Me too. I have a lot of friends in Pittsburgh, and listening to them now is hilarious. EVERYONE in that town HATED Jagr...until Hossa left and he's the best winger on the market. Now they're all dying for Jagr to sign. They are in real trouble if they don't replace their wingers.

For us, adding Hossa is really nice. 26 points in the playoffs. Crosby would have had way less than 27 if Hossa wasn't on his line. Definitely going to be interesting to see what the Pens do to stop the bleeding.

Not so much hate for the org. It really hasn't done much at all. It's not hard to build a contender with 5 or 6 top 10 draft picks on your roster.

All the fair weather Pens fans annoy me. Where were those people 5 years ago when the team needed them most, ya know? I respect true fans but the bandwagon over there is enormous. I don't know any Steeler fans who stopped caring about the team when Maddox was QB, but the Pens have a few bad years and almost get sold.

I lived near Pgh til I was about 5. Like every other western PA kid, I was a Steeler fan by by birth. We moved out to the midwest before anyone in the Burgh cared too much about the Pens, so I discovered hockey on my own out there. The closest NHL team was the Wings and I've been a fan since. We moved back to PA when I was 13, and I lived in Pgh until I graduated college. I've gotten to see the Pens' bandwagon load and unload a few times, and I wonder where the Steeler-like loyalty is.

As a Penguin fan my whole life I have nothing but respect for the Redwings players and organization. They schooled Pittsburgh on how to win in the finals and they said all the right things in their interviews. With that said, I have never dealt with such a classless fanbase in the NHL as Detroit. You're right. Wanna know why? Because the overwhelming majority of their team consists of late-round draft picks. The core of this past years' penguins team are 1st rounders, most of whom are on rookie contracts.  The Wings didn't fall apart overnight because they weren't built overnight. It took a long time, not 4 years of high picks.

I don't understand why the Pens didn't pursue someone who had a reasonable shot at replacing Hossa (Naslund, Selanne, Prospal or even Huselius)and sign him to a multi-year deal. They are going to be in the same boat next year. Satan, Fedotenko, Sykora, Sydor, Gill, Scuderi are all UFAs. Staal becomes an RFA, so expect the Pens to have to pay dearly to keep him. With all that $ tied up in Crosby, Malkin and Fleury, you have to wonder how they'll be able to have a strong supporting cast.
