I've had my blue nose razor back pitbull for almost 5 years. She is the sweetest dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. She's great around toddlers,children, and other dogs. She was attacked by a German shepherd who was off his leash and didn't fight back at all,all she did was bark to scare off the dog. She's so timid and quiet and just loves to cuddle with anyone,even strangers,who tend to take a liking to her because of her beautiful blue fur and markings. Being someone who has worked in the animal care industry for the last ten years I can honestly say it's the owners who ultimately influence the way these dogs turn out and it isn't just this breed. I have seen aggressive dogs of all shapes and sizes. I think it's time we acknowledged how much influence bad owners have on their animals.

The violence is not in the breed. The violence is in the people that train them to fight by injecting them with steroids and brutalizing them so that they become killers. Pit Bulls were selected as fighters because of their devotion to their masters which makes them so easy to train. If all Pit Bulls are eliminated they will just select the next breed to develop into fighters. The ones to do away with then are the trainers and all those involved in dogfighting!

I work at a gas station in oak cliff texas, just three days ago I took a pitbull from a lady who was beating it a tennis racket. The truth is that a lot of black people do these things to pitbulls. sorry if that sounds racist but the people around here use them as a symbol of power or to add to their tough guy image. if we kill all the pit bulls in the world, we will soon find out that another breed will make irs way to replace the them.

This is so sad...The dogs are not the ones to blame..the only reason some of these poor animals act that way is the owners who are abusing them and showing them to be nasty..which is the case with ANY breed of dog..show hate receive hate! As a person who has had to watch her daughter and grandchildren have the dog they loved put to sleep because of people's ignorance, it makes me very angry to hear people say the horrible things they do about pit bulls. We have several pit bulls in our family and know them to be loving, gentle animals. Want to meet a true pit bull and find out what they are really like, find one who has been raised in a family.
My good friend has a pit bull, i bring over my tiny pomeranian to play and my pom thinks he's all that and a box of dog treats and probably more, but my friend pitty just takes the playfull-ness in my pom until he tires himself out. Pit-bulls are great animals, my friends pit-bull was beaten by a guy and thrown around but the dog still turned out fantastic and loving.

I've known so many pit bulls that are love monkeys, sweethearts and best friends. This video shows what a typical pit bull is like. The ones I've known are gentle even when others are being aggressive with them. BSL needs to get their heads on straight and dissolve this organization.
maybe there would be a way to identify the specific animal by certification through the Vet & Animal Control - licensing, microchipping, etc. - so there can be an out for the animal & the families from the 'bad' dogs? in my old neighborhood the pits, rotties, etc. were NOT family pets - they were tied up in the yards for noise & status symbols - abused really...
I adopted a dog out of Hurricane Katrina. I didn't know what I'd get. I just said yes. So then I get a pit bull puppy. I already had two dogs, both "rescued," so I was used to the idea, but a pit? She's the sweetest dog you'd ever want to meet. For "formal" purposes I call her a "terrier mix," but all in all, a dog is what you give, I guess. Or maybe a dog is ready to be your friend. Either way, the breed is irrelevant.
I think the ban on pit bulls is due to keeping dog fighting out of the inner city. However, if this is the case, then people will just train other breeds of dogs for fighting. It is true that if a dog has been used for fighting it can be very difficult to re-train or rehabilitate, but if a dog, such as a pit bull, is raised in a loving home, it isn't any more dangerous than any other breed. more people are actually bitten by small dogs or toy breeds than by bigger dogs, including pit bulls.

The news refused to cover the story because they pit was the one attacked. There are many MANY stories of Golden's and other "family" dogs attacking and even killing kids. i live in Idaho, they've tried this legislation twice. except i don't own a pit, i own a doberman and he looks mean. and he is everything that you would expect from a golden retriever, with a lil more glam to it lol. when Idaho couldn't pass a law against owning certain breeds of dogs they made it so you would get fined 1000$ and owning these breeds would make it almost impossible to move into some neighborhoods and apartment complexes.
So true my sister fought this legislation in Prince Georges County, Maryland for years and always worried that here red nose terrier would be snatched :'( I live in West Virginia where no crazy law like this exists :-) My daughter has a Red Nose and it is everything like the video shows. One of the smartest and loving dogs I've ever seen.

@kumasatra A dog can be every single one of those things listed to it's owner. being a friend, a teammate, a "date", a "beauty queen", a reason to live, a forever love, or any of the characteristics have nothing to with being human. I have worked at a vet and all the marks and scars on my hands are from small breeds. I worked with Pit Bulls that where torn to pieces by wild baboons and while cleaning their wounds all they would do is lick my face in protest. I am much more scared of handling spoiled toy breeds than a so called "dangerous" dogs. It makes me sick to think that animals have to pay for the few human idiots that don't raise them properly.
The dog is only how it is depending on how their owner raises and treats it. Word gets around and everyone assumes Staffies and Pitbulls are dangerous, when they're really not. Read "Freakonomics" for a study that showed that pitbulls were no more dangerous than any other breed of dog. Every time a "new" breed becomes popular, more people buy them and attacks go up. It's inevitable. Has nothing to do with the violent tendencies of the breed.

I did a research paper on BSL and pit bulls. I found out some very interesting information about Pit Bulls. They score higher on the temperament test than Golden Retrievers! I love my pittie so much! She is a sweet heart!! She has never hurt or tried to hurt anyone! Ban the deed not the breed!!

RESEARCH YOUR BREED PEOPLE!!!!!! pit bulls are called the baby sitting dog and don't make good guard dogs because of their LOVE FOR PEOPLE! the dogs who were bred to fight in dog rings were taught to fight OTHER dogs and at any time any person was to step in and separate the dogs, even if it wasn't the owner. if a dog even accidently bit a person they were culled on the spot so that no human aggresive dogs were bred. chiuauas have a higher bite record.
I have been an owner of Pit Bulls for over 7 years, I have also owned a Great Dane, a Standard Schnauzer, multiple Labrador Retrievers, a Cocker Spaniel, a Chow/German Sheperd Mix, and a Rhodesian Ridgeback - loved them all but the MOST loyal out of all of those breeds is hands-down the Pit Bulls I have been blessed with in my life. I currently own 2 Pit Bulls - a male and a female - they are the greatest companions I could have ever chosen for my children.
I do animal rescue and have since I was 13. This has been 5 years of experience and 5 years around Pit Bulls. Have I ever once felt endangered? Never. These animals are big babies who love to give kisses and love attention. They are so loyal and so beautiful. Due to animal rescue, they are my favorite breed of dog. I want everyone who is afraid of pit bulls to meet one at a rescue. Have I ever been bitten? Yes, by a CHIHUAHUA, a POMERANIAN, A BULLDOG. Never a Pit Bull. Never.

I've had my blue nose razor back pitbull for almost 5 years. She is the sweetest dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. She's great around toddlers,children, and other dogs. She was attacked by a German shepherd who was off his leash and didn't fight back at all,all she did was bark to scare off the dog. She's so timid and quiet and just loves to cuddle with anyone,even strangers,who tend to take a liking to her because of her beautiful blue fur and markings. Being someone who has worked in the animal care industry for the last ten years I can honestly say it's the owners who ultimately influence the way these dogs turn out and it isn't just this breed. I have seen aggressive dogs of all shapes and sizes. I think it's time we acknowledged how much influence bad owners have on their animals.

The violence is not in the breed. The violence is in the people that train them to fight by injecting them with steroids and brutalizing them so that they become killers. Pit Bulls were selected as fighters because of their devotion to their masters which makes them so easy to train. If all Pit Bulls are eliminated they will just select the next breed to develop into fighters. The ones to do away with then are the trainers and all those involved in dogfighting!

I work at a gas station in oak cliff texas, just three days ago I took a pitbull from a lady who was beating it a tennis racket. Outstanding video. As a person who has had to watch her daughter and grandchildren have the dog they loved put to sleep because of people's ignorance, it makes me very angry to hear people say the horrible things they do about pit bulls. We have several pit bulls in our family and know them to be loving, gentle animals. Want to meet a true pit bull and find out what they are really like, find one who has been raised in a family.

My good friend has a pit bull, i bring over my tiny pomeranian to play and my pom thinks he's all that and a box of dog treats and probably more, but my friend pitty just takes the playfull-ness in my pom until he tires himself out. Pit-bulls are great animals, my friends pit-bull was beaten by a guy and thrown around but the dog still turned out fantastic and loving.

I have a pit and she is SOOOOOO lovable if she would get taken away I would cry as if I lost my own child! My hubby is in the military and she is my companion more when he is gone! I've known so many pit bulls that are love monkeys, sweethearts and best friends. This video shows what a typical pit bull is like. The ones I've known are gentle even when others are being aggressive with them. BSL needs to get their heads on straight and dissolve this organization.

maybe there would be a way to identify the specific animal by certification through the Vet & Animal Control - licensing, microchipping, etc. - so there can be an out for the animal & the families from the 'bad' dogs? in my old neighborhood the pits, rotties, etc. were NOT family pets - they were tied up in the yards for noise & status symbols - abused really...

I adopted a dog out of Hurricane Katrina. I didn't know what I'd get. I just said yes. So then I get a pit bull puppy. I already had two dogs, both "rescued," so I was used to the idea, but a pit? She's the sweetest dog you'd ever want to meet. For "formal" purposes I call her a "terrier mix," but all in all, a dog is what you give, I guess. Or maybe a dog is ready to be your friend. Either way, the breed is irrelevant.

I think the ban on pit bulls is due to keeping dog fighting out of the inner city. However, if this is the case, then people will just train other breeds of dogs for fighting. It is true that if a dog has been used for fighting it can be very difficult to re-train or rehabilitate, but if a dog, such as a pit bull, is raised in a loving home, it isn't any more dangerous than any other breed. more people are actually bitten by small dogs or toy breeds than by bigger dogs, including pit bulls.

The news refused to cover the story because they pit was the one attacked. There are many MANY stories of Golden's and other "family" dogs attacking and even killing kids. You know why they only cover pits? Because it SELLS, nothing more.

i live in Idaho, they've tried this legislation twice. except i don't own a pit, i own a doberman and he looks mean. and he is everything that you would expect from a golden retriever, with a lil more glam to it lol. when Idaho couldn't pass a law against owning certain breeds of dogs they made it so you would get fined 1000$ and owning these breeds would make it almost impossible to move into some neighborhoods and apartment complexes.

So true my sister fought this legislation in Prince Georges County, Maryland for years and always worried that here red nose terrier would be snatched :'( I live in West Virginia where no crazy law like this exists :-) My daughter has a Red Nose and it is everything like the video shows. I have worked at a vet and all the marks and scars on my hands are from small breeds. I worked with Pit Bulls that where torn to pieces by wild baboons and while cleaning their wounds all they would do is lick my face in protest. I am much more scared of handling spoiled toy breeds than a so called "dangerous" dogs. It makes me sick to think that animals have to pay for the few human idiots that don't raise them properly.

The dog is only how it is depending on how their owner raises and treats it. Word gets around and everyone assumes Staffies and Pitbulls are dangerous, when they're really not. Read "Freakonomics" for a study that showed that pitbulls were no more dangerous than any other breed of dog. Every time a "new" breed becomes popular, more people buy them and attacks go up. It's inevitable. Has nothing to do with the violent tendencies of the breed.

It is sad that so many have to suffer.In the wrong hands any dog breed can be "vicious" it is not their fault it is the people that neglect them. On top of that you ask someone what a "pitbull" is and they are going to pick any large headed dog, before they try to ban a dog breed perhaps they should learn about them. I have been an owner of Pit Bulls for over 7 years, I have also owned a Great Dane, a Standard Schnauzer, multiple Labrador Retrievers, a Cocker Spaniel, a Chow/German Sheperd Mix, and a Rhodesian Ridgeback - loved them all but the MOST loyal out of all of those breeds is hands-down the Pit Bulls I have been blessed with in my life. I currently own 2 Pit Bulls - a male and a female - they are the greatest companions I could have ever chosen for my children.

I do animal rescue and have since I was 13. This has been 5 years of experience and 5 years around Pit Bulls. Have I ever once felt endangered? Never. These animals are big babies who love to give kisses and love attention. They are so loyal and so beautiful. Due to animal rescue, they are my favorite breed of dog. all my haters out there, lol.. BEWARE OF THE PIT!!! he shall bite off & EAT like NOM NOM NOM the hands the feed & get near him.. Im telling u, its all fun & games w.these dogs until they bite ur head off.. REMOVE MY POSITIVE FEEDBACK? wowwwww!!!! anyways, Im oneless fan of these so called friendly dogs.. @EVILCURE Have you checked into how many people have been mauled by "family friendly" dogs? My Labrador Retriever I had growing up had more tendencies to nip and bite than any Pit Bull I have had. Unfortunately, you are one of those that believe the problem is with the breed and not the owner, but facts is - ANY breed of dog can be vicious, threatening, and mean, it depends on how they have been treated and whether or not they have been socialized.

@EVILCURE I have known more than 20 children that have been raised with Pit Bulls as their family pet and they are now grown and healthy, with Pit Bulls of their own. A Pit Bull is a loyal family friendly animal as long as the owner has the same mentality. If a ruthless owner has ANY breed of canine, it is guaranteed that it will be of the same mentality due to training, structure, and socialization patterns. Get your facts straight before you try spreading your propaganda.
