Since the top 5 percent of the income earners pay 60 percent of the income taxes while the bottom 50 percent pay 3 percent of the income taxes, a tax cut would have a minimal effect on people paying a minimal amount of taxes and a maximal effect on people paying a lot of taxes. Simple math.
Actually your numbers are right but the fact that there would be little effect if the bottom 50% get a tax cut is wrong. It induces large amounts of consumer confindence and investment from these low income brackets thus creating business. The top income brackets will feel a minimal effect. A 3% increase from 36 to 39% will hardly scare wealthy people making more than $200,000. Thats the idea behind. The reason the top 5% pay so much aswell is because they own that much.
I think everyone should get a tax break. The poor, middle class and rich should all get tax breaks. The idea that a couple making
$200k / year is rich is incorrect and increased taxes hurt families. In California, an average house is nearly $500k. Payments can range from 3k - 4k / month. A couple making 200k has nearly half their income taken away by taxes already, and since a couple making this much probably has massive educational debts, there is a lot less left over than you would think.
I just want to say that the idea of everyone getting a tax break is a nice one but it just doenst work that way. And as a side not, California isnt exactly a reference for the housing market considering the californian economy is equal to that of a wealthy nation. But the idea that increasing taxes by 3% for those making 200k + is harmfull is ridiculous. that means your making $16,666+/month. Considering the median US income is $50,233.00/year or $4186/month. The thing is, before Abortion was legalized, women had them anyway. They'd either force a miscarriage or go see a Doctor/Quack who'd perform sometimes a botched procedure to terminate the pregnancy. Many women wound up dying this way, obviously taking the fetus with them. Occasionally, women would simply commit suicide rather than face the shame and scandal of having a child. I don't think there was ever truly a "good ol' days", Like we see in old movies and novels.

The Bush tax cuts contained tax cuts for every tax bracket. Since the top 5 percent of the income earners pay 60 percent of the income taxes while the bottom 50 percent pay 3 percent of the income taxes, a tax cut would have a minimal effect on people paying a minimal amount of taxes and a maximal effect on people paying a lot of taxes. Simple math.

It induces large amounts of consumer confindence and investment from these low income brackets thus creating business. The top income brackets will feel a minimal effect. A 3% increase from 36 to 39% will hardly scare wealthy people making more than $200,000. Thats the idea behind. The reason the top 5% pay so much aswell is because they own that much.

I think everyone should get a tax break. The poor, middle class and rich should all get tax breaks. The idea that a couple making
$200k / year is rich is incorrect and increased taxes hurt families. In California, an average house is nearly $500k. Payments can range from 3k - 4k / month. A couple making 200k has nearly half their income taken away by taxes already, and since a couple making this much probably has massive educational debts, there is a lot less left over than you would think.

I think if the focus is shifting to Palin as a mother we need to talk about Obama as a father. How good a father is he when he spends so much time on the campaign. Where are the girls? What about Mrs. Obama. I think she is campaigning very hard too...so what are they doing with the girls. Are they parentless currently? If Obama's girls were pregnant he wouldn't want them, in his words, to be "punished" with a baby. What kind of parent is that who wouldn't love his own daughter's child.

Hillary deserves a lot of credit for sticking to her beliefs and taking the high road on the infant born alive act. The fact is though that Palin is in the campaign for Vice President. Most Christians, real Christians who believe in respect for life are going to favor Palin over Hillary when comparing the two. Palin gave Hillary credit at the Republican National Convention as Hillary deserves for all the work she has done trying to make America a better place whether we agree with her or not.

Hillary voted to protect infants born alive who were intended to be aborted but managed to survive. I agree with you. But the republicans have redefined elite to mean "left-winger living in NY or SF." Maybe we can call it "rural-correctness" or something. The point is, now we have to use other words so that people that can only discuss issues based on slogans -- like Sean Hannity -- can't dodge issues by shouting about left wing elitism.
But elite can also mean the economic elite. And those people -- who are more often than not republicans -- also suck. Elite is a hard word to use these days

Hillary Higgins, of Independent Women's Voices feels that McCain's economic program would work better than Obama's. She points out that corporations create wealth, not the government. We can't expect to keep pulling money out of corporations to give the government to hand out to everyone and have corporations be able to expand and create more jobs.

Second, he has also shown that government and business have never been entirely separate throughout US history. It's not an either/or question: either government of business. Nor is Obama trying to stop corporate earnings.
Beyond that, you misunderstand the current econ crisis. The govt is giving to corps because CORPS screwed up bad. The corps are taxing us, not the other way around.

Some of you Democrats should actually read up on Sarah Palin before you even speak. Has she made mistakes and questionable things? Sure she has. Has she learned from them? I think so. She is known as a reformer. She cleaned up the corruption in her state and is known to take on her own party to get things done.

No, that's really off base. Klan-style hatred is what you're seeing when people call for Obama's assassination at McCain rallies. This anger is literally linked historically to the klan.
Disliking Palin has no real parallel with the klan. The comparison is really misguided. McCain and Palin are using the southern strategy, though, and that's about racism.
Finally, comparing Hillary and Palin in terms of intelligence and perfomance is hilarious. No pun intended.
