  • When i listen to this music i feel real EMOTION in my stomack , its like if for some reason , i was there XD hahahaha well who knows , maybe in my other life XD WONDERFUL

  • I listen to this CD every Xmas. RIP JB.

  • snagged this from my Mom's album collection and wore it out on vinyl then bought it on CD and managed to wear it out again lol, one of my favorite all time albums!

  • Guess I never before listened on headphones. Although I've alwaus favored VOl. II for it's progressiveness and songlist, this one has the "heart" and the unity of the material. Amazing, that this self-produced album from 1962 has a better mix than the other Apollo volumes!

  • Truly the Godfather of Soul! The Best!

  • I luv this medley!

  • That album really launched the legacy of James Brown whose music is still being heard by millions the world over and he's the last true legends of song & dance none of us will ever see the likes of again.

  • I used to know this entire album by heart when it came out

  • He is a genius, I love his work! Xx

  • @Sophieheartspotter I luv the musicianship, what a great band, tight and great chops, you dont hear songs today with great musicianship, its total commercialism since the late 90`s .I mean commercialism finally won over artists AND the whole industry in the late nineties.Kids used to dream of being a great musician and then becoming stars. Now kids dream of being stars and then maybe learn the guitar to write songs on,lol..

  • @PAULOcbi I totally agree with you it's just not the same now is it Xx

  • @Sophieheartspotter its not 'lets write a great rock/pop/rnb record' anymore, its 'lets write songs that will reach a big demographic so we can sell more cd`s'. Even producers and record company execs wont take a chance on a great band anymore if their songs aint commercial so evryone from the kids to their granny will buy it.And forget about guitar solos or instrumental breaks that scares off the older cd buyers,U2 are the biggest sellouts.

  • James Brown "Live At The Apollo" is a definite recording of this most wonderful, exceptional musician, James Brown.

To understand and know James Brown one is "required" to start here!
