don't put gold fish with betta cause bettas like their temp at 76 degrees and gold fish like it at 60 degrees.so the warm temp will make your gold fish very sick and will die.......
just saying you cant keep a goldfish and a betta fish together because the goldfish pees every thirty seconds which spreads ammonia and it will kill your betta.
Goldfish can survive temperatures well into the 80s. And fish will adapt to their surroundings. As long as you have adequate filtration and keep the tank clean they can both live together. I keep my tank at about 76 degrees, I have two orandas and a half moon betta in a 30 gallon tank and they have been doing just fine for the last several years.
@msmadijoh i agree, and even though betta are fighting fish, they will be peaceful once you buy it from the store and make sure it doesnt starve, starvation is the key for a betta's agreession :)
How do you feed them? Bettas have to have Betta foood, and goldifish need goldfish food? Reply soon, im thinking of adding my crowntail with my oranda! But i just need to know how to feed them.
@horselove122 if your betta isn't picky you can feed it a mix of tropical/ flakes/betta food and goldfish flakes(with the goldfish!) If it is picky feed it the betta food and the goldfish will eat it with it(goldfish aren't picky)
Ok im so shocked. i didnt know we had so many experts on fish. hmm it sounds to me that all i am reading is repeated words that you all read or heard from somebody else. But think about this for a second. when you buy betta fish are they in a tank with a certain temp. No they are in a bowl that can be cold if it wants to be. Meaning they can survive without a certain temp different from goldfish. Keeping them together is not a problem as long as he has a good filter, and a algae eater.
Actually, bettas need water temperature to be between 76-80 degrees. The only proper way to do that is with a heater. I'm glad the poster of this video took the betta out. Goldfish produce waaaay too much poo to be with many other fish, especially bettas.

i dont want to sound rood but a betta is a tropical fish and a goldfish is a coldwater fish they are not compatable coz of the water tempreture they both need
@MrGman0909 That is so not right. Goldfish actually do better at a higher temperature as long as you have enough oxygen going into the tank. The only reason they suggest lower temps is because goldfish use up a ton of oxygen and the hotter the water, the less oxygen. So put an airstone in there and it's fine.
why are u mixing betta and goldfish?

what is the temperature of ur aquarium?
RAndomJboy 3 months ago
@nemo those numbers don't make any sense...
10 gallons per goldfish.
Goldfish can adapt to any temperature. They are extremely hardy fish.
Bettas can live in groups and with other fish.

Uhmm you need to learn some shit. Goldfish are coldwater and bettas are very tropical. Also, i wouldn't keep 2 comets in a tank smaller than 90g...
