  • I sooo want the album "2 gate push". My favorite songs are "proxy pylon near opponent", "chrono boosting zealots", and also "more gateways". If anyone gots a spare cd send it my way!

  • Good strategy, I would like to point out something rather important here , you should always head for his drones (with your zealots) after you kill his queen and the 2 or 3 zerglings he may have , just because killing a hatchery in building progress has no point at all ... always head for Main. Keep it up, oh, control groups for those gateways would have spared you the hassle of having a weak macro as you said, Cheers man !

  • As a zerg when u see the initial waves, put down baneling nest = GG. I got raped by that when i tried this

  • So....just your average 2 Gate proxy except with a faint in your base. Definitely improved on the fall back without having to sacrifice TOO much of the original proxy. If you devote as much time and effort into improving your late game strategies instead of rush/cheese you might actually be a bit fearsome.

  • y didnt you attack and destroy the spawning pool, totally stopping the zergling production?

  • how do you defend against early zerglings? every zerg game i play before i can even get out near enough zelots i get attacked by quiet a few zerglings

  • @redrex7819 scout around 9 supply, if they have a spawning pool and about several drones start walling off and build units such as marines or zealots, build more building behind any building that will be destroyed and kill the zerglings while keeping a wall, as a zerg =/

  • @xxDarkGlovesxx As a Zerg, well, if you saw the pool early then get your own pool immediately. Depend on how long you take to discovered it, you may forced to fight with your drones during initial wave. after your pool's up, Spine crawler and zerglings ASAP.

    In fact, 12 pool are fine vs 6 pool, it'll up soon enough (Spine crawler on the way when the 1st wave hit). 14 pool is too late and you'll always have to resorts to your drones for the first wave of 6 pool zerglings.

  • @lemon9265 Loled. If somebody was smart enough they could counter this, or atleast try. and plus, nobody cares about long games when it comes to sc2. Your macro ends up slipping slowly unless you're very good and people get frustrated.

  • lol the zerg players micro was awfullll, try this against a mid-high level diamond player, it wont work. their building placement will be way better and its difficult to pull this off.

  • This strategy is not effective if the enemy has blocked entrance with marines, or if they have a couple roaches or mauraders, those units will have you chasing them around wasting time and money. If they beat you to these units, since your behind already in minerals, your better off going straight to voids, and harass from the rear while you expand.

  • I do the 2 gate push ALL THE TIME and I have much sucess.. I can have 4 zealots out at 3:56. I go 9 supply - pylon, 10 supply - first and second gateway as soon as the mineral are available, then 13 supply - second pylon, pump out 4 zealots and 2 more probes... 15 supply 3rd pylon and 2 more zealots. Get your zealots rushing first the defenses, then the drones, then the hatchery, then the spawning pool. Meanwhile, go for stalkers and defenses, and discover your enemies units to counter

  • @AMERICANchristopher Proxy is anything outside of your base. Weather it's building something in your opponents base, hiden tech tree or anything else, outside your base is called "a proxy". :)

  • @AMERICANchristopher The word proxy is just a word for something that has been placed closer to your opponent than usual. The pylon still gives 6 supply and everything, but it allows for a shorter run distance and will be on the front line faster. Hope this helps.

  • @00Dusk Yea, I'd say as long as it's a two player map, it should work fine as you already know where your opponent is.

  • @insenty Its terrible to get over 1000 minerals. Late game its easy to slip on macro when your concentrating on micro but none-the-less still* not ideal.

  • @insenty well it was still "earlygame" 2 gates just wont use up his ressource production and most ppl know that :P so building more then 2 gates is extremly simple^^ still he won and it didnt matter anymore anyways but in case his enemy managed to counter he wouldve been far behind where he actually could ve been

  • I've been doing well with 2 gate pushes, however I usually build both gateways at the proxy pylon and only go to 10 supply of probes which sustains 2 gateways constantly producing zealots pretty well. How do you feel about this type of strat. I know if does leave your base completely open to a counter if they manage to slip a unit or two out into your base. Love your videos btw. Keep em up!

    No no. he builds a gateway in his base because when you see about 10+ probes and a base gateway coming out very slow you will think "economic protoss" that means early expansion. But with that proxy also in his base he would of been cought off gaurd and his 20+ drones will be owned by zealots. If your 2 gate ever gets countered, its because they scouted and responded. If your playing against retards, you will always win but any pro will put up 3 spine crawlers and ur fucked.

  • @cesarerich This isn't getting nerfed. Countering a 2 gate push is so easy, the thing that made this more effective was the proxy and the opponent didn't do a single thing correctly. He should've noticed on his scout there was only 1 gate & he didn't have gas, so he was proxying or FEing. Proper response: cancel the FE, scout own base, pump out roaches and lings, do a timing push which would've also killed the 2gate. The coming nerf is only going to make 6-pools nearly impossible to counter.

  • @jMerliNz yea =( CatZ vs. another pro toss (can't remember his name) on steps of war wasn't even close to holding off the 7 pool rush =P. lol they even had a small chat about it being practically impossible to counter.

  • we want a protoss opener that is no counter :P oh and some good counter 2 mmm (immortals are to expensive and hard to get to)

  • @NiXuid As someone who plays MMM quite often, I can safely say that Void Rush will very consistently beats MMM (at least in lower tier play). Often I focus on Marauders much more than Marines since I find many Protoss players start with a Stalker to counter Reaper Rush, and since Stim Packs make Marauders so devastating versus structures.

    I will point out that if you're playing a decent Terran player, he will scout and see that you're going for Void, so be wary of that.

  • @NiXuid Chargelots into Hight Templars will counter MMM pretty well. Just remember to throw in 1-3 Stalkers for ranged support. I like to play it with 2 gates before the cyber core, then council, followed by Templar Archives. If the Terran goes for mainly marines, put priority on the Templars and that storm upgrade (make sure to warp them in early to build up to 75 energy). If its mostly marauders, get zealot charge first.

  • @NiXuid Go 4-gate opener with wall off. Zealot wall vs Z/P and CB stalker vs T. Has no real hard counter early as long as you scout and prevent cheese.

  • @ramikuret It's not cheesing. Cheesing is an all in strategy. If you had to give this build a description, I would call it "The Anti Zerg FE build." If Force stayed up on his macro, he could have expanded or teched up easily.

  • lol I just had a toss player try this on me. I for some reason put an overlord near my natural so I saw it before he made any zealots and I just went banelings/speedlings. Thank god his micro was terrible so I beat his push and then destroyed the plyon powering the gateways. At that point poor mister toss man decided to go voids but my hydras mopped those up pretty quickly.

  • if I was the zerg player I would have canceled the expand and put up spine crawlers/queens in main this could have possibly been avoided with a little maneuvering but nice job

  • Great vid. I've been learning that quick expansion is a REALLY big gamble and IMO, kinda greedy. What's the point? Unless both players intend to go for the long haul, it's a waste of resources. You have to assume that your opponent is going to be aggressive. So while you waste rec on expansion, they've got units heading in. New base will go down and reinforcements will finish you off.

  • @raith0818 with zerg it is smart to do so you get three more larva and 2 more gas but you have to be prepared to cancel if you see zealots pushing because the protoss player instantly will continue to throw zealots at you. I would agree with you with any other race not the best plan but zerg it is not a bad idea but like i said you shouldnt commit unless you know you can ward the zealots off
