A more logical approach to understanding how the moon IS a spaceship, is by understanding that it is impossible for the same side of the moon to consistently face the Earth. If it was not under some control by intelligent forces, it would spin, as all natural satellites spin. Think about it. The face in the moon ALWAYS faces Earth. That is beyond the laws of physics. Can't happen on it's own. Therefore: The moon is a spaceship!

Long ago when the Moon spun much faster, the Moon's tidal bulge preceded the Earth-Moon line because the Moon couldn't "snap back" its bulges quickly enough to keep its bulges in line with Earth. The rotation swept the bulge beyond the Earth-Moon line. This out-of-line bulge caused a torque, slowing the Moon spin, like a wrench tightening a nut.

@ChatDEau69 When the Moon's spin slowed enough to match its orbital rate, then the bulge always faced Earth, the bulge was in line with Earth, and the torque disappeared. That's why the Moon rotates at the same rate as it orbits and we always see the same side of the Moon. Hope this helps. :-)

How does gravity work? Every portion of mass has its own gravity and it pulls in all directions. In any larger mass, gravity will sum to zero gforce at 3 points on any given space orb diameter. One at the very center of the greater mass and twice between the inner and outer surfaces. Somewhere under "ground surface" the gforces will sum to zero about half way between the inner and outer surfaces. How simple is that?

Lateral gravity would act like surface tension and would match the vertical forces defining the position of the outer surface. Gravity is unique in terms of hollow planets, moons, and suns. It is simply because it is multidirectional on the surface and bi directional from the half way through (zero sum) point.
