Well, Teutonic knights were actually fairly resepctable, as warriors, management, and as an order overall for what it is worth in those times. They just hated pagans :).

Damn, i like this song and video. I think the crusaders were a bunch of illiterates who were lied to by religious authorities and sent to kill people, but didn't they also defend Europe from invaders at times (eg Charles Martelle)?

Requiem eternam for those knights of the Fourth Crusade, who with deceit and treason sieged, conquered and raided the capital of Greek Byzantine Empire Constantinople in 1204. From 1204 until 1261, when the Greeks kicked them out, they destroyed the city, sold its people as slaves, raided on the imperial treasures, stole thousands of books and statues. Some of these statues are now standing in Venice (the famous Lion of Venice and the Horses of Venice is some of them) and in Florence.
