I don't think when Maradona has a 5 star is overated at all because of very simple reasons:
1. A one player who is able to lead a whole team like Napoli from no where to champions of italy when the Italian league had most of the world's best players at the time.
2. A player who could not be marked by any of the world's best defenders.
3. Lived in a period where media wasn't as strong as now (a media that can turn someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, whom his danger is gone by only one player, into the best player in the world- lol - how strange).
I am a fan of Ronaldinho and Zidan, but I'd still say that sometimes, when ther're playing, they give you the feeling as if they weren't there (Ronaldinho in UEFA final with Liverpool 2 years ago - and - Zidan in France early stages in World Cup 2002) ,
Exactly! I think Ronaldiho is overrated aswell, apart from a few flash moments every now and then he didn't do much... Steven Gerrard is a much better player but because he doesn't do stepovers he musn't be good. Maybe if his name was Gerrardinho?
