Last thing Bruce said......just getting warmed up here!! That's one of the great things about those shows back then. He wore us out. We couldn't get enough of that heaven back then. That was our time if you're about 50 like me!!
Wow is right! You could see the bond between them and it lasted more than 3 decades. I first saw them in 1977, a little over a year before this video.
Wow, what a performance. What great chemistry Bruce and Clarence had. Irreplacable. It'll surely be sorely missed. Bruce, thanks for sharing the big man with us, and, thank you for this fun video.
I have grown up listening to Bruce Springsteen, and I know every one of his songs. I am an admitted metalhead. I have never forgotten my roots, and I can say without hesitation that this is by far the greatest song ever written.
I remember seeing him around this time, either at MSG or the Meadowlands, and he ended the song with "town for losers, we're pulling out of here to win.......Tonight!" and he said the Tonight while pointing out to the audience. Of course I felt he was looking right at ME.
never tire of this song. after 30 yrs as a fan managed to catch him on the red carpet in london last week (here for the premier of the promise), and say thank you for the music. looking forward to many more years of music , tours and inspiration
The beginning of this song is one of the most effectives beginnings ever... Screen door slams, Mary's dress waves, like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays. It really renders greatly the atmosphere
@TheEdMulrooneyShow The sceen door slams....Roy Orbison singing for the lonely, hey that's me and I want you only.....you know just what I'm here for.....
@MsBrucejuice "You aint no beauty but hey, you're alright - and that's alright with me" has always been my favorite line of any of Bruce's songs. It's like Obama said; He only went for the presidency because Bruce had already taken the job as Boss :)

Always wondered how only the sound of Roy and Bruce could make the best song ever!
Pure poetry indeed.
The line that says it all for this song is: "We got one last chance to make it real, to trade in these wings on some wheels".
