  • Cool band ! :))

  • wow, this is really great !

    never heard of them before

they are definitely a refreshing take on the Beatles

clever French girl teaching me American music, he he, merci ;)

  • i love you beatles! ! !

  • I love all the rip-offs of legit Beatles lyrics here.

And the song's title, of course, comes from "Well, she was just 17 / You know what I mean". Need I specify where that comes from?

I suspect that the extra "t" in Beattle-ettes wasn't a mistake, but was instead an intentional effort to avoid any potential legal restraining orders.

  • Little Steven played this on his show last week, and I found it here

    Wow!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is a great and very rare piece on this group. there are a few great sites on girl groups and they were one of the top 400. keep up the great work and keep 'em coming

  • Everybody thought it was The Shangri-las

  • I'm searching the song's lyrics! Has Anybody got them??

  • Sure sounds like the Shangra-Las

  • More Beat, Mod, and Garage videos!: -THE BEATTLE-ETTES -"ONLY SEVENTEEN" (1964) -THE BOOTLES- "I'LL LET YOU HOLD MY HAND" (1964) -JACQUELINE TAIEB- "7:00 AM" (1966) -THE WHAT FOUR-"I'M GONNA DESTROY THAT BOY" (1966) -JEANNIE & THE BIG GUYS- "I WANT YOU" (1964) -TONI McCANN-"SATURDAY DATE" (1966) -PATTI'S GROOVE- "IT WON'T LAST LONG" (1966) -THE BIRDIES- "THE HUCKLEBUCK '65" (1965) -NIKKI & THE CORVETTES-"Girls Like Me/ Let's Go" (1980) -THE BROOD -"I Need You There/ I'll Put You Down" (1988)
  • Beatle influence is far reaching and knows no bounds!

  • "Nothing is Beatle-proof!"

  • Damn good song which is now on Beatlemaniacs and Shabby Road

  • Mary Weiss says it's not the Shangri Las.

  • Ah well, it's a fun fantasy. But we have all of the Shangri-La's great songs to enjoy, so who can complain? And Mary does the best dramatic monologues in Rock history!

  • Her new album is pretty good, too.

  • What an awesome song!
