This looks good, I'm not a big fan of Alien/Zombie crossovers, but I think Ed Would appreciate this. But don't forget the real message is in the final narration.... conspiracy.

I saw it last night at the theater, i was so excited because i love that movie, but this prequel was shit! there was no intelligence like the original had, way too many characters, and it was all CGI; really bad CGI, my gf kept laughing at the monsters(and she scares super easy)

Okay, here's the thing. The original has neat ideas but is riddled with production errors and logical flaws. A remake that could do the original concepts justice with good production values and actual narrative sense can be amazing. If you want the original, watch the original, but don't bash on these guys for trying to improve on it.
I think it's kind of neat. One of the things about Ed Wood's film is that it really isn't far removed from stuff that happened on the X-files or other horror films. It's just funny because it had a lot of amusing mistakes and funny dialogue. But on a certain level, it's as fun as Dracula or other movies where you just allow yourself to "go with it." You may not be on the edge of your seat, but something about it interests you besides the gags because, well, it involves so much weirdness.
whoever is re-making this film is so pathetic. Trying to cash on the worst film ever made (well, before Wiseau's 'The Room') only because of the notoriety that it has... I am sure your film is going to be a real stinker. The one no one, ever, will ever talk about. Who know, maybe you'll be able to buy a new Hunday with some of the money from it. Now, that's an achievement.

What is the deal with all of these unnecessary re-makes to cool movies? This one in particular should'nt even be touched. Teh original is by far the "Citizen Kane" of B-movies. From the start it looks decent, but then it takes off into one of the many badly made zombie movies that have proliferated the filmscape. People there is nothing wrong with being original. Try it sometime, you might surprise yourself.

I was just talking to some friends a couple of weeks ago how the original had so much promise and that if it were remade today it could be a kick ass film. (The original is one of my all time faves.) Low and behold here we are!!!!! Looking forward to seeing this, good luck guys!!!!!

And the beauty of the original was the fact that it had Tor Johnson, Vampira, and the Bela Lugosi coverup. It was for this 'B' movie fan (read - ''Purist"), cinemagic. Just the histories of the players in the picture makes it worth watching over and over again. Remember, Tor Johnson's character became the number one selling Halloween mask. What will your picture produce? Another crappy, forgettable zombie picture? I imagine so. Best of luck.

I agree with the wrongness of this remake. The gravedigger didn't even knock over the phony tombstone. Ed Wood rolls in his grave...badly...but nonetheless rolling. This trailer looks damn awesome. I love the idea of turning the campy horror movie notorious for being considered the worst film ever into a real horror movie. My only problem… WTF is up with that giant ball of red shit?
I'm a fan of b-movies and I have to admit to never having seen the original plan 9 from outer space but just from this trailer the movie is looking like an average zombocalypse movie.

Yes, i realise they're low budget and going for a classic "B" feeling but there is a difference between B and plain. Zombie Hordes have been done to death lately, they're just not that scary.

Couple of questions. First, is this fucking thing EVER going to be released? I've been hearing about it for years but I've never seen a release date other than 2009, which you may notice has come and gone. Second, it's not just the production values that were flawed, it's the story itself; how the hell are they planning to make a "serious" version without fundamentally rewriting the story?
@dantheman931 From what I read, they DID rewrite the story. Maybe not 100% but anyone these days would do it so it makes sense for a modern audience Im sure. It just said on their facebook page that it is going to be shooting in just a few months from now. I guess in 2009 something happened but that is normal for indie films. you seem to be confusing remake and replacing everything with generic horror/zombie.disater film cliches. This could have easily been completley unrelated to plan 9 from the trailer and I wouldnt have noticed - having said that it does look lovley but thats exactly what I dont like about these films. Sure it will play it safe, stick to the conventions that have been done so many times and be passable, but why would anyone want to watch that. Thats why the original suceeds, its interesting.

I was just talking to some friends a couple of weeks ago how the original had so much promise and that if it were remade today it could be a kick ass film. (The original is one of my all time faves.) Low and behold here we are!!!!! Looking forward to seeing this, good luck guys!!!!!

And the beauty of the original was the fact that it had Tor Johnson, Vampira, and the Bela Lugosi coverup. It was for this 'B' movie fan (read - ''Purist"), cinemagic. Just the histories of the players in the picture makes it worth watching over and over again. Remember, Tor Johnson's character became the number one selling Halloween mask. What will your picture produce? Another crappy, forgettable zombie picture? I imagine so. Best of luck.

I just get a little worked up (overly-so, might I add) when I see someone trying to fix something that in my opinion, wasn't broken. I couldn't believe I actually sat through the remake of Night of The Living Dead, with that super-dyke actress as the hero. She was twice the man I'll ever be. I'm a fan of b-movies and I have to admit to never having seen the original plan 9 from outer space but just from this trailer the movie is looking like an average zombocalypse movie.
I'll keep an eye on it but unless this does more to break from the pack i doubt I'll see it in theaters.
Yes, i realise they're low budget and going for a classic "B" feeling but there is a difference between B and plain. Zombie Hordes have been done to death lately, they're just not that scary.

I've been hearing about it for years but I've never seen a release date other than 2009, which you may notice has come and gone. Second, it's not just the production values that were flawed, it's the story itself; how the hell are they planning to make a "serious" version without fundamentally rewriting the story?

It just said on their facebook page that it is going to be shooting in just a few months from now. I guess in 2009 something happened but that is normal for indie films. Id just like to know which city its going to be filmed in.

you seem to be confusing remake and replacing everything with generic horror/zombie.disater film cliches. This could have easily been completley unrelated to plan 9 from the trailer and I wouldnt have noticed - having said that it does look lovley but thats exactly what I dont like about these films. Sure it will play it safe, stick to the conventions that have been done so many times and be passable, but why would anyone want to watch that. Thats why the original suceeds, its interesting.
