Yes, Bob trained me at Leeds Uni, then Randy Williams. Great club indeed.
I once stopped training for a few weeks during exams, during which time I was also eating crap food, etc, and often frequented our local pub in Leeds (not far from the dojo!).
After one of these pub visits, to my surprise, Bob turned up later and spotted me. He looked at me, then my beer belly, then said, "Get yourself at the club.." lol
Needless to say, I did, and was glad for it (plus a few pounds lighter!)

I trained with Sensei yesterday (1st of March) he came down to our local club in Barnstaple, it was such an honour to train with one of the legends of Karate.
@ldsmkt C'mon Sensei Rhodes is a great sensei but if he'd done that you'd be dead. Please don't spread bullshit like that it tarnishes the Shotokan spirit

Trained at his club 1971 1981.His kick was called the x-ray foot and punches were called steam trains.Kicked me once and sent me 8 feet thru the air.

Jesus! You got to be careful what button you press. I meant to add on my last comment-I bet they didn't use matts at their club either,it was a demo.

Pretty sharp,nicely done. We do similiar in our club,without the matts. Not as good as him though
