@bigboi91289 For each rank of Expertise, the Energy cost of all of your attacks, Rituals, touch skills and Ranger skills are decreased by 4%. Several skills, especially those related to Energy costs and skill recharge times, become more effective with higher Expertise. Rituals being spirits, ranger spirits, rit spirits w/e, touch skills including necro blood (touch ranger). So no its a bit more versatile than just ranger skills but only a ranger can benefit from it
@BogusDudeGW other classes benefit in different ways with this build. A Rit has higher level spirits, more HP and armour. A Necro reaps energy back through soul reaping as foes die. An ele has highest base energy to start with but suffers long regen times inbetween fights etc

@BogusDudeGW smite run with a warrior is far faster than the spirit run, but ecto drop is not equally satisfaying. sometimes i cant decide which one to do but i do the smite run more anyways.

@woefpoef and then they just run around your tanks and take shadowstrong straight out. I set my tanks against them so as to create a wall to block them getting past to the weaker spirits
@woefpoef think you'll find they do, your spirits are different levels with different AL/HP which the Aatxe AI are more than aware of.

@BogusDudeGW Bro, I've soloed the UW many times with SoS and I've never encountered this problem. As a matter of fact, I see you have to replenish spirits a lot against aatxes, whereas with my strategy, usually only one spirit dies, if any at all. Fact is, Shadowsong halves their combined DPS while up, in other words, you should protect it at any cost. Even if they will target the Shadowsong eventually like you claim, it will have done most of its job by then.
@woefpoef you seem to be talking the talk on other peoples vids alot, why not just get your ranger out and make your own videos to show how it should be done? You already have gaming vids so why not? And more to the point why are you watching and commenting on all these year old SoS vids when your already pro?

@YoepieNL Myth...Ectos are not affected in any way whatsoever by NM/HM. Meaning in NM you a) have much greater survivability and b) farm more ectos in less time. If your referring to general drops, who cares, there are much better HM farms than UW for random loot.
If doing 2 man then you might aswell go HM, but as far as solo is concerned, NM is the best option, HM is little more than a waste of time and effort for little extra reward!!

im not the thread maker, but i dont see why not. the energy comsumtion would be higher so you might need a consumable to boost that, and not going into the underworld isnt an issue, he points out pop ups and that jazz just be careful, and its normal mode
there really isn't much point to going hm tbh. ecto drop rates are the same for nm/hm. If solo your just making the farm alot harder and slower by going hm. Some builds benefit from going hm, this isn't one of them. If your in a 2 or 3 man team then fair enough might aswell go hm. But solo, going hm has no logic to it, i'll earn more money faster in nm than you will in hm.

You'll spend alot more time inbetween fights waiting for regen than a ranger. Not to mention ranger has much better armour.
Ele can run this but i think your alone if you think ele is "better"
80 energy is better than 25 because when you create all ghosts it will cost you about 35 energy which means you got 45 more mana to cast armor, aura and hex.
clearly says above that i have 57 which is enough, i then get another 10 while i'm using cons although they're not needed. So i have 67 energy in the video.
I'm sure you can handle clearing the chamber just aswell, not better.
But when in a long drawn out fight against 9 mindblades or 5 smites you will struggle more in the long run. Not to mention your squishy armour. And whereas i can pretty much flow from 1 group to the next you will need regen time
and i fear your not getting how expertise works, the spirits cost you 35e they cost me about 18. The spirits alone are no problem for a ranger to maintain 100%, only excessive spamming of painful bond will give him problems, and that would be the same for any char
btw i'm not trying to discourage you from trying this build out on your ele. If thats your favourite char then go for it. i'm just trying to make you understand why this works well for a ranger and suggesting you may need to be a little bit more careful. I'll probably be trying it out on a few dif chars myself when i get the chance
Is this build on PvX wiki or is it your own build? cuz its awsome. Btw how long does it take you to complete the whole UW run i.e chamber, smites and planes? cheers.
i was given it by a guildie, believe it originates from guru, doubt its on wiki yet, don't know, would be a test build if it is i would have thought. Has been tweaked by the "community" trial and error.
Never took much notice of times but your looking at a couple of hours to do all 3, planes has the best ecto drop rate by far though
the groups with 3 Aatexes i usually have to kill them in 2 tries. And when i get to the dryders. lol, i get freaking owned. Don't see how you killed them so easy.
The build is actually really fun. Works great. But it's really easy for them to kill the Shadow song then come after you XD. I bet a Duo team would be awesome. I bet i could get one of my friends to come do this with me, she loves rits.

No need to spread spirits against aatxes seeing that they don't have AoE. All you need to do is put Shadowsong in the back

the rangers attribute expertise will reduce the energy cost of the rituals by 48% at 12.
The whole point of this game and the secondary profession is to make your characters diverse instead of 1 dimensional like other games ie WoW
Besides that not everyone has a Rit or just prefers their ranger or a challenge.
Why not just say, why not just use a perma sin?
If your "biased against these kind of builds" then your loosing the plot of what gw's is about imo. Think outside of the box
