japan and for acura only the tsx comes from japan

    plus the nsx

  • When are trying to say this started? I've got a Civic EX (non-hybrid) with a Japanese VIN.

  • and to ad to that i work for a gm dealer i can tell you most all of the problems we have with the cars are electrical issues that gm out sources to japan, china, and other countries to keep up on price.partly cuz they company isnt ran good and they actually pay there employees too much.and as far as america being a threat thoes countries should relize we share the world theres no reason to fight.

  • That's true, and it is right, Japan is kind of cheating off America. One of the reasons why American Goverments are loaning GM and Chrysler. So they can rehire some employees and refiance plants in America.

It really stinks when people get laid off though, I have an Aunt that was released from Chrysler...

I don't know which time zone your'e at, but it's 10:30 here. I gotta go to bed!

  • its not jap!! not a country that bombed us..now that all u retards support hondas and kia's and all the little puddle jumpers because ur cheep, the american companys have to out source to keep up on price because they actually pay there employees.any real american shouldnt support imports.

  • Honda Odyssey (American Version)

    Honda Pilot

    Honda CR-V (American Version)

    Honda Accord (American Version)

    Honda Element (American Version)

All of them, are not imports...

Last I checked, Real Americans are independent, welcoming people from all over the world, with their ideas and designs. Americans copied famous designs of the sewing machine, made in Germany...

Have you read the Declaration Of Independence recently?

That's what America is all about, freedom of choice.

  • a different country owns that company!

mabey ur not a real american because u dont rember how we were in war wit the japs and korea.but let alone that u are giveing a different country our money, a country that killed many americans..we are not independant because of people like u.who cares if a design is copyed as long as u buy if from a american company u just dont get it and u should get the heck out of this country.50 years ago people would have beat u senseless for talkin that way

  • This country, Japan, is saving Americans right now. If it weren't for Japan studies and advanced technology, about 20% of infants that were born wouldn't survive within the first 3 minutes. Japan spent over 6 billion towards studying breast cancer, and only that cancer alone. Japan also developed over 1,400 different types of medications for illness and diseases. The past is the past. War's long gone now, we're all just folks. Japan has far more positives toward America than negatives.

  • they get that money from people like u that buy there products..in 100 years there gonna have so much money and be so far advanced america could be tooken over..you should go to a business class so u can figure ouf how the world works

  • Nooo...

You do realize America is already taking care of that? Remember Bush? He went to Japan and N. Korea in like 2008. America is concerned about that, but only because Japan and N. Korea is developing nuclear weapons.

You do realize that America has one of the most powerful offense forces in the world? So if US goverment catches as much as a whiff of your theory stated, Japan and N. Korea is in for a hurting! HAHA LOL. We outnumber them in allied forces (Canada and some of Europe).

  • Listen, I admire your patriotictism and effort to keep America's reputation solid, and I respect that. I agree that America is way, emphasizing WAY, more superior than Japan, because, like hello, we have money, and lots of it. Even with this whole 2nd depression and economic struggles, we are, without doubt, the most powerful country in the world. You may not know this, but Japan and other countries as well, are afraid of us... They think we have too much power! You should read NY Times, dude.

  • well i flip out when people give money to thoes countrys because my family has been in ww2, korean war,Vietnam.i know i takje it to an extream, srry.but i hate when our money goes to dif countrys.i know part is because we have ceo's and government people making way too much money but ,it makes me sick when i see all these people out of work and the jobs goin to china and japan.

  • However, Japan's auto companies right now, are making US employees rich! It's almost an equivalent profit for both ratios: Japan's wealth and American workers' wealth. Japan is slightly higher, and that doesn't suprise me. Ford is doing a very good job with these times, because they have a lot of money, and they make very reliable cars now. GM, oh boy, not so much. Employees fired and bankruptcy. Chrysler, suprisingly, is inbetween those two, kind of nuetral, losing as much money as they gain.

  • there is no fuckin way you can be 24. Take the 4 out and we got our selfs a 2 year old on our hands

  • Actually, I've found that people who say they're an age like that bullshit. To estimate their age (And is usually right) is I add the to numbers together :P Typically, a person aged 6-9 say that they are like 20 yrs old, so you add 2 + 0=? 2 yrs old. They srsly act like a 2 yr old!

  • hehe

  • @peanutbutterisfu you just have no idea. You know U.S also fought Vietnam, how rightful or successful was that war?.

Here is a suggestion turn off CNN and every other privately/Gov sponsored media..oh wait there is very little of them, but go and look beyond the picture for yourself so you dont sound like such a tool.

  • @ballinballer2 ur so dumb did u even read what i said? i dont watch cnn nor have i ever nor will i ever, theres not one thing that i said thats not true in any way.y dont u do ur fuckin home work and support local workers and stop with this jap crap.u people are the reason this economy fuckin blows dick.buy shit from America keep the fuckin money in america.and dont buy one of the fuckin queer ass pile of shit cars

  • @peanutbutterisfu ahaha whats wrong bud is something bothering you? like too irrational. American Economy was expected to collapse and so was the worlds recession, it usually happens every 10-15 years so that new world order/economy can add to world inflation. On side note, America invented capitalism? right lol so my freind be happy cause we are all consumers and only buy whats effecient, safe, cheap, reliable. check it out JAP cars have beaten American crap in every continent

  • @ballinballer2 the only thing that bothers me is when people dont think before they talk.another thing is when dumb people like ur self buy imported SHIT all the time and wonder y things are the way they are, well ur supporting another country with American money.and as far as jap cars go,there harder to work on,the parts are more money.honda makes a good lawn mower thats about it.

  • @peanutbutterisfu The fuel pump for my Saturn cost waaaaay more than it would have for a Honda... how do you explain that?

  • @carpetmartsucks if it was more its because your saturn fuel pump comes with a level sensor and sending unit. alot of hondas you can just do the pump.plus alot of hondas you dont need to drop the tank cuz theres a pannel under the seat or in the trunk the Saturn you have to drop the tank..the saturns were great cars untill general motors stepped in and ruined the company.the s series wasnt a great looking car but neither is a civic.but them s series would last for ever and ever

  • @peanutbutterisfu I don't think looks matter. My car runs and runs and runs!

  • @ballinballer2 and don't try to tell me some bs story's about jap crap ive been a mechanic my whole life and i know first hand, i didnt watch a youtube vid or read a magazine about whats good or bad,i work on cars 5 days a week so i see these crappy cars every day.fuck honda has been makin cars for years and they still cant figure out a way to make them not burn a shit load of oil.

  • @peanutbutterisfu Lets say this oil problem cost 2400$ per year to put a litre in every day. now this example is unrealistic and never happens but to make you feel better we say hypothetically. A new engine on a GM or a transmision swap 4000+ and all the crap and time loss that comes with it. You should love Jap cars and look around even the little town you are from or those local workers that got FIRED! will buy a Jap car. You should also be a Jap mechanic, because you prolly make a better life

  • @ballinballer2 when u burn oil u also burn out catalytic converter, out o2 sensors, foul plugs...jap transmissions are the dumbest design ever made,to top it off they cant make a torqueconverter.not many motors or trannys go bad on gm,most engine and tranny problems are a result of the dumb owner never changing the engine and transmission oils.not many mechanics got laid off, they moved to different dealerships. dealer ships closed and the ones left got bigger so there was not real big problem.

  • If you don't support that, maybe you aren't really a 'true' American.

  • finally some one thats not a jap farie

  • No, you don't understand.

For instance, the Honda Pilot, nowhere to be found in Japan because it violates Japanese road and enviromental laws. However, in the USA, it doesn't.

Yes, it's created by generation of Japenses creating cars, but the Pilot is an all American made vehicle.

And also, it benefits America because Honda and Toyota has better employment rates in USA than GM and Chrysler Inc, and also Ford.

    BTW: I am a proud owner of a Ford F-150, 80% USA product, 10% Canadian, 10% Foreign

  • nice i love seeing hondas get destroyed

    buy american faggots

  • Realize, most Hondas in America, are American made, by North American Honda Motor Company...

    Chevy, not so much...

Their Camaro is only made in Canada for instance, and some of their plants are in Mexico...

Also, Toyota and Honda employs more American workers in the US than any other 'American' auto company...

  • get it right retard honda and toyota are jap companys and they have a few plants cuz retards like you buy them, keep ALL the money in america

  • BTW: Earlier generation F150s were built in Brazil...

Low production costs and many willing employees... Nothing wrong with that, eh?

  • why use the whole wall when u can use half becuse all crashes is not directly head on

  • I`m glad I drive one of these. They`re all around good cars.

  • omg so safe! the whel didnt even move!

  • Wow, that car did good. The cockpit stayed totally intact.

  • Oh ya! extremely good thanks to its ACE body structure.

  • The new F-150 has a 5 star crash rating for the last five years or so? You are right they used to be awful! The new F-150s are now one of the best.

  • Civics are a lot better now in the crash tests... my friend has an SI an handles good on rain dry snow.

  • SI does a little worse than the Spec-V.

  • made in TURKEY

  • mi pussy is dripping O

  • i'm feeling naughty at the moment Z

  • Honda improved there Civic Crash test

  • lol i miss Regan badly to to but cars are way safer today dude. The fact it gives in a crash just means your not taking the impact the car is. The new civics are fucking huge anyway, weights about 300lbs less than a 60s camaro.

  • The old American cars were death traps. Japanese cars are much safer. And I have no idea how you can tie politics into this.

  • All old cars were death traps! The safest cars today are the Honda and Ford! Yes Ford! Don't believe me, check out NHTSA or google it.

  • Renault and Volvo is surely safer . The tests in USA is far to weak . This new Honda has more problems than 100 different car models added together. This model of Civic is one of Honda biggest mistakes ever . And it`s so cramped i can`t even fit in the hatchback model which is for tiny tiny people

  • Where do you get your info? The 2006-2009 Civic is the safest in its class and the most reliable, best on fuel, fastest slalom speed! I won't argue with you about it not being a big car, Volvo is also safe but no better than Honda/Acura and I guarantee Honda is more reliable than Volvo! Check out Consumer Reports, argue with them.lol

  • yup.I concur.

  • Comment removed

  • Ford owns Volvo.

  • I know that

  • I understand you've said, Honda sells hatchback Civic in Europe, while selling sedans in other places. To be frank, sedan version is quite good. And the hatch costs much more but same specif.

  • Actually, the European hatchback has a non-independent rear suspension, which makes the biggest difference ...

  • The 8th generation hondas are absolutely remarkable cars. I own one and sometimes I forget this is suppose to be a compact car....I've got air bags all over and the automatic seat constraint system makes this a safer car than most bigger and higher priced sedans.

  • youd be surprised. i dont need a hummer to augment my dick...you still have to climb out of that thing sooner or later to expose what you actually look like. buhahahaha

  • @7789902 why people with hummers always discuss dicks sizes thats weird and its stupid. Hummer is just a big car thats stupid and eats alot of fuel.

  • @7789902 Same reason I tell my gf that I don't need to drive a Hummer, Corvette or any Lifted ass truck that you need a ladder to get off on. I can drive a Saturn and don't need to worry about what those idiots say because they have ummm "issues" haha.

  • The Civic has made leaps and bounds compared to the mid 90's models. Those were bad death traps. Early Accords were dangerous as well. Thank God technology has allowed car companies to improve crash saftey. If you really want to see a horrible test crash type in (Holden Commodore Crash Test). It is the yellow car. That is a good example of how far automobiles have come in crash saftey in the past 20 years.

  • that holden was going much faster than normal crash test speed, actually. that's why it does so badly.

  • that dosent look like its going very fast

  • It is in slow motion. The speed is 35mph.

  • a very safe car, great job... Congratulations HONDA !

  • We just picked up a 2006 civic hybrid. Ir's not bad - big inside, like an Accord. Engine shuts off at stops - they should just put that feature on all cars - can't even notice it. Nice car - I remmember Civics as snaller but this one is big. gas mileage is great 45 or better MPG around town and 50 on the highway.

  • Wow, you are an idiot. You say you hate Nissan and then you state that you love the 2009 Altima hybrid. And I have a 2008 Civic EX-L, and as a ordinary commuter car, it meets all of my needs.

  • My aunt has the same kind of car. They are popular.

  • Popular for a reason

  • Whoops, sorry, mate. Mistook you by accident.

  • wow... the windshield didn't even budge...

  • As an example of how you can still be in an accident despite doing everything in your power not to get in one: the other driver could be the one that starts it and it would be a matter of you merely being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

    That happens all the time.

  • Trying not to get into crashes in the first place is always preferable. However, accidents do happen, no matter what you do to prevent them.

That's merely an inevitability as cited by one of Murphy's Laws. (If it can happen, it WILL happen.)

And, still, I'd rather be in a vehicle that performs well in a test than one that does not because, even though the tests might not reflect reality, a properly functioning system will do more to help you survive than a system that didn't work well.

  • The one and only Yugo > Honda LOL

  • This proves that the occupant protection systems work.

  • vw!!! the best!!!

  • I meant all cars other than the Honda

  • Honda >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Honda Odyssey

  • very impressive! One of the most successfull crash test i've seen so far.

  • This car does very well in a crash test. Look at a Chevrolet Cavalier for comparison...

  • wow the back wheel lift up....cool

  • screw you asshole

  • do you think a car will stay solid in impact?

  • i'm sorry, went through a spell where I thought Honda's were very unsafe. The only unsafe Honda is the Odyssey.

  • lets put it this way. heavier car crashes into a lighter car. the lighter car is more effected due to momentum. unfortunately these test don't take that into account.

  • Yeah but this specific model, is designed to be compatible with many different sizes of vehicles (advanced compatibility engineering). A 2 and a half ton van was smashed into this car at 50 mph and the cabin had virtually not intrusion.

The front end crumbled but the occupant compartment was untouched.

    Its called engineering buddy

  • dont act like im a fucking idiot. anyways i didnt know this could take that kind of hit. then again a hevier car with the same engineering will still fair better. also at least you can drive a heavier car home that same night. light cars get chasis dammage from even minor accidents. a hevier with the same safety rating will still be drivable with only body dammage.

  • Well most new cars wil suffer chasis damage because the car has crush zones to cushion the impact. And no, if two vechiles say an suv and a car collided at 50 miles an hour both vechiles would not be drivable.

even lower impacts like would mess the suv up good unless it was an older truck made out of pure steel.

  • at 50mph your right but at lower speeds heavier will drive home from the accident. i was once rearended by a truck but the reason the truck hit is because the driver was not holding the brakes and was rearended by a civic. this was back in 2002 and the f150 was brand new at the time. the civic there was nothing left of the front of the car. im not even sure if it was a civic. the truck's bumper was a lil bent and that's it.

  • there was a time i hit a truck to. it was found there was an oil slick in the road as i went around the turn. i was in a ford 1996 mustang, which despite being a cramped spots, is pretty heavy (3300lbs) i was going 35mph and hit a car in the opposite lane. the car was stoped at a stop sign. his tires somehow came off his wheels and his body was messed up too. my body was messed up and my radiator was cracked. the cracked radiotor was my issue.

  • And the the Asian version Jazz, it doesn't even have ABS.

  • I've never seen those rims on a civic in Canada. They may be only for the States, but anyways they look nice. Yeah they should increase the speed to maybe 80 km/h (around 50 mph)

  • Wow! Honda's are tough! The Civic does excellent in crash test! You can see how well-built the body is -- body panels are intact. Very impressive!

  • 40 mph is pretty fast. You must consider that you usually hit the brakes before a crash (for ex. from 60mph to 40mph) and that the object you hit is not a solid wall but another car or guard rail which is somewhat a cushion.

  • Try this with any 1965 car, you would be dead before the car was stoped, even with the lap (no shoulder)belt.

  • I just hope that they increase the speed of the crash tests.

  • Yeah 40 mph is not that fast.

  • Yea... But perhaps in the future they will increase the crash test speed, crossing my fingers!

  • Frontal crash tests are conducted at 40 miles per hour, that's 64 kilometers per hour.

  • yes at or around 40mph.

and (to the rest of you) yes they should be tested at higher speeds

  • ermmm for wat i knw.. normal test.. is 60mph ... i think , below than tat... no point for testing oso.. coz u wont drive so slow.. lol

  • youtube should be able to IP ban spammers, then only the hard core ones would be left.

  • wtf! this is like the 25 comment i get like this on this video. die you spammers!

  • cool

  • I agree with plutonius, They should do different test. They should crash in to other cars and aleast speeds of 50 and more.

  • that was a high-speed test, at least 60 mph (100 km/h) is normal

  • how do you know that?

  • it is a slow-motion video, and i have read that 60 mph is standard, and it looks at least that fast based on messed- up hondas i have seen. surprisingly, they are fairly safe cars.

  • all of the videos are in slo motion, and i am sure 40 is standard

  • hmmm i cant think that's 40 cause i have seen crashes at maybe 50 mph with less damage and that was a shitty toyota or honda but i wouldnt say its impossible

  • yeah..

  • wow I like how the Scion tC did though

  • nice... i have an 07 EX.... crash has very good results...

  • honda high security

  • wow the honda did ok

  • Well I mean if a car can totally withstand a head-on crash like that, it should do much better on deformable objects.

  • This is actually a High-Speed version. Not slow motion. As the more frames per second exposed means the image is faster.

  • acura rl and rdx have ACE too

  • wow, honda's ace structure really works, move side way not towards the driver. i think they are gonna put it on all their models, the crv civic and ody has it now

  • what is honda's ace?

  • honda ace structure is a type of frame, but this frame takes more forces to protect you from getting more hurt. it is not like conventional frames where it is one big steel but it is several pieces put together in the front. not only it takes more forces, it move towards the side and not towards the driver as shown in the video.

  • yea instead of the entire front steel bar twisting causeing the person's head 2 b thrown sideways, it seperates sumwhat so u stay alined lol im glad we just bought a 07 lol

  • hehe we got a brand new 07 too =)

  • Actually, it's an '06. very good, my rating: 8.5/10

  • u meant G-CON?
