  • JUST CURIOUS is the album cover an LSD tab or a stamp o.0

  • @thecokerjacobd

well it does have the stamp ink in the corner and the zigzag line isn't usually that fine :oo

    i'd say it's just a stamp.

  • 2010. The world was young and full of retards listening to rap (as I wasn't) when i first hears this song over local FM radio then.

Marty's voice captivated me immediatley as did Jormas ringing 12 string.

I loved this band from the get go and still do.

No, I don't have brain damage I just have an immense appreciation for those times and all the people who contributed to the 1960s and I wish i could have been a part of that generation.

  • i love this music<3 and im only 13..

  • Signe Anderson is terrific on this. What a gift she is to the music world. And yes, she still lives in Portland and plans to sing there locally again.

  • @wolfwomon9 I love it that she is still going to sing again. She never got enough credit. I love what she adds to the band.

  • DAMN

Is there anything Marty couldn't do!!

  • Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, and Grateful Dead are the best bands to listen to when your high

  • @LittleFoote420 I've never been high, but I would agree with you there.

  • being born in 53, I, more or less rode the 'coat-tails' of the 60's to some extent. I would never have believed that we would evolve to where we are now...

like a Neil Young title..."Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere"... Only looking back, do I see it for the Renaissance it 'was' ... I enjoyed every minute of it, but had no idea where it was headed

    or as David Crosby wrote...

"It's been a long time comin, it's gonna be a long time gone"...

    fade to black....

  • @hocuspocusfocusable I was born in 52 and grew up in the Bay Area, my only regret was not going to enough concerts in the late 60's. wish I was 15 again...this song is classic & timeless... About getting old, older women don't look so old and the younger ones get younger. I still feel and think like I'm twenty....rock on.

  • Sung by Signe Toly Anderson (not Grace Slick) in Summer, 1966.

  • @steve7138 There was a young lady sitting on the grass next to me at a Rainier Beer Sunbust concert in 1976. She got up to sing with Carl Smith and the Natural Gas Company. Yep, Signe Anderson. Wonder if she still lives in Portland?

  • never again will music be this good

  • wow...haven't heard this in years and years....still amazing........Grace.....you rock!

  • @MsScoutmaster :Grace wasnt the singer onthis album. It was Signe Toly anderson.Grace joined for the next album,Surrealistic pillow & includwd the 2 Great society songs which you would know.

  • Useta have the same album... Great and timeless!

Thanks for bringing it out and sharing!

  • JEFFERSON AIRPLANE LOS MAS GRANDE DELROCK PSICODELICO JUNTO A CHARLY GARCIA Y ROLING STONES SAY NO MORE

  • One the first 'albums' I actually paid for...Had to use headphones so as not to upset my parents who bought me only Dylan and Phil Ochs records. This album, Volunteers, Sgt Pepper, Doors, and Blind Faith gave my generation a brief shining moment that will not happen again while I'm still around.

  • I love you Mishy!! ❤❤

  • Joder que epoca tan chingona!!!

  • .......How delightful.

  • I remember making out with my girlfriend to this album.

  • This Recording is a Timeless Masterpiece.

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • guess you were too. back awaway from yourself .

  • I was born the year this album came out. When I listen to it its strange to think of the band without Grace in it. Signe Anderson was a competent singer, but when Grace came in and matched her voice with Marty and Paul it definitely put them squarely on the map.

  • i've heard skip spence is the drummer on this album, would this be the whole album?

  • @07504201963 Yes and he was shagging Grace at the time too.

  • @oxygen25man Signe Toly Anderson was the female vocalist whilst Skip Spence played drums. Both left the group shortly after the album's release and were replaced by Grace Slick and Spencer Dryden, respectively.

  • @oxygen25man Grace was shagging everyone at that time.

  • @oxygen25man ha! good ole skippy!

  • I daresay I was rockin in my cot to this one. Iguess I'll have been 3 / 4 ish. Real groovey man, far out etc. Listening to all the wckd moogers of the day, may have had an influence on the way I am 2day, hmmmm. Best leave it at that.

An excellent track btw.....Thanx, really appreciated.

  • Wonderful song. I try to look past the drugs of the culture, and think of the music. I spent time in San Francisco, 1967-1974, and later, some of that as a pre-teen.

Very unique music. By far, my favorite of the SF sound, although Moby Grape's first album is great too. Apparently Marty has his own Youtube channel with interesting interviews.

  • morning maniac music.

  • @JeffersonJukebox, one of my favourites of this band. Didn't Grace record this under Pre-Plane band, Great Society? Also, do you have any information about this album, Japanese pressing? Thanks.

  • only song i ever liked by jefferson airplane, even though i was born and raised in sf. maybe i was too young back then to understand this group. but all the drugs connotations and harshness of the other songs turned me off.

  • A song that epitomizes the purest emotion of trippin' out on real love, letting it totally, completely consume you and you don't care 'cause it's just such an incredible mind-bending rush. Marty Balin just lets it all hang out as if he's putting his all and even more into his profession of feelings. They just aren't making tuneage like this anymore...

  • I love Jack Cassidy's Bass on this. Then of course there's marty balin, that guy was awesome with signe toly Anderson.

  • Does this song take me back! Getting ready for school and listening to it on WABC am radio with Herb Oscar Anderson. Polka dot shirts, bell bottoms and nehru jackets, holy cow!

  • @dsi220

H O A all the way! AM ruled the day back then.

  • Bless It's Pointed Little Secret :-D

  • Yeah, when I start feeling how strong my love is for you, knowing I'll be empty wanting your love like I do.

  • Talk about nostalgia here! Definitely 'happy music' here :)

  • Signe Anderson rocks

  • its no secret how strong my love is for you ♫ I love u yes i love u ♫

  • @verybadsuzy ...YEAH!!!

  • written for but never performed by Otis Redding

  • Such a great Song !! i love jefferson airplane !!

  • God Bless.

  • HYMN

  • Best Airplane album for me

    Classic SF Psych

  • Rolon¡¡

  • In response to IaSg14: So... you want an Airplane song that is technically difficult with some serious finger- pickin'? Check out Embryonic Journey off of Surrealistic Pillow. It's an acoustic solo but Jorma Kaukonen really impresses with his technical ability. Think of Yes' " Mood for a Day" which is also a beautiful guitar solo of the same style. If you can play either one of these songs with proficiency, then you are a very good player indeed! Good luck, but "Freebird" it ain't.

  • I like this song, I still remember making out with my first girlfriend with this album playing =-)

  • I need help finding a Jefferson Airplane song and I figured fans of the band on a Youtube video could maybe help me out. I don't know if one exists but have they ever done a song with REALLY difficult or consistently tricky guitar through it. For difficulty, I'd say "Free Bird" solo difficult.

If anyone can direct me to a song like that then I'll be truly grateful. Thanks.

  • marty= the best.

  • The middle section rocks

  • Thanks Marty,great song!!

  • Marty wrote and sang real love songs.

    Direct. A great performance.

Another way to tell your honey...

    "I love you." ..

"As I get older..." he was 26!!

    King Suji

  • Real harmony and a marty balin classic!

  • The first time I heard this album ....my mind took off !!!!!!!!!

  • I'll shout it from the slopes of Mount Tamalpais!

  • Comment removed

  • 1966. The world was young and full of energy (as was I) when I first heard this song over local SF AM radio then.

Marty's voice captivated me immediately as did Jorma's ringing 12 string.

I loved this band right from the get go and still do.

    Brain damage I guess.... ;-)

  • pyrophore I was just thinking the same thing. I'd heard them do it live but when it came out the local SF AM it was a rush & the first of our new SF sound to be on the radio & before all the other people came to SF when it was still local & summer of 1966 was the real SF Summer of Love.

    Jefferson Airplane Loves You.

  • I would of loved to have been in SF in '67 and witnessed the "Summer of Love".(and I was just 2 hours away!) but I was just to young.

  • It was magic. Everybody really believed in what was happening. This very first Airplane long player was THE signature sound. The San Francisco SOUND. Everything else traced its kool back to THIS album.

The "Jefferson Airplane Takes Off" was orders of magnitude above EVERYTHING that followed or went before

  • @pyrophore : just know that so many people born after this time agree with you! I was born in '66 and wish I was old enough to have realized this special time you lived through.

  • @pyrophore In the days when music was fantastic!

  • @pyrophore No, the brain damage is the belief that we can't have what Jefferson Airplane sang about. Keep believing.

  • @pyrophore Gadl;y surrended my brain to that album

  • @pyrophore I was there, and this is a Classic JA number. Jack Cassidy's Bass was awesome.

  • @calwaite There undboubtedly was music made at that time, even by JA themselves, that did "suck" as you say. Course it's all subjective and really has very little to do with drugs. As Louie Armstrong once said; 'There are two kinds of music; good and bad." For me, I enjoy music from Link Wray to Rachmaninoff, with plenty of JA in there, drug free or not.

  • @pyrophore rock groups that have more than one songwriter in the group like the JA and the moody blues are more interesting if you think its sucky than listen to perry como

  • this song is so good, jefferson airplane is a great band

  • MY FAVE BY J.A. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Marty's voice gives me chills here. How did we find ourselves in this strange, distant 2008?

  • marty writes a song for otis redding - wouldn't have been great if he'd lived to do it?

  • its no secret that my switch flips are mobb

  • Sweet song! Memories for daze and daze!!! Thank you

  • I was SOOOO in love with my very first boyfriend when this song came out. Listening to it again brought back SO many great memories !!!
