I see remarks about Zappa's lyrics. You can't have one without the other. The way people speak when it comes to phrasing, is how his music is written. @JayGatsbyOdysseus While I can see not getting Frank Zappa for his lyrics (I would agree that most of them are crap), he has some of the greatest musical pieces ever written for a rock band. He has true greatness in his compositions as far as instrumental pieces go. Check out Son of Mr. Green Genes and Willie the Pimp off of Hot Rats, or Chunga's Revenge, Transylvania Boogie, or The Nancy and Mary Music off of Chunga's Revenge. Listen particularly to the guitar and rythym sections.

The first album I ever owned was Hot Rats. Stll not sure if it was because I liked it so much as my parents hated it. Either way I was hooked and have at some time owned most of his albums. Compopser second to none and possibly the greatest social commentator/lampooner on modern life and "The American Way". I bet he's still pissing himself laughing. History will verify his genius.
