In utterly divine fashion, Vinogradov modulates from optimism, despair and eventually, tragedy. In this song, with its wistful poetic beauty, Vinogradov radiant timbre gives voice to the tender emotions that permeate the atmos- phere! The pace of the millwheel with its complex pattern of gears beautifully supports the mood!

I agree with you Kievest.  I think Vinogradov's boyish, unguarded sincerity is completely disarming. His Schöne Müllerin is as beautiful as Aksel Schiøtz's, and just as sad.
