  • I found out that the additive calcium propionate in most breads is a trigger for migraine aura .

I am trying to find everything to prevent migraine aura it makes my life miserable .

  • i have this, its bad I cant see anything... its blurry and i see a snake like thing that is colored like a rainbow

  • THIS IS WHAT I GET! I had this twice in one week and been getting it since i was a child. I get sort of a zig-zag vision for about 30 minutes and travels across my peripheral vision and i start to get a headache and when i move my eyes it's very painful. And it stays sore for maybe 1-2 days but after the sore eye's i always get sick. even if i don't throw up i will still feel sick.

  • Ive had this migraine for 2 and a half day and im 14 think about how i felt ly arm got numb thought i had a clott but thank god. My left eye had a zigzag blur in it and i went to bed woke up 30 min later and my head almost felt like it was gong to explode!

  • Please go onto the es-uk.info forum, you will find many links and posts from others who are unfortunately suffering due to the wireless industry.

  • You can easy do at your my migraine pressure points device so you can put them on the head and stop the aura and the headache: do search using 2 words (migraine and sultaneh) or ww.alisultaneh dot 8m dot com

  • Just wanted to add that hempseed or rice protein supplements do NOT ever cause migraine symptoms for me, so perhaps others want to try them as their source of protein drink.

  • Colostrum supplements, whey protein supplements, SoBe, Naked, Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, and broccoli in a salad bar cause my migraine auras, as well as other unidentified sources. Many of these are attributed to hidden MSG derivatives, yet I don't get migraine aura with Chinese foods, although I feel lousy. Another thing, is I never get them the "first time" I eat or drink these foods, it seems to be after the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time during say, a two week period which demonstrates accumulation.

  • @AmazonBlondeum the reason you get an aura weeks later is because you are intolerant to the additives you are eating, it is different to a food allergy, intolerance is a build of additives which lead to aura ,

  • I hate ocular migraines... Im 12 years old i have life to be wearing me out at the moment not these... I hate them everytime i have one a colourful zigzag aura is in my eye spreading round the periphery... then i have the WORST headache ever imaginable. i just sit down and do nothign watchign TV and try to ignore it... But i never can. All i want is 4 them TO piss off and leave me alone but they wont. If this carrys on i feel like i want to kill myself its so bad i also have aching arm for ever.

  • @XboxLass1234 try a food diary and eat food without any additives you will notice a difference i understand how you feel , you have all your life ahead of you so if you can find out what is causing your auras. Look at the bread and cookies you are eating too and if there are additives such as calcium propionate then don't eat them , make your own they are better and tastier , hope this helps let me know how you get on .

  • Electro-Sensitivity (ES)

Electro-sensitive people suffer from a variety of symptoms in close vicinity to electromagnetic fields, Wi-fi, mobiles, DECT phones, baby monitors, certain light sources etc: Headaches, Speech problems, dizziness, chest palpations, tinnitus, sweating at night. skin irritations, pins and needles in the hands in the mornings, short-term memory loss, nauseas, joint aches and pressures at the back of the head as well as in the sinus or forehead area.

  • @MrSpinneyhorse You described almost every single symptom I have. Do you think I have electro sensitivity

  • @MintyFresh1999

I really hope not, its not nice.

  • @MrSpinneyhorse You are right i think, the brain works with EMF' in the ELF range. have they done any studies as to area, time and the number of people in that said area, and if they are getting the migraine at the same times? we know the military use ELF';s all the time and the brain can "lock on" to an external frequency, and bring on emotional and psychological effects, may be even physical. Some people would be more sensitive to them than others, but even so, there should be a pattern?

  • Even if you are not ES, it is beneficial to turn off your Wifi over night, as well as to ban electrical items, your cordless phones and mobiles from your bedroom. You will sleep much better and are less likely to have an interrupted sleep pattern. Usually waking around 4 am.

  • Another simple test is to stop carrying your mobile on your body (chest or trouser pockets). in many cases people experience the so-called “phantom text messages”. This describes a situation where every now and then you think you had a text message, when keeping the phone in your pockets, but when you checked there was no message. Some even suffer from heart palpitations. If that is case, just try for a while to carry your mobile in a bag or switch it off, while you have it in your pocket.

  • im having one of these right now, they really suck, its like someone putting the tv on the static station and it just moves around your eye

  • I hate that aura feeling. It pisses me off!

  • Why do i have it all time?

Its just a light show with me all the time.

  • @guitarboy12 Persistent Migraine Aura

  • @guitarboy12 do you have tracers on lights and what not?

  • @420TOK3R What do you mean by 'Tracers'

  • @guitarboy12 like a ghostly blur that follows whatever your looking away from..

  • I have a migraine with an aura of impaired vision, hand, face numbness and speach disorder, BUT i only get migraine attacks after exciting sports like Ice Hockey, Floorball etc, i recently started training in Ice Hockey again and about 30 minutes after the end of the training i get a Migraine. And there is one more thing that i think is linked - my heart doesnt calm down after the training, i'm sure of that i have elevated blood pressure right before and during the migraine. What might help?

  • i also had temporary memory loss

  • I had a headache first then my vision became impaired then i had white flashing on the bottom left corner of my left eye then i became dizzy and lightheaded then my left arm and left side of my face went numb, i had no sensitivity to light, i also had problems breathing, then my right eye became blurry and impaired but not as bad and had no white flashing. any thing to help me understand this would be greatly appreicated

  • I absolutely have no idea what kinda of headache i've been possessing for years, but tis really disturbing and stressing. Because of it, i always have mood swings, and it makes my day worse every day. I wanna kill dis freaking pain. Guess dats de reason why im going to school for being sth to cure it. Any body knows to at least cure it temporarily?

  • I get really blurry vision, then I see the lights, but I don't always get the headache....But then I have difficulty speaking.. why is that??

  • @iLikeeTuurtles the same thing happened to me in november. i'm 16 in highschool and in my first period class i was losing the sight in my left eye. and was freaking out in class. i got to the nurses office and just went up to her and was like, Im going blind in my left!!. so i went home and to the eye doctor and he said it was this, a migraine. i dont know why but i didint get a headache.

  • @skaterman0094 That's called a silent migraine and you want to consider yourself lucky that you didn't get the actual headache.

  • @oT0W3Ro Wow, i am lucky because i've had 2 silent migraines and never had a headache afterwards. i hope its always like that

  • @kels0902 its called weed

  • I get this entire head pressure, I feel sensitive to light and my head hurts around my eyes and it is just the worst thing in the world it makes me feel dizzy and sometimes my vision gets blurry, but I usually see spots and stuff ugh it is terrible. Does anyone feel the same symptoms as I do? I sometimes feel alone on this. :[

  • im only 13 and i got my first migrain when i was 12 it sucked i was in the hospital for 3 days i thought i was going to die.

  • god. just hearing you talk about the actual symptoms makes me sick. they are a curse. i wish somebody had the answers for us what really cause them. my mother had migraines but i ve inheritated much worse version of them. visual disturbances, nubness, terrible pain, nausea vomitting, jesus and all the saints. help us.

  • @fornow100000 me too :( it's terrible and they've gotten worse over time

  • I lost my job becaue of this. I have been suffering from Migriane with arua to the fullest sence I was 14. I'm 31 now, I get blind flashing lights in my vision, numbness in either my right or left arm and hands into my mouth and face, and I cant think or even complete a simple sentance with out my speech being disturbed. This all happens 45 min to an hour before my pain. Once the pain is there its on one side of my head (opposite side from which ever I lose my vision and where I go numb...PAIN!!

  • @whiteknight4879

that happens to me am only 15 and i been the hospital its either u dont drink enough water or to stressed and need more sleep.

  • @iBlaZzeZ oh yeah, I was always at the hospital for them!!!! But its horrible i know trust me. Do the same exact things (aura) happen to you?? The blindness numbness and confused speech? What scares me is all of the symptoms we have are exactly the same symptoms as a stroke.

  • @whiteknight4879

yeah mate numbness my hands and lips ( sometimes) and i cant see quite well and can't really speak well i have to sit in a dark room as the light makes my head hurt so much!

  • @whiteknight4879 does any of those headaches make u throw up cause ill get one over my right eye and makes me feel so sick i throw up then it just goes away its weird

  • @1121mdcity . yes, i always throw up, 1st i get the aura, and i get the zig zaggy lines, and words from oages like disapear, then i always get rle sick jus b4 the headache comes, but ive been told being sick is completely normal

  • @1121mdcity thats is weird and YES I get sick everytime.

  • I have suffered with migraine's all my life.... I now take Magnesium Citrate daily... 200mg in the morning with breakfast, 200mg at night with dinner.... not had one FOR A YEAR !!! I HIGHLY recommend trying it

  • can an aura also be like a de ja vu experience??

  • @1ikys2 not sure if it can happen with migraines but that's a common occurrence with seizures.

  • stop the ads on you tube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate aura migraine i get dizzy and almost fall over most of the timewhen i am at school or out but when i am at home i take a pill and goes to sleep.

  • Ok,so those of us the have auras know what they are ,whats the treatment for it?

  • @cast390 food that causes them are yogurt wheat and malt extract also monosdium glutamate check them out,not eveyone have these food intollerances it might other foods but for me these seem to cause them and they scare me and I am axious for days afterwards they are really evil migraines aura :(

  • @cast390 I get the auras during the winter when my house is heated with natural gases. My bed also happens to be right in the direction of where my heat vent blows and I have noticed when I close it I don't get migraines anymore. I am not sure if anyone has noticed this either though but usually I get an aura then numbness on my left half of my body then I cant talk and and get really nauseous and eventually throw up the rest of the day :( it's awful.

  • @angrytuna090 You suffer from an almost paralysis state.Thats horribile I feel sorry for you.I don't get i that bad. While I do get migraines,I never get them after an aura.I do however get 2x's as many auras then migraines. My auras only affect my vision.I get the colorful lighting bolts, and I lose part of my vision and can not focus for 30 min.or so.

  • During my aura before I learned selfcontrol my BP would shoot up so high I would have to be medicated. One arm would get numb, distorted speach, signs of a stroke always go to the ER when this occurs, be safe. Mine was due to anxiety during my episodes. To control my fear I would find folding clothes and deep breathes this would get me through, that's my outlet, doing anything to keep my mind busy. It works for me.

  • You know the aura goes into steps,,first step is distorted vision, second step is zig zags you can tell after the zags your migraine aura is almost over!! Then your headache begins, this is how mine have always started and ended. Sometimes your speach will be distorted but during that time don't try and talk, that will return. learn with each episode to control your anxiety thats easier said then done. With practice you will learn self control. Blood pressure will rise as well.

  • All of the symptoms are not medically critical. Although there are some signes that if they happen you should see a doctor. There is nothing to worry about. I don't know about you guys but my migranes last 1-3 weeks straight. So I have to miss school time because of them. What I do to help relive pain is to take an advil, go into a quiet dark area and lay down with a cold wash cloth on your head. Drink lots of water it will help. Keep a bucket near incase of vommiting.

  • They do suck. I was diagnosed with them when i was 8 years old. Actually drinks that are caffinated are supposed to help sooth it belive it or not. I am currentily doing a paper on migranes for my senior project. Everyone in my family has been diagnosed with them so I have to prove if there heredity or not.

  • when i get aura i feel totaly sick it actually frightens me because i hate migraines

i stay away from all types of food gropes associated with migraines such as

    caffinated drinks

    chocolate

cheese and drinks that contain a soure of phenylalanine

  • @andrewm337 I have had them with aura three days in a row, I was shopping and had to drive, imagine that. My side vision is totally gone it's hard to concentrate and drive, but I had no choice. I was working and had one, cutting hair, I had to finish the cut!!. I use to have anxiety during an aura, but have learned to be calm, that takes practice with each one. I call it a phase, step one the vision is distorted, phase two the zig zags start, that's the end of that until your headache starts.

  • holy haha iove had these for a while and my friend just told me to check this out.. thats NUTS.. i freaked out the first time i went like totally blind... :|

  • I'm 18. I got this aura in my right eye just 2 days ago... I was scared :[

  • having and aura right now it looks like an arrow moving towards in to my head WTF? XD

  • i get these when im on my computer to much. are these dangerous? please reply

  • I just had my second episode wich speech problems. I feen funny and lightheaded then I become unable to speak write or read or understand well what people are saying. I switch words and mix them, and sometimes I just make noises when I try to speak and I find it difficult to perfom simple tasks. Normally I just get my vision blocked by light spots preventing me from seeing and after a while with this I get the mother of all headaches.

  • i get migrains in school all the time. but now that its summer im not as scared when i get them. but there ruining my life im constantly scared im going to get them. when i got them at school i was horrified because i would start balling because i was freaked out that i couldnt see and i knew i had to go on all day through school with it but my aura is for hours it stays evn when i have the headache sometimes i just get auras not the headache please let me know if somthing else is wrong);

  • I get bad migraines but I've never had auras

  • I had one 1 hour ago, now the headache has arrived.... this sucks..

  • @a2dli mine is speed it i get the aura and then 3 minutes i get a 2 hr or 1 hr long headache yeah it sucks bawls

  • I just had one of these for the first time. It scared me half to death. These are the times when I thank goodness for the internet. Knowledge is power.

  • I think that migraine can be controlled .well for me avoiding bright light, esp TV or computer. If you have to use it wear a dark shades, sleeping at least 6-8 hrs, limiting loud noise, avoiding dairy products esp cheese. taking vitamins, eating greens and not stressing your self too much.

  • @Landolakes222 whats wrong with dairy products? Cos i drink milk nowadays... is that bad for migraine? :S please explain. thanks.

  • @nafertini901 Sorry for responding so late, hope you get this, anyways, the milk prevents iron from being absorbed, this creates low oxygen in the body since hemoglobin needs iron, thus it makes our blood weak, resulting in increased pressure since the body is trying to compensated for the low o2 levels. This results in headache due to the increased pressure of blood to the brain. that's why dairy products is a no no if you experience migraine. you may have iron deficiency anemia...........

  • I had a migraine so I took a nap for 2 hours and then I felt better

  • So just 2 days ago I experienced a pretty severe migraine. I basically had a headache at the back my eyes, numbness and coldness of the feet and hands, constant vomiting, tunnel vision, dizziness, difficulty walking, keeping balance, and confusion. All of which were recurring throughout the day, and I was just wondering if these were perhaps this aura spoken of.

  • My migraines for the last 2 days have been at a 2 on that scale that isausol said.

  • hi guys i get migraine aura and i also get a lot of dizziness and vertigo contsantly its really ruining my life im going to see the neurologist in february so hopefully i can get the right medication

  • I have migraine with aura and it runs my entire life. I'm scared to go anywhere without my boyfriend or close family in fear that one could strike at any moment :(

  • i see flashing lights like lightning then my vision is completely blurry , and twice my whole left hand side of my body went completley numb but i dont usually get the headaches. dr tell me i have silent migraine, is it safe to drive like this ????

  • The aura is not always part of a migraine. However, migraines are on a 4 point scale:

    0 = No pain

1 = mild pain, does not interfere with usual activities

2 = moderate pain, inhibits, but does not wholly prevent usual activities

3 = severe pain, prevents all activities

For information look it up on wikipedia, and also go to migraine(dot)com

  • I get this and it crosses from one eye to another XXXXxxxxxxx flashing. I got it once when i was driving on a motorway and it was wet dark and raining heavy. with trucks screaming bye i just had to keep going, It was horrable.

  • @PogoFogo omgosh, how did you manage?! i had my first visual migraine today, but luckily i was at home. that was scary enough!

oh, and i'm sorry i'm replying to such an old comment but i'm quite freaked out, trying to gather as much information as possible so i can be prepared if it ever happens again.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

  • @cigarettesandchai U get them from what u eat or drink, I done an experiment on

myself. I bought a 5lb tub of whey protein with man made sweetener AcesulFame-k

half way through i started getting Migraines, One time i got 3 in one day.

Just to make sure it was the Acesulfame-k and not the Whey protein i bought

natural Whey without AcesulFlame and good bye Migraines.

  • @cigarettesandchai I was getting a migraine every day at one stage with the whey protein powder, Diet Drinks are just as bad they have Aspartame in them.

watch out for Sucalose, Splenda, Aspartame, Neotame, AcesulFame-k, AcesulFame-Potassium U have to read the small print on labels.

I gave all that crap up and i can live my life now without fear

  • @cigarettesandchai i just had my first aura yesterday in school.. i thought i was going crazy at first.... i am also very freaked out... i just hope i dont get it ever again... not a fun thing to deal with

  • @dazzif i feel ya. i'm hoping the same. it's been about 3 weeks and i haven't had another episode... so i'm thankful. i'm constantly worried tho... it's horrid.

nope. definitely no fun at all.

  • I have suffered since childhood, and now both my children have them as well. The paralysis can be very frightening, and the pain excruciating. I would not wish this on anyone. The new medications are the saving grace for my children as are -avoiding certain foods, smells, decreasing stress, balancing hormones and avoiding certain environmental

    situations can help tremedously.

  • I used to get them. I don't get migrianes as much. I don't get them all the time when I get the migrianes. I could tell I am getting it sometimes. Gr.... They suck.

  • i get this thingie i used tyonale now i belive that crap is the best stuff in the world

  • This is exactly what migraine aura is.
