Look how Gord plays that twelve string guitar. Six sets of double strings just one octave apart in sound. No one in the world can pick a music board like Gordon Lightfoot. He doesn't "play" it..he "caresses" it.

Gord has done some great stuff in his time but to me this is his best. I notice that he seemed to play this one quite a bit during his early concerts but not anymore sadly. It would be interesting to find out when was the last time he performed this song and as to why he no longer sings it at his shows. However, I could of course be wrong if someone out there knows different.........

Stayed up late the other week watching this on BBC Four, a channel in England...like most I knew 'If You Could Read My Mind', but I came away loving the other songs just as much! His guitarist is freakishly good...barely looks at what he's doing the entire show...great!
