  • For anyone that likes Bruford, have a listen to Van Der graph.

bruford were highly influenced by peter hammells compositional techniques.

  • Not too many know this, but when Allan Holdsworth was touring for Road Games around 1982-1983, when the tour made a stop at MY FARTHERS PLACE ON LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Jeff Berlin was with him. After that Jimmy Johnson came in on bass.

  • QUID LARGER THAM PLATO SPRAKEN THE CRAKEN

    THIS SQQUID WAS ESTRO DMONSTRROUS

  • This song is far beyond its time! anyone knows who plays the cello? God i love the whole musical composition ( even vocals that somehow tend to ruin the song )

  • @ravilafrias I think Jeff Berlin is playing violin and singing.

  • @ravilafrias Georgina Born is playing the Cello.

  • bruford was at its best doing instrumentals... any time they attempted to use vocals in a song, they ruined the song... the melodies they wrote for vocals were really difficult to listen to. .

  • @zwartepiet412

I always like Jeff's singing on this album.

But of course, his bass playing is just fantastic on these records.

    ...

  • oh my god

  • An older friend turned me onto Masterstokes recently and this song stood out to me as one of the best. I've always known Bruford from KC, but this stuff is beyond compare.

  • Thanks for putting this up! This is my favourite Bruford album...

  • Dark, yet uplifting. :-).

  • This was one of my fav albums in the 70's.

  • I had almost forgotten just how great this track is. That won't happen again.

Wolfgang's Vault has some of the old My Father's Place Concerts, well worth checking out. It was a great club. Who woulda thought, take over an abandoned firehouse and bingo, perfect concert venue. We will never see its like again.

  • Any chance you can put up Sliding Floor. I used to have this album. Really like that song.

  • Il y a dans l'intro au violoncelle quelque chose qui me fait penser à l'album "Babel" de Philip Catherine...

  • Wow, I never heard of this group til my bass teacher told me to learn Joe Frazier... they're pretty awesome =O

  • @hasegawamiki I just re-listen to "Joe Frazier" and I understand why your bass teacher told you to learn it !!! :-)))

  • @hasegawamiki

It was Jeff Berlin on this album. Wasn't it? The most underrated bassist of his generation.

  • @carranen Yes, it is Jeff, and he probably is the most underrated bassist of that generation, as you say xB

  • My fathers place was an iconic institution. They held many, many great fusion shows in Roslyn, Long Island, New York. They will never be forgotten.

  • @lionlr1 your right,,, i was there....nice little town off exit 37on the long island expressway...saw the dregs, buddy rich, adrian belew clinic, there also....will never forget

  • oh shit!!! bruford has invaded my headspace!!!

  • Cette intro en 10/8, quel mec, ce Bruford ! :-) Je préfère nettement cette époque-là de Bruford à celle d'"Earthworks".

  • @vincentjacque
