This doesn't settle well with me. We go from confirmimg Red John's death to simply being told he's still alive.

What happens if Jane shoots another supposedly true Red John? How can we ever be sure a Red John is the real Red John? And considering what Timothy Carter speaking as Red Johh said, "It is time to quit.", is it even possible for Jane to get a chance to catch Red John?

At this point, re-introducing Red John doesn't seem like a very wise move by the author.

I dont get it. In the court Patrick says that Timothy Carter was Red John. In fact, Carter told Jane that some people called him Red John in the last season. He even described his wife and daughter to him.

So this twist of RJ being alive doesnt make any sense.

@rforracing Are you stupid, or did you just not even watch the episode properly? Jane clearly states that he feels guilty for DECIEVING THE JURY, he was lying to them to get off the murder charge. Jane must've realised earlier in the episode that it wasn't red john, and my bet is that it was as soon as he heard about the gun and phone.

As for him describing Janes Wife and Daughters scent - Ever heard of word of mouth?

@dcj28 Huh? Timothy Carter was the one who killed Jane's wife and daughter thats why Jane shot him. Word of mouth doesnt matter because Carter admitted to killing them if you had watched season 3 finale. Now if he was RJ or not, thats a different issue.

What you think after all these years the writers made it so that it wasn't RJ who killed janes family but Timothy Carter all along? Wow. Jane had been set up by Red John, hence why Jane says going to prison would've been 'a victory for Red John.'

red john is still alive! what a great ending for this episode! i am so happy that there will be red john episodes in the future. the season finale will be awesome!
