It's not that's they're particularly interesting, just like your 'comedy' videos aren't particularly funny (read; not funny at all). I just like watching them to see you make a fool of yourself, then making fun of you afterwards- in a similar way you'd watch a monkey in the zoo or the kind of retards who always end up auditioning for big brother. I suppose in that way, it does at least succeed as mildly entertaining, even if it is at the lowest level imaginable.
I liked the part on oneself being himself, and on your high feeling of honesty and trueness in your own videos (i.e. that you would shoot again and again until it's honest enough and you're comfortable with it). This is pretty much what it takes to make someone popular anywhere "if" popularity is the issue. Indeed, people have incredible ability to tell if someone is being himself, and most of the time, they are able to appreciate someone's spontaneous acts even when they aren't so conventional.
Moreover, I loved the part on that the more popular you become the less you become able to maintain your high feel of honesty and trueness, and that at the end you reach an equilibrium. I know that you said you aren't up to making conclusions (which's a great attitude sometimes) but I'll do it for you: People who are that honest are basically not ready nor up to the amount of popularity they sometimes seem to think they want or look after. People are naturally social creatures, so of course the ones who aren't totally wrapped up in themselves would have a natural interest in listening to someone talk about their day-to-day. Also, alot of your viewers may have never experienced anyone from your part of the world in real life, thus making you and your vlogs that much more interesting and "exotic". Plus, almost every modern culture in almost every part of the world has the "sit-and-watch" mentality when it comes to anything on video.

Youtube was always meant to evolve but the beauty of it was that there was an inherent sincerity about it. Take that away and it is no different from your garden variety broadcast television. All we subscribers ask of the subscribees is that they give us something real.
All i can say is I completely agree...I started doing this because I had too much free time and I was bored but when people actrually stated watching and subbscribing I couldn't turn away from all the crazy people and adventure like vlogs here...

I host a blog.. the original text type... and it's great, and there's a whole blogging community out there... I DO sometimes watch vlogs, but not that often, I'd rather watch videos that have, you know, effort in them... but vlogs, in the actual sense of the word? Certain people appeal to me more than others.. you know what I mean..
And youtube isn't what's changing... the people are.. and how it evolves is in our hands at the end of day.. eh? :)

I really don't like blogs that much. Some are quite boring, in my humble opinion. I prefer seeing creative videos. I like to see the effort put forth in vids. Blogging, uh, anyone can do that and that doesn't let anyone stand out...same old, same old. So, creative vids keep my attention more.

I agree. Youtube has become a bit of a popularity contest these days. I think youtube should be more about communication among all the people on youtube, sharing ideas and opinions and stuff. I like video blogs when people are more honest and real. Keep vlogging. :)

bryony, i have to admit i have seen some big time YT'ers become massive cunts due to popularity. I hope you don't go that route.
I do have to admit though if u get the chance to make money that will allow u to do what u want in life. I say do it. Who gives a fuck if people cannot deal/feel good for you pursuing ur goals.
I do think that YT has become like DAYS OF OUR LIVES with all the drama between mainstream YT'ers. People need to grow up and stop worrying about online drama!

Youtube was always meant to evolve but the beauty of it was that there was an inherent sincerity about it. Take that away and it is no different from your garden variety broadcast television. All we subscribers ask of the subscribees is that they give us something real.

All i can say is I completely agree...I started doing this because I had too much free time and I was bored but when people actrually stated watching and subbscribing I couldn't turn away from all the crazy people and adventure like vlogs here...

i think that the most honest part of this video was when you lost your train of thought.
i was able to relate, because that's all i ever do. ..and it made me laugh.lol
& the newer vloggers just edit it out, and in a way it takes away from the honesty and realness of the video.
