@MultiHornguy That's the horn on 3573 that you hear, not the plow. The horn on the Russell plow is a way out of tune single note Leslie A-200. (Ex-Conrail snowplow). The plow still goes good otherwise.
@robertgift Thanks. Yes, Pan Am Rail is directly related to the former Airline. They run trains now instead of planes. More profitable. Pan Am bought out Guilford Rail System before they became Pan Am. There's still tons of their Engines, & rolling stock still painted as Guilford equipment.
Hey, Thanks. Sorry there wasn't more video of the plow pushing snow. They were out clearing rhe sidings of slush, before it froze to the rails as ice that night. It was warm that afternoon, & they had an important freight run the next day, so the rails had to be completely clean for the trip. Icy rails are no fun to haul freight on.
Yeah, that's an early model Russel plow made out of wood mostly. It's alot like the one in this video, only shorter in length, & height. That plow was mostly used when steam power was the only thing hauling trains around. It needs a bit of work now. I hope they can fix it up sometime soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Yep, that's the Maine Eastern RR employees sense of humor showing itself. LOL. I think Adam, or Mike might had something to do with that....(?) They probably wouldn't admit it though, because that would kinda show their age. Haha.
I just thought of something. When the engineer blows his horn, The poor guys in the plow get the FULL effect of it! They are leval with the top of the locomotive!!
Looks good. That's how to get 20 year old technology into todays internet. Thanks for giving me a means to test it out. I haven't heard a good Maine accent in awhile.
No, Thank you sir! I changed the music, & whistle (again) LOL. That was Jerry with the heavy Maine Accent. He's the "yard boss" down on this end of the branch.
Yeah, I have to agree too. That's an MLW 420W which was built by Montreal Locomotive Works in the late 60's & early 70's. Sister Canadian company to Alco. Yeah, Maine Eastern currently has possession of it. Morristown & Erie is the parent company though. Thanks for watching this man.
Thanks Greg! The beta testing is done for the intro, so I figured I'd test it out on here using the new snowplow footage I took 2 weeks ago. Glad you approve.

Enjoying your videos GP. Thank you.
"Pan Am" related to the former airline company?
Difficult to see/read the images on the intro due to the jerky movements across the screen.

I think it is. Maybe a P-3 with a variable orifice tune. Not 100% on that though. Thanks.

Love the intro! Good job, Amiduffer! (And I think Amtrak fits just fine; they certainly have a big presence in the populated parts of New England.)

Thank you!

I was a bit surprised to see the Amtrak logo on the side of the first car in the beginning. Doesn't really fit as a New England Road.
callinstead09 2 years ago
The Amtrak logo is in there to represent the "Amtrak Downeaster". Thanks for watching!

OH! ok, The Downeaster logo would be nice, But Its nice to see this stuff still at work

Cool. I'm not a big MLW 420 buff as you can probably tell. LOL.
