  • Ive got a fender squire and it sounds way better.

  • Just bought a Godin LG Signature... and now I'm selling my Jackson.

  • i tried to make one but i got caught cutting down the park tree

  • I have always fancied a Godin but every time i buy a new guitar i seem to get swayed by something else while trying them out. Maybe its just not to be :0/

  • a quivering effect... that distinctive electric guitar sound.

  • Is this for Standard Models or Boutique models?

  • I have the red xtsa at the :26 second mark...

  • She said "they flip her over". Hahaha

  • I personally will always choose a Godin over a Gibson or a Fender or a MusicMan. Not that I have anything against any of those other makers I just prefer the Godin feel and sound and how they are handmade in Canada and I am Canadian.

  • @MusicMan642 Actually, some of them (including my xtsa) are made in the USA (New Hampshire, i think)

  • @littlewillie65 I do believe the parts are built in Canada and they are just assembled in the New Hamphire plant.

  • @MusicMan642 That was my understanding as well. But at least some Yanks get in on the action. :)

  • @littlewillie65 That is true, at least it makes them superior quality for far less money then other import guitars. Due to not having to really cross any boarders other then between the Canada and the States

  • @MILLMANTV1 not ture. i know ppl who have work for both fender and gibson. not that much hand work goes into those guitars.. just saying

  • I just bought a Godin freeway and I think it's equal to a fender stratocastet

  • What model is that H-S-H configured, Strat-ish and maple-topped guitar?

    Thanks.

  • @DuskY1991 its just a standard godin

  • @DuskY1991 Godin Classic Freeway

  • OMG, MANSON GUITAR.

  • I like this video :-)

  • Then what???

  • Mad riff at the end!!

  • @Zverre yeah chromatic lines for the win!

  • "The press sucks oot all the air..."

  • 9:52 lol hi sucks XD

  • I purchased a Godin last year and it still plays extremely well. The quality is on par with Gibson, but the sound (to me at least) far surpasses Gibson's.

  • another great film, and the narrator has a weirdly appealing accent!

  • Comment removed

  • totally false, what she said about most electric guitars not having a bridge pickup. thats basically the only pickup thats always there!

  • Comment removed

  • @hockeyjockguitarist She's referring to the bridge mounted piezo - not a bridge position pickup. This is a feature that many godin guitars have. you are right though - she misunderstood what she was told and got confused between the two.

  • @zyxomma1 ah, that would explain it. a bridge mounted piezo is basically an acoustic pickup mounted on the bridge, correct?

  • why not glue it when it is wet?

  • @richard2mitchell maybe when the wood is super dry it absorbs the glue a bit making it hold better. mind you I'm just making stuff up so I could be way off :P

  • the guitar seems so sexy that i want it very much!

  • i love this show how its made the only thing i do not like is the person talking in this show reason why is they cant stop saying a worker we can see a worker is working on it to say it 50 times during a 23 minute show is crazy i can see the hands i know there not the person whos doing the talking lol

  • Whaoow! i got a left-handed Exit 22(the only lefty Godin makes!) and,it's just PERFECT!!love this canadian guitar!

  • @WilfridRUN lefty, nice... i cant play lefty, but im going to make a double neck (like Michael Angelo Batios MAB (the double sided) i gotta try the lefty :P

  • remarkable

  • I just wonder how long it takes to make a custom guitar....

  • Always amazing to see how these terrific guitars are made with ...

  • haha, shes canadian!

  • they should've did a gibson flying v.

  • @metalheadneji No. Gibsons are overrated and overpriced.

  • i love this show, it's awesome to see how things are made.

  • there was a video...exactly like this..with exactly the same words and commentary..but it was just by a guy

  • he didnt test the tremelo

  • she says standard electric guitars dont have a pickup in the bridge position WTF i have guitars that only have a bridge pick up and ive never seen one with out...

  • @Miniak She means a pickup on the actual bridge of the guitar (like the ones used in most electro acoustic guitars), a piezo one rather than a magnetic one.

  • @Miniak it's about the bridge itself - piezo or midi

  • She is wrong in the beginning, the first commercially successful electric guitar was the Fender Telecaster which was first introduced in 1949/1950.

  • @ShortFingeredShreder She doesn't mean the first commercially successful solid body, she means the first guitar able to be amplified.

  • @Eponymized Sorry, I thought that she said 1952 (the same year the Gibson Les Paul was introduced) but she actually said 1932, my bad.

  • That's a bit off at the beginning there when they talk about the woods used. Mahogany is not a light weight wood and a whole lot of guitars are made of Alder.

  • Doesn't matter if it takes them 5 months. It's like alcohol production, you start new batches as the old ones wait.

  • how old is this video

  • Ive had my godin for 11 years now .. still one of the best guitar I own. Artisan ST ..

When i get some decent $ im having them make me a 7 string neck-thru .. I wouldnt want any other company to custom build me a guitar

    except Mark Warr

  • yeah ok

  • lol so they need over 4-5 months to make a e-guitar ?

  • Fender necks are screwed together with a long wood screw. Godin uses a machine bolt into a nut.

  • You're wrong they use wood screws that are just a little smaller.

  • I own a 1998 Godin LGX 2-voice (electric and acoustic-electric), amber-colored quilt-top. Let me say that if I had to pare down my collection, it would be 1 of 2 guitars that I would keep over all others. I ordered it with the Godin 'Tetrad' pickups, instead of Duncans, as I wanted a unique sound (I already have several guitars with various Duncans), and it sounds great. I find the neck to be wide and flat compared to, say, a Les Paul, but it is very comfortable to play. Great guitar ! Peace:-)

  • 2 Months to dry the wood! That's crazy!

  • the neck on a godin feels so smooth.

  • A true bolt on, unlike Fender.

  • what do you mean a true bolt on? unlike a fender?

  • haah yeh but its still lol :P

  • Those are pretty nice axes. I like the one at 5:33.

  • that looks realy nice!!

  • wata fuking noob narrator any1 else agree? you tuen the knob to adjust the tune of the strings i mean come on lol

  • Actually no, she is right. The knob does adjust the truss. The tuning keys are for tuning.

  • i was talking about the machine heads

  • well you gotta realize that this was from a program on tv and a lot of people watching have absolutely no idea about anything when it comes to guitars

  • wow pretty complicated

  • haha when she says a sexy coating of paint she sounds horny

  • Wohoo! I love guitars!

  • dude! they forgot the volume and tone knobs! :P :P

  • no they didnt

  • 4:18 is obvisously an unknown step to the makers of mex-strats, damn, you can cut yourself up something bad on those:|

  • I played a £800.00 godin in a shop once it sounded like CRAP!. Sorry, but it did.

  • Shoulda got someone else to play it then,

  • again my guitar at 5:50

  • lol that my guitar

  • lol sexy eh?:P

  • I came across a DVD on Amazon called "A Complete Custom Electric Guitar" - if you search for this on YouTube you can find a preview on YouTube.

  • i loved the guitar at the begining

  • Wad the guitar called at 4:59?

  • les paul

  • jay6610

i think its the LGX-SA from the signature serie

  • did she say most guitars dont have a pickup at the bridge?

    ehhhh

  • she is talking about the piezoelectric pickup IN the bridge (not NEAR the bridge) that some Godins have to produce an accoustic sound out of an electric.

  • ah i thought that but couldnt see anything wierd about the bridge but ill take your word for it

  • i have a Godin Detour and ive had it for about a year and i love it! it has a great feel and great sound, i am definitly considering another godin for my next guitar!

  • who copied who Gibson or Godin

  • bumsdrums

what looks copied? i think the both companies guitars have their own caracteristics. It would be godin since its not as old as gibson, still godin is really inovative.

  • Nice Even my favorite guitar companie!

  • ive never even heard of a godin guitar, must suck a dick

  • go and suck a dick and by yourself a gibson copy you sad twat

  • Godin Acousticaster is the best semi-acoustic guitar ever!

  • I'd make one out of steel to play HEAVY METAL! lol, that would be.. heavy...

  • literally lol.

  • im thinkin about buying a acoustic guitar. do's any1 now a good kind of acoustic guitar?

  • I'd say Martin, because they're a bit small, so theyre easy to carry, which is good for beginners, and they sound amazing. :)

  • thanx

  • i personally like the Seagull also from Godin. b/c as the guitar gets older the sound gets even better ( i own one).if you are beginner then you should get a Yamaha or Takamine. i lean toward the Takamine because they have a bright beautiful sound and they are made of spruce wood which is the best wood you could possibly get a guitar to be made out of.

    good luck!

  • Martins are very expensive for a nice one. The lower priced Martins are made in Mexico. The lower end models have no binding or nice finish and horrible bracing. I'd only buy a Martin if I had over one grand. Buy a Seagull, Yamaha, Big Baby Taylor. Seagull s6 always gets best beginner acoustic guitar year after year. Plus Seagulls are hand mage in Canada not China or Korea. But location of where the guitar is made doesn't matter much for beginners. Try before you buy. Don't buy on the internet

  • well you should get a semi acoustic and if u want one get an Ibanez Talmaz i have one there awsome

  • the voice is soooo from canada

  • glue aint good

  • yo wtf is this true that they make the frets out of nickel and lead? because I'm like traumatized!

  • since when didnt guitars usually have a pick-up at the bridge? The 40's? LMAO

  • they meant a piezzo pickup

  • i saw my guitar!!! Exit 22 BABY!!!!!

  • YEAH, exit 22 FTW!

  • Why did I know I would find you here? :P

  • i work for godin in richmond the premier workshop

  • Are you in this video?

  • nah this is not in richmond its probably at princeville or berlin new hampshire .. the necks are done in lapatrie tho

  • lol when she said "sexy" at 4:53 I was kinda turned on

  • I have a LGXSA, it's great guitar.

  • since when don't you put some kind of actual knob on the volume/ tone things. It's really uncomfortable to turn thos plain pegs

  • so dats y they cost so much

  • Beautiful. ...That sure is a lot of work. I'll never complain about guitar prices again. ´^`

  • i was thinkin the exact same thing

  • me too

  • lol ME THREE

  • no matter how you look at it, guitars will ALWAYS be marked up on price. it's a sad truth.

  • check "Jimmy Foster Making an Archtop Guitar" and compare the way of making. Godin is only making a buissines IMHO :D

  • I've got a Kramer!

  • me too!

  • Nice.

  • i got a schecter :)

  • me too. what type?

  • From tree to instrument!

  • one time i tried to take apart my "Crap" guitar, i won it at ring toss once, and i messed up and almost completely messed it up but i eventually fixed it.

  • HAMER FTW

  • Godin dude. Godin all the way.

  • at 1:45 is that a gretsch?

  • no, its a godin montréal

  • love ibanez,fender,gibson,jackson and godins :D

  • hey ive got a jackson

  • so?

  • its was so funny the first time you had to say it twice. wow you have ALOT of time on your hands

  • if 30 secs is a lot...

  • k what was the point of shooting me down like seriously what is your problem also do you think there was any possible way you could have spent your time better other than being a ass to some one you dont even know like seriously shut your fuckin face

  • yeah... the problem here is... i dont care which guitars you have

  • dude shut up no one cares about what you say or who you are oh and i don't want you to reply im getting really of dealing with fagots like you this has gone on for days so just shut your fucking face and get out of my life oh and if you dont care what guitar i have THEN WHY SPEND TIME PISSING OTHER PEOPLE OFF

  • hey iv got a fender and a gibson

  • so?... want me to make you a party or something?

  • yes

  • Godins arent cheap guitars.

  • ah yeah it's funny when people talk about things they don't know ..

  • They're awesome value for money.

  • i like gretsch, fender, and gibson.

  • damn, thats an assload of wood, and assload of time. 4 months before they even start carving?

  • this would be a fun job

  • I like fenders and gibsons

  • :> I like Gibson and fender alot

  • her voice kinda makes me sleepy.

i prefer Gibsons, they are American made, but i also prefer deans.

  • i dont mind these ones. they're canadian made!

  • Amazing! I guess $470 is worth the price of an electric guitar...

  • i prefere gibsons. there hand cut and hand made. These are all done by machines

  • yeah and its so good they put the logo on guitar hero controllers

  • they didn't only "put" logos, the game is sponsorised, that's why rock band has a fender :)

but well guitar hero has a fender too now, no?

  • No, Rock Band has Fender. Guitar Hero has Gibson and Kramer for PS2.

  • its a game -_-

  • Okay, I know that, where are you going with this?

  • errr i have a gibson, and i'm not sure at all ... as far as i know for most of the work at least, it's done the same way

  • Godins are made in Canada and U.S.A. and are of similar quality to Gibson, however at a fraction of the price. Gibson and Fender rock, but you pay a lot for that name on the headstock!

  • no, they aren't

  • they can kick all 'em guitars's silly asses back in indonesia and china. Where they are crappilly made.

  • F'ers Godin Freeway can kick shitty Gibbyson and Iboonez

  • These guitars are the best.

  • boo these guitars suck. gibsons 4 ever

  • there are some gibsons shown, but not the one there making. Ibanez is good too isnt it?

  • I think standard guitar like YAMAHA will beat this brand......

  • Godin Guitars rock you F'ers!

  • Wow, Great video. Now I know where my guitar comes from. :)

  • The Godin Multiac Duet I have is a real piece of s**t. No difference in tone. Just too bassy. It changes bass tones during a set without me touching the controls. A real loser. Stay away from these overpriced rape of good wood. I wouldn't burn down a barn with one of them.

  • godin? use gibsons!

  • im a young and in my opinion a gibson is to heavy
