The folks up North have no idea how lucky they are to have CBC HNIC ! Bob Cole and Harry Neale are dynamite. So are McLean and Cherry. I'm a lifelong Bruins fan and we got spoiled with Fred Cusick on tv and Bob Wilson on radio. National announcers are usually very poor. Dan Kelly was excellent when I was a kid. Gary Thorne and Mike Emrick are very good play by play guys in the states. Color guys John Davidson and Darren Pang are awesome but that's where it ends. you can say Melrose is good too

as an ex-hartford whaler fan, i prefer to watch games on cbc rather than nbc. i agree, espn used to be ok, but i just love bob cole. even though it remains extremely painful for me to endure, i love my vhs tape of hfd vs mtl 2 ot game from may 1992 telecasted by cbc featuring the legendary bob cole. it should be duly noted that ever since the whale left hfd, i only support canadian teams. screw the u.s. teams, especially ny (rangers), bos, det, st. louie, carolina and philly.

Actually, I'm a U.S. American and I prefer CBC's hockey coverage over NBC, as CBC's hockey coverage is FAR superior to those at NBC. ESPN was very good when it had the NHL, right up there with CBC, but NBC is nowhere close.

Bob Cole should just get it over with already and wear a Leafs jersey during his broadcasts. That old delirious fool foams at the mouth every time the Leafs manage to touch the puck. "Hockey Night In Canada" should be renamed to "Let's Watch The Leafs Lose Again Canada". The CBC should stop putting emphasis on Canada's consistently worst team.

Bob Cole has had a great career but it's time to give it up. He struggles a lot it seems and he just doesn't bring as much to the table. Not to mention his incredible bias for the leafs is frustrating for me, a die hard Habs fan.

Bob Cole is the greatest hockey commentator of all time. His commentary makes the game better than it already is. I hope he stays with CBC for a few more seasons or longer

No way! Bob Cole should join TSN to finish his hockey broadcasting career. In fact, this vidclip has a VERY, VERY RARE on-camera appearance of Mr. Cole himself. Pierre McGuire will be Mr. Cole's colour analyst for future NHL on TSN telecasts.
