  • Oops I'm on the wrong account

  • I am in 7th grade and I have been playing trombone for 1 year and I have braces on and I can play quadruple low f to double high a flat.

  • I can hit double low F to Double high F with the same mouthpiece. I am a freshman in high school.

  • LOL EVERYBODY I'M WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY WORSE THAN THIS GUY ON TROMBONE WITH RANGE AND MAYBE EVERYTHING ELSE BUT IF YOU ALL WATCH MY VIDEOS AND YES CALRONE IS THE CHANNEL AND PRESS LIKE FOR ALL OF THEM I PROMISE I'LL GET LESSONS AND STOP PUTTING CRAP ON HERE.

  • double Bb is usually the highest you need

  • I have to say, that is a pretty clear high F. Great job - now start from there and slur down and you'll eventually start getting that range into your real range

  • girl or boy......? if its a boy, then thats a super fail

  • i can easily hit an octave above that, though its ridiculously soft

  • As to this range argument everyone is having, people pay more for trombone players who can support and play low with a full sound.

  • you are all fuck heads

  • @wilm923 LOL YOU ARE A SOPPY TWAT

  • dude i can play that high. actually, i can play higher. Of course, these arent real notes lol.

  • lol im 14 been playing trombone for a year and a half and i can play pedal B flat and that super F

  • Awesome man. That's a bass yeah? I play tenor, the highest I can play is that F!

  • Grr... I only can go up to the A natural above the staff currently (or 3rd octave based on the lowest A in the staff). I can hit the Bb, but it's fuzzy... and I won't count it until it sounds natural. :/

  • Yah when my friends have me play that high and i'm in the 7th grade they tell me its not an acctual not but idk wtf there talking about this guys just squeked his ass off and its a note in fact i think thats the 2nd high f

  • WHAT NOW?

  • lol... i cant even play a high f. My highest note is a high e flat :(. FML

  • AHAHAHA! How'd you do that lmao!

  • its a squeak not a note -____-

  • Everybody in my section can get high F. DOnt waste ppls time

  • ...you're the one looking up videos of high notes......you wasted your own time

  • owned :p

  • @TimGBone hahahaha you just owned that douchebag

  • i know 4 octaves of b flat

  • Please tell me that you're a .547+ bass bore o.o on a Baritone I can reach the Bb above that. My .500 Bore Trombone, I can reach 9 ledger line D, your note sounds like the Super F (7 ledger lines) and High Bb (4 ledger lines)

  • lol yeah this is a .547 bore.

  • @gtradn Hey I have a question, is a 4 ledger Bflat and a 4 ledger C good for an eighth grader?

  • I would have to say it's around there, even though for middle school music (Grades 2 - 3.5) you probably won't need anything above a F or a G. But you would always want to have as much notes in your arsenal as possible, right now I'm building my low range, because I want to switch to Bass. But ya, that's a decent range for your grade, just work on it? :D

  • @gtradn Alright thnx

  • @gtradn oh and were also playing a grade 4 song

  • @gtradn dude, the note he hit was above 9 ledger lines lol. the second f he hit was like, a giga f.

  • TheYeti2005, You can't just say let your lips do the work..

  • you should never say let your lips do the work. range is based on how well you can control your air speed

  • It is also based on resistance between your lips and the mouthpiece, meaning you have to have a strong embouchure.

  • i agree

  • i can only hit a C but i can almost hit the F if i try really really hard

  • Nice shift into the upper register! And nice way to collapse the chest in, lots of tension!

You're probably a good player, but this stuff will hinder you in the long run. Your range is only what's useable without that kind of change.

  • i swear you're such a nerd. do you go to music school or something?

  • I go to a university for music, yes.

I'm serious about the advice, too- do you consider everyone with knowledge to be a nerd?

  • not really. but anyways good advice. is it possible to play that high without making your lips ridiculously tight.

  • You still have to have your lips tight- but not in this sense, which is a very tense tight. The lips still have to be loose enough to buzz, however little. There are several trombone players that can play a double Bb and beyond with little effort.

  • damn it takes me alot of effort to hit a D. for some reason every time i try to play the Bb i usually hit the C or the Ab

  • Do you get lessons?

  • yes i do but my teacher doesnt think i can handle them yet.

  • No worries, it takes time to get range. I can hit up to F more easily than that stupid D, too. Just keep doing those range exercises!

  • yeh i should try range exercises if it makes me look like less of an idiot when i go for a high note.

  • You'll increase range, too.

  • what exercises would you suggest?

  • Any of the ones in my video, I use all of them sometimes.

  • wow my hightst note is a duble high Ab

  • whats the point of such a high note.

  • Guys you re all so ....i dont know how to say,but high register doesnt mean nothing,...if you can play in register from low b and to the es or high thats enough, who will listen that ugly sreaming, for sreaming we use trumpet not trombone, loooooooooollllll

  • While that's true, it's still good to develop range to feel more comfortable in the normal playing range.

  • THANK YOU! Haha

  • Np. I'm trying to develop my high register too. Yesterday I sqeaked out a few of those really high F's but I really felt it today. I play on a .547 Bach 42 BO using a Bach 5G mouthpiece.

  • @JubbaDaTrombone agreed

  • @davidkajic I think I just became stupid from reading your comment, thanks for adding to the list of stupid people on youtube

  • @davidkajic Good point there, I've been playing for nearly 20 years now and can hit the Super Bb's in 6th and possible 7th register but once you get up in this range your notes lose tone clarity, probably the reason why no music is written in this register as it not only almost blows a blood vessel of the player. But it is not nice to hear.

Use of this during warm up and tone building is excellent, it has it's uses when showing Multiphonics technique too. It's only my opinion though.

  • wow that's insane mate! You should get into jazz stuff with a range like that!

  • CRAZY. I wish my tone was that good.

  • Whoops, meant to put "range" instead of tone, lol.

  • dude i hate 6 1/2 Als. I prefer 5Gs.

  • Wow youre good XD

  • My highest note on trombone is a triple F (like the one that you played) on a 6.5AL mouthpiece and .525 bore...and I'm 14 years old. Is that ok?

  • Haha yeah that's good, keep it up. I used a 6.5 A and my horn is .547 bore btw. That's awesome for 14 years old!

  • Wow that is. . . high are you in a marching band?

  • Yup :)

  • Cool. I need to start renting my own trombone from Amro Music store.

  • okay just kidding about that last question.

  • that's pretty crazy.

kinda useless, though. cause it sounds like poop.

but i guess that means you can play other high notes better and longer and all that.

which is more than i can say for myself.

    what note was that anyway?

  • impressive, but can you maintain it?

  • Also, I personally wouldn't consider it my range if you can't play up to it on demand (or most of the time) while in rhythm passages.

For instance: I can usually play up to a Double D but when it comes to the E, F, and G, I have much more trouble and it usually doesn't sound that great. (the F is easier than the rest because it's in first)

The highest note I have played (With tone) is the Triple D area but it was on a very lucky day and I cannot do that regularly

  • It's a squeak today and a note tomorrow!...... Well maybe not tomorrow, but 30 years from now if you keep it up!

I realized last year that squeaks are pointless if you can't play them with music. Play a solo two octaves up or something and I will be impressed.

For now though, I'll say that what you just did has been done 10,000 times.

You squeaked quite high and held it, for that I am impressed.

    Keep it up mayne!

  • you are squeezzing them out. and the notes themselves don't have any tone whatsoever. a high is worthless with out tone quality. if you cant tounge the note eather dont bother playing it.

  • nice i . my highest note is the b flat over that f u played

  • This guy is great! I can only hit a Three Octive D on my 6 1/2 ALS, and thats with luck and an hours worth of warm-up

  • Thanks man!

  • Okay :) Thanks for the wonderful advice!

  • no you get a life fat man

  • Thats not supposed to be physically possible!!!! lol nice one timmy!!!

  • Lol thanks Nate!

  • i used to be able to do that, but i cant now because I'm to working on stuff that MATTERS :D

  • to both of you:

that was only a dub f. i can do a trip b-flat. so dont tell me thats impossible.

my f is great, my g is good, my a is an a and my b-flat is about like that last f he played.

and hey, try using a schilke 51B. its a lot smaller, and if you can do a dub f on 6 1/2AL, then with a 51B, youll be doing amazing things. i can hit about a d on my AL, so try it if you can!

  • Thanks dude, I'll have to look into that! :)

  • hey man i was just playin around. i know this kid, he goes to my school. i've seen him do it before. it's pretty astonishing, to say the least.

  • oh well. it is sweet. i mean, how old is he? im 15 and i can play my trip b-flat, granted only with the right mouthpiece..but if hes really any younger than me...i couldnt play above a d for about a year. and i just got it the other day. so hey, if hes younger, then hes gonna be great someday.

  • What size mouthpiece is that sir?

  • It's a Bach 6 1/2 A. It's actually kinda big.

  • i use a 6 1/2 a as well but its not bach i dont even know what it is. all it says is king 6 1/2

  • How the hell lol. I can only get top Bb which is Bb5 I think

  • =0 how do you do that??????????????????????

  • Lol, I just practice :)
